Daniel was friendly and informative. Although I was offered more services than what I came in for, he didn’t push the up selling when I declined, which I appreciated. I been going to Herb Chambers Hyundai in Auburn since buying my vehicle from them in April 2016, but in the last year, the service department started rubbing me the wrong way. Let me preface these events buying my vehicle from them in April 2016, but in the last year, the service department started rubbing me the wrong way. Let me preface these events by stating that I have been in the sales industry my entire ten years of working and understand when you have to meet a quota, but this location has outright lied on multiple occasions just to meet a quota. They replaced my engine last year due to (from what their own mechanic stated) a COMMON issue with their vehicles. I had to wait two months to retrieve my vehicle and I IMMEDIATELY noticed after they replaced the engine that the vehicle seemed to be hesitating when attempting to accelerate to the point I even questioned if the engine they put in the vehicle was refurbished. I also soon had an issue where my battery was dead and I had to replace It. I bought a battery from Walmart because It was about $100 cheaper. I had a few issues due to the battery being lose and the dealer claimed that the battery I bought from Walmart would not work for a Hyundai car (despite clearly being made for one) because It was not HYUNDAI BRANDED. Thankfully I didn't listen to them and took my car to O'Riellys again who sold a clamp for about $3 that fixed the issue I was having. I brought my vehicle back over 7 times between getting my car back in May and December regarding the issue that the dealer claimed they couldn’t replicate therefore could not fix. I started having a feeling that they were attempting to wait for the warranty to run out or attempting to find a way to make me pay for the fix. Suddenly just as I passed the 100k mile mark, the dealership claimed they finally found the issue and It was indeed the catalytic converter that they claim was unrelated to the engine replacement despite me telling them this was an issue for the last year (which was confirmed by O'Rileys and other reputable locations) stating that I would have to pay $3k to get this fixed. When corporate called me, they stated that because the issue was "found" after the 100,000 warranty, they will not cover it. I again emphasized how this issue was AFTER they replaced the engine at less than the 100k mile mark and they just now find the issue after a year of stating the issue, once I passed the mark. They continued to focus on this being outside the warranty NOW rather than when the issue started. I previously considered myself pro-Hyundai especially after the amazing customer service I received by Marty at this location who I even referred people to for their new purchases as well as informing him in January with my fiancée expecting, we would be looking for a Palisade and an upgraded Santa Fe for myself but this whole experience has left a horrible taste in my mouth More
