Both Ken Hanscom and Vitale Khlebniekov are hugely knowledgeable and thoroughly courteous in every respect. The facility is clean, comfortable and convenient. Even the machine coffee is good. I just wish they hadn't gotten rid of their nitrogen generator. I fill my tires with nitrogen, and it's difficult to get it done elsewhere. Hal Stein More
Excellent service, great communication Brought our car to Herb Gordon Subaru because all of the idiot lights were on, and also noticed a funky smell. Unfortunately, we figured out that rodents had done quite a lot of damage to the electrical harnesses and more. A mess! Michael Goodman coordinated everything with regard to these repairs- he made sure I had a loaner car, called me with the estimate and answered all my questions. He gave me a phone number to call if I had questions and he picked up that phone directly each time. No phone tag! No speaking to whoever might be available and waiting for them to figure out which car was mine and what it was in for. I even got automated emails and texts to update me, for instance when parts arrived. Very impressive communication all the way around. He even called me proactively to let me know that he hadn't heard from the insurance adjuster so that I could follow up rather than wait an extra day or two. When I picked up my car, Michael introduced me to the mechanic who actually did the work- he explained a bit more about the work done and again was available to answer any questions. We did hit a snag- most of the bill was going to be covered by my insurance company, and as of when I walked in the dealership to get my car, they had mailed the check to the dealership. Clearly this put the dealership in the less than ideal position of having to hold onto my car because my insurance company couldn't figure out a way to expedite payment. I certainly understood the dealership's need to be paid- after all, they had completed a 2700 repair and in far less time than the adjuster suggested it might take. Ken Hanscom, a manager there, not only offered me extended use of the courtesy car, he offered it to me at no charge, even though my insurance co does not reimburse for loaner cars! In the end, and on short order, Michael and Ken huddled with the Director, Greg Edwards, and released my car to me so that I would not be inconvenienced by an extra trip back to dealership. In other words, the insurance co came up short on service, and Herb Gordon Subaru employees not only did their job very well, they even covered for the insurance company's shortcoming. Long story short, we're keeping the service team at Herb Gordon Subaru and finding a new insurance company! More

I dealt primarily with Michael Goodman, who made sure to check in with me and update me on any developments with the service of my car. He even stayed late to make sure it was washed! This place is staffed by incredibly attentive and friendly people who went out of their way to provide fast, thorough, service at the highest discount they could offer me. I managed to have my car break down and be rendered completely inoperable, and also lose my wallet (with all forms of payment and ID) at the same time. Fortunately, Rodney, Laurie, Ken, and the rest of the people at Herb Gordon worked with me to get the problem diagnosed, giving me a frank assessment of the situation and actually advising against me getting work done right then and there. They got me right in a wonderful free loaner, and were very accommodating in letting me keep my car in their lot and use the loaner while I got my situation sorted out. I can't thank them enough, and would absolutely recommend this dealership to a friend. More

Since I purchased my Subaru Forester at Herb Gordon I called the dealership. I reached Service Advisor Michael Goodman and made an appointment. Mike greeted me when I arrived. He checked the tire told me the situation and kept me informed every step of the way. He replaced the tire and had me on the road in an hour. Great service. Efficient. I feel like Mike is someone I can trust. More
Quick, Friendly, & Transparent Service I brought by newly-purchased used Subaru Forrester in for some warranty work, brake work, and new tires. Mike immediately knew how to take care of me, made sure my car got a full safety inspection (above & beyond the 90k mile inspection that was due). By the time I drove home in my rental, Mike was already calling with results and was very transparent about what work needed to be done now and what I could wait on. He made sure the service work fit within my budget and walked me through every step of the way. I will definitely continue to go to Herb-Gordon for my service needs! More

Terrible service that is overpriced & takes advance of femal I went to Herb Gordon for service and it was a nightmare!!! I was told I needed $2500 in repairs to pass the MD safety inspection yet my car was servi I went to Herb Gordon for service and it was a nightmare!!! I was told I needed $2500 in repairs to pass the MD safety inspection yet my car was serviced at another Subaru dealership just before moving and I was told I my car was in great shape and no safety or other concerns. Local shops quoted me $1000-1400 to do the same repairs. The service rep also told me my car may have been in a flood yet I know where my car has been every day I have had it and it has not. I purchased my car from a Subaru dealership and he tried to convenience me they sold me a flooded car. More offensive was when the service rep told me to have my husband call him and he will explain the repairs. I have a pretty solid understanding of my car and the rep should have been easily able to explain stuff to me but he didn't want to. I also know my car better than my husband (and I actually know my husband's car better than he does). Stop demoralizing women!!! Also, they charge $140+ for an MD inspection and other local shops charge $60!!! Moral of the story: learn from my mistake and take your car elsewhere!!!!! I was wondering why there was no line and they could start on my car right away with no apt -- and I discovered why- nobody wants to go to this service center! More
