Unfortunately, according to GM your vehicle did not fall under the special service coverage and you refused to authorize our shop to disassemble the transmission to inspect. Modern vehicles are increasingly complex and to maintain proper operation GM requires maintenance be performed by factory trained and certified technicians using the correct factory issued parts.

According to GM my car did fall under special service coverage which states, "This special coverage covers for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership." My car was less than 10 years old and had fewer than 120,000 miles (approx. 112,000) , clearly within the parameters of coverage. It was Herb Connolly who tried to deny my vehicle fell under the coverage, not GM. I declined to have my transmission disassembled when I was told after my transmission was removed and replaced with a new one for a quote of $5600, Herb Connolly would then require an additional 8+ hours of labor, or approx. $1100, to assess the wave plate which would need to be in addition to my already $5600 out of pocket expense. Clearly it does not take over 8 hours of labor to disassemble a transmission that is removed from a car already and I felt the fee was exorbitant and an attempt to refrain from pursuing this course . Needless to say, I had zero confidence this issue would be addressed correctly at Herb Connolly & this was yet another obstacle they were placing in my path as a means to avoid addressing an issue they didn't want to address. This is the second experience I have had with this dealership trying to avoid repair work covered under special service coverages for issues that are well documented with this make/model/year of car.
