I was looking for a safe, fuel efficient vehicle that wouldn't leave me eating ramen noodles to make the payment. I have some credit issues after declaring bankruptcy in 2012 due to about a half-million dollars in medical debt, and this can make the car buying process humiliating and frustrating. I met John Gould on a cold evening in the early part of this year. He was friendly, responsive, and able to answer my questions. He heard what I was looking for, and recommended a few vehicles. Ultimately, I drove a 2014 Sonic, and it was the right fit for me. While I didn't immediately buy a new car (I had access to another car for a period of time, and ended up not buying at all at the time), when it came time to purchase a new car this fall, of all the dealers I visited, John and the team at Herb Connolly stood out for their efforts to get me approved for a loan, for the non-pressure sales process, and their responsiveness. They were able to get me into a brand new sonic, with a loan at a reasonable rate - and their finance department treated me like a person as opposed to a failure, which is how many credit departments make those of us with credit issues feel. I was treated with respect and dignity throughout the process, and ultimately got an affordable loan for a new car with little difficulty on my part. I'd highly recommend John Gould and Herb Connolly Chevy to anyone looking for an easy, friendly, low-pressure sales experience. Also, when there was a small snafu between my insurance company and the registry, John went the extra mile to get me a loaner while it was sorted out. More

He answered all questions I had and spent multiple hours with me just to make sure I would be happy in what I purchased. Not only did I get a new car I am thrilled to have but he was NOT pushy in anyway. Because of my prior experiences, I was hesitant to visit (I live over an hour away). It was worth the drive! My experience with John Gould and the whole staff at Herb Connolly was nothing but pleasant, professional, and comfortable. At no time did John pressure me, make me feel dumb, or try to pull the wool over my eyes. Not only that, but they offered me the highest value for my trade and a great deal on my new Volt. He showed me all the numbers and walked me through all the numbers and didn't just tell me what my payment was going to be like some dealers. John was very knowledgeable about the Volt and made the sales experience extremely laid back and professional. I stopped by some other dealerships, and none understood the cars as well, none methodically demonstrated the features to me and my wife. And none of the others made me feel as comfortable. I dealt with John Gould, Paul Santoro, and Rodrigo Roa; and can highly recommend any of them. John in particular is a great resource for someone curious about a Chevy Volt and would like a thorough run-through of its unique features. When I bought the car, the staff closed all the details on financing and registration quickly and painlessly to me.
