He was very informative, straightforward and courteous. He also presented us with viable options to choose from, including new cars, certified pre-own, leasing--each of which he took time to explain the benefits and differences. The manager and finance person were also helpful with various financing options. My wife and I returned to this location as we had the best experience 3-years ago when we visited close to 20 dealers in Maryland. Having experienced all sort of dealer scams we read on the internet, their approach was quite refreshing and we decided to buy from them. Fortunately, they haven't changed their approach, and we are very pleased with both purchases at this dealer. We were grateful that Garret cleared a desk and set up an area for so our son could complete his homework without distractions. We also appreciated Garret giving our 10-year old son balloons, toys and games to play while we were busy discussing purchase, leasing and finance options for new, certified or used vehicle... Thanks to Garret our son was no longer bored after homework but made himself at home as my wife and I continued the process of purchasing a new car. We do recommend Heritage Mazda at Towson, especially for those who are not too familiar about car-buying gimmicks. Their service/repair section is great too so you'll be well-covered. Rodney and Ty were great in sales. Both were well informed about the cars we were interested in. We purchased 2 cars in 2 days and the experience was one of the best. We weren't pressured and were informed about the cars we were interested in. We purchased 2 cars in 2 days and the experience was one of the best. We weren't pressured and were not attacked the minute we walked into the dealer. We initially were going to purchase 2 Hyundai cars from a sister dealer but left without a purchase as they had us thinking for 4 hours( at the dealer) that they had possession of one of the cars we wanted. Not Bristol's fault, but it was on Doug. Ty and Rodney answered all of our questions and Rodney even drove to VA to get a car he thought I might like for me to check out. I purchased a different car, a CX 5 and love it. Ty was so helpful and friendly and the salesmen work together, not at all competitive, which certainly makes the customer more comfortable. The managers, Jason. Jason and Chuck wanted us to be happy and it showed. Joe in finance initiated our paperwork for the second car on the first night and this made the second purchase easier. This is definitely a customer oriented dealer. Keep Ty and Rodney happy They both deserve a raise. The Jasons , Chuck and Joe work well together and don't hover over their sales people. They let them do their jobs without pressure. Mile One, keep your team together and we will be back when it is time for another new car. Best team in the business! More
My husband and I ventured into Heritage Towson looking for a replacement car after a recent accident. I needed a car that could work within our budget since it was an unexpected purchase. I visited Mazda of Towson for my first time car buying experience and found it to be a very smooth purchase. I worked with Ty Pearmon who was very friendly and was very knowledgeable about the car. We had decided it was time for a new car. I had done some research and we thought we would start with a Mazda..my thoughts were with the CX9 but we wanted to look at the CX5 also...we looked around the some research and we thought we would start with a Mazda..my thoughts were with the CX9 but we wanted to look at the CX5 also...we looked around the lot and we were not hovered by anyone, given our space to take our time and then we were connected with Ty Pearmon...he was great, relaxed, not pushy, and informative. He started us with the CX5 and I felt it a bit small since coming from a Volvo XC90..then we drove the CX9 and I really liked it, so did my husband...we had a price range in mind and Ty really was concerned about what our priorities and desires of a future purchase and then he showed us a car that we really felt was a great fit...Ialso feel it is a good value..Truthfully, we had no intention of purchasing a car that day, had just started looking, but everything went so smoothly that it all fell into place in such a comfortable way that it was such a pleasurable experience...I would truly recommend Heritage for a future purchase to anyone and would definitely recommend Ty as a Sales Respresentative...you will not be pressured and you will be treated genuinely...I have to also mention the the Finance Department, Sam, I believe was the gentlemans name, was terrific...everyone I have met seems to be very friendly and informative...Thanks for a great experience! Everything about my experience with the Towson branch of Heritage Mazda was excellent; from the initial contact through the website to the final sale, the staff were polite, helpful, honest, friendly, atten Heritage Mazda was excellent; from the initial contact through the website to the final sale, the staff were polite, helpful, honest, friendly, attentive, and fair. The final price was excellent as well. My mechanic, who was loyal to my previous, 17 year old car, also speaks very highly of the people at the Towson branch. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends looking to buy a new or used car. The staff I worked with: Lauren Pedersen, Sales Associate. I recently bought an almost new CX5 at Towson Mazda. 10 min after buying the car, I noticed that the left mirror did not work. I brought the car back in to get it checked out, they take the whole thing apa min after buying the car, I noticed that the left mirror did not work. I brought the car back in to get it checked out, they take the whole thing apart and assured me that the mirror was just not clicked in correctly and also informed me the previous owner had an accident with the car. Still not a deal breaker, but this was never told to me before buying the car!!! Seems dishonest to me! A week later the mirror starts not working again, so I bring it back in to another dealership, who tells me that there is something broken inside the mirror's mechanism! Also, the car happened to have the owner’s manual missing, so I asked if I could get one, they said they would get on that right away... 2 weeks later... i finally got a responce, they will send it to me in the mail... still waiting... I don’t know about all the other positive ratings on here but my experience has been mostly negative so far. On a personal note, the car was a gift for my wife and now she’s disappointed... o well can’t win them all, but would really have liked to win this one More
Buying experience and service experience were bad: I went in to buy a used car (1 year old) that I test drove a few days prior at the Reisterstown location. I called to double check that the vehicle was went in to buy a used car (1 year old) that I test drove a few days prior at the Reisterstown location. I called to double check that the vehicle was transported to the Towson location right beofre I left my house (I lived closer to Towson). When I got to Towson, the sales man led me to a car, and I was excited to be buying my first car. I got in, thinking it's my 1 year used car, but turns out it was a BRAND NEW car (2010 & 2011 model looks exactly the same). In his salesman pitch, the sales man announced "how would like you like to own a NEW car?!" "you can't get that new car smell in a used car" (YES HE SERIOUSLY SAID THIS), "how much monthly payments do you want to make?" he also said "why would you want a car that a lot of people have driven in already??" I asked him what happened to the used car that we have been talking for the past week? We had already gone over pricing, payments, final costs etc. It was about 17degrees outside and he is spitfiring all these questions that we had already discussed and settled on. I was just there to sign the papers and pick up the vehicle. Why didn't you just be honest and say that it wasn't there? This was a HORRIBLE experience...like I said, it was my first buying experience, so I was extremely upset and disappointed---he fit the car salesman stereotype to a T. And don't bother getting a warranty. If something goes wrong, they seem like lazy, inexperienced mechanics. They want you to pay to find out what the problem is as if your warranty doesn't exist. They were asking ME what was wrong with my car. I said I'm not a mechanic--I was kinda hoping you guys would be able to tell me that. He said that his car made sounds too. I asked him how old his car was--I think he said his was a 2003 or something like that. I told him, yeah, you can expect noises from a car almost 10 years old, but it's not usually expected from a car 1-2 years old. The mechanic said basically to ignore the sound coming from my engine since my car was still moving and everything looks "mechanically sound". I don't normally write reviews, but I've had consistently horrible experiences with Mazda and would NEVER buy one again, nor do I recommend anyone getting one. I had a 92 Toyota Camry that drove excellent...had over 200k miles, and was still working very well when I sold it and bought my Mazda. I highly doubt that my Mazda will make it past 100k miles, so save yourself the buyer's remorse. More
