I recently bought an almost new CX5 at Towson Mazda. 10 min after buying the car, I noticed that the left mirror did not work. I brought the car back in to get it checked out, they take the whole thing apa min after buying the car, I noticed that the left mirror did not work. I brought the car back in to get it checked out, they take the whole thing apart and assured me that the mirror was just not clicked in correctly and also informed me the previous owner had an accident with the car. Still not a deal breaker, but this was never told to me before buying the car!!! Seems dishonest to me! A week later the mirror starts not working again, so I bring it back in to another dealership, who tells me that there is something broken inside the mirror's mechanism! Also, the car happened to have the owner’s manual missing, so I asked if I could get one, they said they would get on that right away... 2 weeks later... i finally got a responce, they will send it to me in the mail... still waiting... I don’t know about all the other positive ratings on here but my experience has been mostly negative so far. On a personal note, the car was a gift for my wife and now she’s disappointed... o well can’t win them all, but would really have liked to win this one More
Buying experience and service experience were bad: I went in to buy a used car (1 year old) that I test drove a few days prior at the Reisterstown location. I called to double check that the vehicle was went in to buy a used car (1 year old) that I test drove a few days prior at the Reisterstown location. I called to double check that the vehicle was transported to the Towson location right beofre I left my house (I lived closer to Towson). When I got to Towson, the sales man led me to a car, and I was excited to be buying my first car. I got in, thinking it's my 1 year used car, but turns out it was a BRAND NEW car (2010 & 2011 model looks exactly the same). In his salesman pitch, the sales man announced "how would like you like to own a NEW car?!" "you can't get that new car smell in a used car" (YES HE SERIOUSLY SAID THIS), "how much monthly payments do you want to make?" he also said "why would you want a car that a lot of people have driven in already??" I asked him what happened to the used car that we have been talking for the past week? We had already gone over pricing, payments, final costs etc. It was about 17degrees outside and he is spitfiring all these questions that we had already discussed and settled on. I was just there to sign the papers and pick up the vehicle. Why didn't you just be honest and say that it wasn't there? This was a HORRIBLE experience...like I said, it was my first buying experience, so I was extremely upset and disappointed---he fit the car salesman stereotype to a T. And don't bother getting a warranty. If something goes wrong, they seem like lazy, inexperienced mechanics. They want you to pay to find out what the problem is as if your warranty doesn't exist. They were asking ME what was wrong with my car. I said I'm not a mechanic--I was kinda hoping you guys would be able to tell me that. He said that his car made sounds too. I asked him how old his car was--I think he said his was a 2003 or something like that. I told him, yeah, you can expect noises from a car almost 10 years old, but it's not usually expected from a car 1-2 years old. The mechanic said basically to ignore the sound coming from my engine since my car was still moving and everything looks "mechanically sound". I don't normally write reviews, but I've had consistently horrible experiences with Mazda and would NEVER buy one again, nor do I recommend anyone getting one. I had a 92 Toyota Camry that drove excellent...had over 200k miles, and was still working very well when I sold it and bought my Mazda. I highly doubt that my Mazda will make it past 100k miles, so save yourself the buyer's remorse. More
I was in the Market for a CX-5 GT AWD with the tech package and upon talking with Ty and Joe it was apparent that they wanted my business and that they were willing to work to get it. Within an hour t package and upon talking with Ty and Joe it was apparent that they wanted my business and that they were willing to work to get it. Within an hour they found the color I was looking for and did a dealer trade. They even went as far as to give me a loaner for 3 days until my company could finish the parking garage they were working on....that’s pretty cool of them as I'm kind of OCD about my car. I also wanted to give a heads up to Sam in Finance and Eddie who assisted Ty while he was out having my vehicle prepped. It’s refreshing to find a dealership where everyone works as a team and isn't out for themselves. Haven't visited the service department yet but will update this review after my first visit. I also still need to work out a few outs and ends on Saturday with some vehicle prep but I’m confident that everything will be taken care of accordingly. More
I was in the market for a very specific trim/color combination for a MX-5, two dealers within 45 minutes of me had one that were identical in their markdown prices, the reason I chose Heritage Mazda i combination for a MX-5, two dealers within 45 minutes of me had one that were identical in their markdown prices, the reason I chose Heritage Mazda in Towson was simply because the reviews were significantly higher than the other dealership, I'm glad I listened. I came in early during a weekday and after looking at the car on the lot on my own, was politely asked if I needed assistance and was then greeted by Art Talansky. Art was extremely knowledgable about the car and very easy going on the test drive, describing the features of the car as I drove, but not being overbearing and letting me concentrate on the drive when I wanted to. Back inside he clearly explained the pricing and all available incentives, as well as possible financing options available. Once we agreed on the details, he quickly got the paperwork rolling. Once it came time to sign all the necessary paperwork there were no surprises, Art was incredibly up front about the honesty of the group he works with and he wasn't kidding. This is a welcome change to the bait and switch tactics that many dealers use to get you to come in and agree on something you don't want. There were never any questions or issues as to what I wanted, or what was expected from either party, everything was clearly laid out and communcicated calmly and efficiently. Before coming into the dealership I ran the numbers to what I thought would be a accurate and fair deal for the entire purchase: price, trade, and financing. I never expressed this number when discussing the vehicle and I'm happy to say Art was able to easily beat the payment I had expected which made me all the more relaxed during the whole procedure. Enough can't be said about feeling relaxed when shopping for a new car, because in the end it should feel like shopping, not someone assaulting you with figures, incentives, numbers, features, and time constraints to get you to make a decision. Heritage Mazda is easily the best dealership I have purchased a car from and I really can't recomment it enough. Even if it's out of the way from you, do yourself a favor and take the extra time to make the trip, the stress you'll save will be more than worth it. More
I had a bit of a unique buying experience this go round. Started out looking for a Toyota Tacoma and ended up with a Mazda CX-5. I haven't been this excited about a car since I was sixteen, we won't go into how long ago that was. My introduction to Heritage Towson was quite by accident and the enticement of a $25.00 Gift Card to just come and test drive a vehicle. Never did get that gift card, come to think of it.Little did I know what I was letting myself in for by filling in that information request. Jacqueline called not fifteen minutes after completion of the on line form and I had a price I was happy with when I left my door and Headed for Heritage, Towson. At the door I was greeted by Eddie, who ended up being my Sales Person of record, and the most enjoyable vehicle buying experience commenced. I can't say enought about the plain honesty, professionalism, and geniune concern that was displayed by everyone at Heritage as epitomized by Mr. Eddie Coker. If you or anyone you know is interested in buying a Mazda, and Heritage Towson is not to far to go. Do yourself a favor and visit Heritage Towson and ask for Eddie, tell him Don sent you. Won't get you anything just say hey for me. More

Very unpleasant experience. Hank Johnson was the salesperson I worked with and I was told they had the vehicle I wanted and just had to transfer to dealer. I brought in a van into the dealership to salesperson I worked with and I was told they had the vehicle I wanted and just had to transfer to dealer. I brought in a van into the dealership to trade in and after Hank and the manager looked over the van they gave me the value of that trade in. Our deal was looking good until the night I said I was coming in to do the deal. I was told had to get it done before the end of business that day because of the Mazda incentive that I would lose. I called in the morning to confirm I was coming in that evening. Never was I told there was any issues. When I got there and after waiting around for a while I was told they did not have my vehicle that it had been sold but they wanted to sell me another car. It was a bait and switch scam to me. I had very specific requirements for the car I wanted. I never had an issue to put down a large deposit to made sure I had the car. I was told they could not find a Mazda with the features that I wanted anywhere, that they were not available. Of course when I went home that night I found the car I was looking for with only one exception the engine size at their other Mazda dealership in Owings Mills. When I went there to do the deal I was told that no one including Hank had any figures for the value they quoted for my trade in. They only wanted to give me half of what they originially said my trade it was worth. I could not talk to Hank because he was not available and the manager I originally dealt with was now fired according to the Owings Mills Manager. I did buy the Mazda because I believe it to be a good vehicle but I will never purchase from any Heritage dealership because my deal at Ownings Mills was a six hour ordeal with nothing but a run around and no one even took a moment after I purchased the veihicle to walk me thru my new car. I was just handed keys and sent out the door. I own two businesses and I would never treat my customers this way. It they had been honest and told me that day when I call to arrange to come in I might have felt differently but my valuable time was wasted. Be very careful if you go there, they just seem to want you in the door with no concern to work honestly. More
I found this dealership online through Dealer Rater. Thought I'd give it a try since it has one of the highest rating. Summary: Great Offered Price, but TERRIBLE ATTITUDES toward the customers. Ba Thought I'd give it a try since it has one of the highest rating. Summary: Great Offered Price, but TERRIBLE ATTITUDES toward the customers. Bare with me and I will tell you why the rating is the way it is: I went into the dealership with my friend to look for a new Mazda 3. I was first working with Eddie. He was a nice guy, greet us at the door and has been very friendly (one of the two reasons I gave them a 3 in customer services instead of 1). The price he offered was higher than my expected price; I ended up leaving and no purchases were made. I started talking to another friend of mine who were also actively looking to buy a new car. He was very interested in purchasing a new Mazda 3 as well. We were comparing the prices offered by different dealerships. We weren't going to go to the Heritage in Towson, but since my friend has scheduled to meet with one of their sales, Jacqueline K, we decided to go into the dealership on the last day of May, Saturday the 31st. Jacqueline K was the main sales that my friend has been working with for the entire time. She provided him with the OTR (on the road/ out of door) price. My friend was not impressed. But since she PROMISED that she'd be there working with us and backing us up and talking to her manager at the dealership in order to get us a better deal, we went in on the 31st. HOWEVER, on March 31st, she only showed up and shook my friend's hand and LEFT. We ended up test driving the car with Eddie, the guy that I was working with originally. Throughout the whole ride, Eddie was on his phone for the entire time... Not the worst thing, but probably not the best thing to do when we are trying to ask a couple questions regarding the car. They sat us down at the desk again after the test drive, and made us wait for a long time (20~30 minutes). Apparently they were computing the numbers*. Eddie came back with a paper with the price. Nothing was changed or marked down from the invoice that we got (keep in mind that Jacqueline told us that there are still rooms for negotiation since it's the last day of the month). Eddie went back to get SCOTT F., the General Manager... and long story short, he was YELLING at us telling us that they are the lowest price/ the price that we "AGREED" to, and how much of a trouble we are to them because we were trying to comparing the lowest price between different dealerships throughout the last week. We NEVER told him that we were set on the deal, and was under the impression that we were going to come in and work something out with the price through Jacqueline K. He started off by trying to make us feel guilty by saying that he "sent his guy down to drive the car up just so we can have it today." LUCKILY, my friend has told him previously that we don't need the car at the moment and can certainly wait if we ended up working something out = it was HIS decision to send a guy down when it is NOT necessary at all. He ended up trying to humiliate us and telling us that we are "a waste of time", and how he wishes we never showed up. WHY WOULD I WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY WHEN THAT IS YOUR ATTITUDE?! IS THAT HOW A CUSTOMER IS SUPPOSEDLY BE TREATED? At the end of the day, I DID NOT LOST ANYTHING, but YOU HAVE LOST TWO BUSINESSES. I hope they were all just having a bad day, and not acting like that usually. However, there's no way I would ever go back to this dealership anymore. More
Best experience I ever had buying a new car. Joe knows the cars that he sells and I found that really helped when I was trying to figure out which model Mazda 3 I wanted. Everyone there was very friendly the cars that he sells and I found that really helped when I was trying to figure out which model Mazda 3 I wanted. Everyone there was very friendly and I felt no pressure on making " the deal". They gave me a fair price on my trade in and a good price on the Mazda 3s that I drove home. Would recommend them to all my friends and family. More
