I brought my car into the dealership for an oil change fluid top off in an inspection and I don’t think any of the fluids were topped off and filter was so dirty. Had an animal die in the duct work of my car. After some research it was determined only way to get it out was to fully remove the dash. After calling around to some local shops I ultimately decided to go w research it was determined only way to get it out was to fully remove the dash. After calling around to some local shops I ultimately decided to go with the dealer. Figured it was a complex job and I was better off going to people who work on Hyundai all day. I ended up going through insurance to be reimbursed for most of the expense. Anyways, booked the appointment to have the work done. Dropped off on a Tuesday morning and was told it would take probably 3 days to complete the work. Called on 3 consecutive days leaving messages for service managers to try to get an idea of when the car might be ready (I live about 30 minutes away so needed to coordinate ride). Did not receive a call back until Saturday (5 days after dropoff), and was told the work had not even been started. Additionally this was July 4th weekend so nobody would be in on Monday to start it meaning work would begin a full 7 days after my scheduled in advance appointment. The next week was more of the same story, called in often to check in progress, rarely got calls back. Finally got the call on Saturday that the car was ready. I go to pick it up and there was an exta couple hundred dollars of work performed that I had never authorized. This worried me as I had already had to get all of the work pre-approved by insurance. No general manager was working that day for me to talk with. Already fuming, I get in the car to take it home and immediately notice that the steering wheel is all torn up from the dash removal. At this point I just need the car back so I start driving home. Get halfway home and it starts raining at which point I discover the wipers no longer work on anything higher than intermittent. Finally a take a turn and water comes spilling in to the passenger side floor from what turned out to be a missed AC drain connection so it was just draining into the ductwork. I called dealer back and this was the only time things were handled well. Service manager came to my house and brought the car into work with him to have those 3 new issues remedied. In talking with Matt the service manager it was agreed upon that as a result of all these issues and the fact that I was without a car for 2 weeks for what was promised as a few days work, he would refund me whatever amounts did not end up covered by insurance (deductible plus any overages from the unauthorized charges). I emailed him a month ago with the details once everything was finalized by insurance. No response. Called yesterday and spoke to a different service manager and now suddenly today am being told they are not giving me anything for the trouble. I made the mistake of trusting them to do the work, and the additional mistake of trusting them to make their various failings right with me. More
