Car Trouble David went out of his way to assist me after I had received my Passat from the Vehicle Processing Center in Elkridge where it was stored for a month a David went out of his way to assist me after I had received my Passat from the Vehicle Processing Center in Elkridge where it was stored for a month after being shipped from Germany where our family was stationed with the military. The battery was dead, the Check Engine light on and I had to drive to Pennsylvania and then home to Rhode Island. When I called for assistance, the person taking my call offered an appointment for the following week even after I explained my situation. She forwarded my call to David who immediately understood my predicament and told me to drive over after giving me assurances that the Check Engine light was safe to drive with. With a jump start I drove over to Heritage and was immediately welcomed by the Express Service staff and David who took my car and got it into a work bay. I think I was there a total of 2 hours. The battery required replacement and the engine error code was remedied. I got on the road and made it to both PA and RI without issue. I truly appreciate the assistance David and the rest of Heritage service team provided me. David could have easily told me he could not assist me but listening to my situation he didn’t hesitate to take steps to help. Thank you! More

Service Department Experience PLEASE READ! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS OR GET YOUR VW SERVICED AT THIS LOCATION!!!! I bought a brand new 2012 VW Passat at this location. The fi PLEASE READ! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS OR GET YOUR VW SERVICED AT THIS LOCATION!!!! I bought a brand new 2012 VW Passat at this location. The first time i took the car in for a "major" repair was when the throttle control failed, after only 3-4 years of ownership and maybe 35,000 miles on the odometer. I was told it was a $3,000 repair. I looked up the information online and found this was a manufacturer error. After a downright nasty battle with the female service advisor (i cant remember her name, but i fully believe she would not have treated a man this way. Even though i'm an electrical engineer who dated a mechanic for a decade. She was that blatantly rude and condescending.) and contacting VW corporate multiple times, VW declared it was a repair that should be done as a manufacturer defect, no charge to me, great right? When i went to pick up the car i was informed that all 4 tires were "nearly bald and in desperate need of replacement for roughly $1,000" at which point i outright laughed and said "That's really odd, i just had a FULL SET put on literally one week ago", they were silent the rest of my time there. The next thing that happened was my clock spring went bad and the airbag and electronic panel on the steering wheel esentially became disconnected. The repair was about $900. I had it completed with minimal issue... until the EXACT SAME ISSUE happened a month later. I contacted them and told them i needed it fixed. They then quoted me $3,800 for the repair, and a myriad of other things that were wrong. After my previous experience i was suspicious. I asked a mechanic to look at the 4 things they mentioned, of which 2 were completely fabricated. In addition to this, they outright refused to replace the clockspring that should have lasted the life of the car and didnt even last 30 days. Another battle with VW corporate and a week later they replaced it for just the cost of labor (geeee thanks). Now here i am, 4 months later, the SAME issue happens again with what i assume is the clockspring. I take the car in, at this point fed up with this dealer and VW as a whole, i am now told that this is not the clockspring, despite everything being the same symptomatically. I was told it was an electrical panel and it would not be covered if i called VW since it's a "different" error. I was also told i needed a leak repaired for $1,800. I told them not to do any repairs and picked the car up, called VW corporate and decided to not say anything and take the car to antwerpen. Wouldn't you know it, they found it was the clockspring! Oh, and the leak? Costs $380 to repair at the pasadena antwerpen VW dealership. I am lodging a formal complaint as it makes me sick to think about how much money i have thrown away with them and how i'm sure they're doing this to EVERYONE. This location indiscriminately and perniciously has STOLEN money from its (very few if im judging by the volume i see when i go) service clients since it switched from russell. If anyone has a similar complaint i suggest a lawyer, i'll be contacting once since i finally have proof they have lied and charged 5 times the standard for their repairs. More

I purchased my 17 GTI earlier this year and recently I encountered an error with my vehicles airbag system which displayed a warning on the dash. I took my car to Volkswagen in Catonsville and to make a long story short the Service Manager Andrew Kolbe went above and beyond to ensure that the repair was made and kept me updated throughout the whole process. I owned many different cars and worked with many service advisors/managers and this is the first time I encountered a service manager who displayed empathy and possessed the drive to face a complex problem head-on. In the past, I’ve worked in the automotive service industry and I can tell you from experience that Andrew Kolbe’s priority is the customer experience. More

It had been a really exhausting Friday and I was supposed to be going out of town for a Family outing in New Jersey. So at the last minute without an appointment I decided I needed to have my Beetle vacuumed and washed. I showed up at 2pm and I figured I would be there for at least 2 hours. I was SURPRISED that the task was completed in no time at all. Since they finished so quickly I inquired about if it would be possible to reprogram my key so that when i locked the car the Horn wouldn't beep anymore. My service Guy's had my car reprogrammed in just a few minutes. I STILL can't BELIEVE it. WoooooooooW!!! That's Freaking Awesome!!!!!! More
