This dealership is playing the “market adjustment” game which is their way of justifying ripping off their customers. They can tell you until they’re blue in the face that the market dictates the prices but that’s nonsense. There are multiple other dealerships in the area that are selling at MSRP. (Or even lower) Heritage had an opportunity to sell us a 4th vehicle and due to their greed, they lost out. We went to Faulkner and bought TWO brand new hybrid vehicles at MSRP. You’d think that Heritage would want to look out for their neighbors and take care of their own community, unfortunately, they had no desire to do that, they’re only focused on squeezing every single nickel and dime out of their loyal customers via “market adjustment” fees. These things typically come full circle; it’s my hope that anyone looking to buy a vehicle opts out of purchasing from Heritage and looks elsewhere. There are plenty of other dealerships in the area that aren’t trying to completely stiff you. When we bought from Faulkner, the finance manager said “we’ve never applied a market adjustment fee and we’ve been so busy that we’ve had to turn away people if they weren’t from the Harrisburg area because we wanted to take care of our own neighbors first”. It’s unfortunate that Heritage didn’t adopt this same ideology; as a result, they missed out on 62,400.00 worth of sales. Lastly, I understand that sales is a business and you have to make money; but, there’s a massive ideological difference between making money and just straight up ripping people off. Again, these things come full circle eventually; it’s my hope that there will come a time when they have a plethora of overpriced vehicles sitting on their lot that they can’t sell because the market has leveled back out and nobody is willing to pay 39,000.00 for a Prius or 100,000.00 for a Sequoia. If you want to buy a TOYOTA, go to Faulkner. If you want any other brand; check out the Jones dealerships in Lancaster. More
