My experience with Herb Connolly was mixed, to put it mildly. I purchased a 2020 Chevy Bolt from Herb Connolly. My initial experience was excellent. I used the "text us" form on their website. The folks I dealt with there, Glen M and Zayan R, were helpful and quick to respond. As the dealership is around half an hour from my house, I was hesitant to drive out there until I could verify that the vehicle was available (I'd had a bad experience with another dealership where I'd driven out and that wasn't the case). Someone from the sales department verified it quickly, and I scheduled an appointment. This was on a Monday. My salesman was Peter Franklin. He was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the product and the various government rebates. Most importantly, he never made me feel pressured to buy. All of my experience with him has been excellent. I decided to make the purchase, and put down a deposit. We scheduled a time on Saturday morning for me to take delivery. This is where my experience went from excellent to awful. After my wife dropped me off at the dealership on Saturday, I was told that the title for the vehicle was not on site, and that I would not be able to take delivery that day. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's frankly inexcusable that I wasn't told until I arrived at the dealership that the title was still in transit. The fact that no one noticed the title was missing between Monday and Saturday really makes the finance team look incompetent, and doesn't inspire confidence. That seems like a pretty basic step. I was also not completely happy with how the situation was handled. While everyone was polite and apologetic, and arrangements were made to get me back home so my wife wouldn't have to come back, I feel that some compensation should have been made without me asking for it. A courtesy car to use in the interim, for example, since I was told that the title was expected early the next week. I sent an email to the dealership on Sunday, and got a call from the sales manager early on Monday (one week after I'd looked at the car). He offered some compensation for the inconvenience. I appreciated that, and waited for the notification that the title was at the dealership. When I didn't hear from the dealership by Thursday, I called them on my lunch break. They called be back within five minutes or so, and let me know the title was there. However, I had to wait until the following Monday before I could take delivery because they didn't have any finance people available before then. Considering how I was inconvenienced when I went to take delivery the first time, it seems to me they should have asked what was convenient for me, and then made that work. It's a shame, and very disappointing that an otherwise excellent customer experience has been spoiled by easily avoidable mistakes, and a lackluster response. While I wouldn't tell people to avoid this dealership, I really can't recommend them either. More

Trying to get a person to talk to about service. Keep getting voice mail, then not getting call back. Tried to speak with service manager same results. I have brought my truck to this dealership 3 times for repairs for the same thing. I dropped it off on a Monday afternoon without an appointment hoping they would look at it because they hadn't fixed it c repairs for the same thing. It is now Thursday and they haven't even looked at it i now have to cancel my vacation because i have no vehicle. It seems to me you don't matter to them as a customer even if they can't fix your vehicle after 2 times it was in for repairs for the same thing and it still hasn't been fixed yet. More

Told the salesman even though I stated the salesman (Lucas) was excellent, they were going to hold the one star review against him!!!! Salesman, Lucas Satler was EXCELLENT. My problem is with an HCC "policy". That tells you what kind of people you're dealing with here. Not his fault, but they will hold it against him if he doesn't get me to put in a better review. He will lose my repeat sale because of THEM. No fault of his own. We need another vehicle within the next year and would definitely go back to him if he were at another dealership. I will NOT use HCC again. I was PENALIZED for walking in and purchasing a vehicle with cash. I guess I am not a customer HCC wants. Was told I had to pay an extra $1,000 if I paid cash and didn't finance with them. They offer a "coupon" for $1,000 if you agree to finance through them. If you pay cash, you don't get the coupon and pay a higher price. So ask yourself why is it so important to them that I finance. So important that they would risk alienating not only a customer like me, but pretty much everyone I will ever encounter for the rest of my life who will hear about this. I had a bank certified check but they want me to finance with THEIR bank, so their bank holds my title and I pay THEIR bank interest - paying a higher price for the vehicle than I would otherwise and having to carry more insurance than I normally would. When I was younger I couldn't afford to pay cash - I know not everyone can do this, but if you need to finance...go to the bank of YOUR CHOICE and take out a PERSONAL loan. Then you will hold the title yourself and actually own your vehicle. The payments are between you and YOUR bank. So I have come back in and given them a phony 5 star review to help this innocent salesman. Thinking maybe this is better anyway. Almost their entire page is one star reviews - so mine would just be another one and might not be read. Maybe more people will read it this way and see that they are not a good company. Since this happened I have called other dealers and find that they would be glad to have a cash sale - with no PRESSURE to finance through their bank. One even told me he would accept my personal check. So shop around and find not only a good vehicle, but a good dealer. Might be better to pay a little more and get a reputable organization to deal with. Hoping my salesman gets a better job soon. He's too good for this place. Feel bad for the other salesman who must face a public who doesn't trust them - through no fault of their own, but because of the low quality of organization they may be working for. I paid the extra $1,000. I could have financed but refused. Why should I finance when I don't have to and don't want to. Ask yourself, why would a cash sale be something they discourage? Have already found the dealership I will work with next time and going forward for other autos purchases. Call around and ask if the price for a cash sale is HIGHER than if financed (they're not including the extra you will end up paying in interest but you're not supposed to think about that). If it is higher than you know what type of people you'll be dealing with. More
