Although I didn't find this site until AFTER we had purchased our new car, I felt compelled to post a review based on what I read here. It seems that things have definitely changed at Herb Chambers Ho purchased our new car, I felt compelled to post a review based on what I read here. It seems that things have definitely changed at Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough since many of these reviews were posted. To be fair and give full disclosure, a friend knows their new sales manager, Greg, and suggested we check this place out. We bought a new Honda Accord from them in February and were very pleased with the experience. We worked with Philip and he provided us with the best car-buying experience either of us has ever had. (We're both 40ish and and have had our fair share of cars through the years.) The sales manager came from another dealership a few months ago, so the culture may have changed since some of these earlier reviews. I have had some unpleasant car buying experiences with dealers in the past, so I really feel for those of you that had a bad experience here. Just the day before we bought this Accord, we had a pushy salesman and let's-close-this-deal sales manager tag team experience at the Toyota dealership in Raynham. I HATE it when they do that! Anyway, for what it's worth, just wanted to throw in my $0.02. Good luck! More

The second time, I went to take delivery of a car my friend was buying. The sales guy ..some Fab..was really rushing us to take the vehicle and leave the place. When I started inspecting the vehicle, he got really pissed off. I tried to enquire about a service which my car needed and he was not willing to help me..He asked me if I was a mechanic, hence inspecting the car..When I discussed with him on warranty, he was way off on the facts and was not ready to listen to me.. I really wanted to service my car in this dealership and just because of this incident, I might not step there again. More
Ok, I was looking to buy a 2007 Accord EX-L with Navigation. I communicated via Edmund's dealer connection with Bernardi and Herb Chambers (both fairly close to where I live). Herb Chambers gave me Navigation. I communicated via Edmund's dealer connection with Bernardi and Herb Chambers (both fairly close to where I live). Herb Chambers gave me the better price. When I searched for directions I found this DelerRater.com site. Wow, the comments really scared me away. I emailed my contact at Herb Chambers and told him I would be going with Bernardi (even though they were a bit more expensive) due to these negative comments. My Chambers contact called me and politely tried to persuade me to give them a chance. He also referred to Honda's dealer ratings which he said were excellent (all based on customer surveys) He also offered to send it to me. He did admit they had some service issues but also said they recently had mgt change in both the sales and service. Thinking about it a bit I decided to give them a chance. I was quite surprised and impressed by the service I received. Perhaps they were hoping I would write this feedback. Well, I felt compelled to since they seemed to show me how they can be good. The young salesman Philip was extremely polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. Probably the best car salesman I have every come across. So we did buy the car. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. If it doesn't I will be sure to leave my comments back here. :) More
The worst sales people I've dealt with yet. They use the classic team up - the salesman runs to the sales manager and the manager comes over to pressure you by being rude. What the heck? I thought I would classic team up - the salesman runs to the sales manager and the manager comes over to pressure you by being rude. What the heck? I thought I would be treated like a king - after all it would be my hard earned money that I would be giving them. I guess I have too much faith in fellow humans. Maybe car dealers are a different breed altogether? hahaha! I would never buy from herb chambers. More
I went to the dealer to see a used minivan listed on their website. I was told it was actually at a different dealership in their chain. I explained I needed a base model with only one option: cruise co their website. I was told it was actually at a different dealership in their chain. I explained I needed a base model with only one option: cruise control. I was shown a very upscale (leather, powered doors, etc.) 3 year old used van that was $5000 more and in very poor condition....trashed carpeting and seats, many large scratches on the body, etc. I was then shown new ones but not the base model, when I expressed no interest they suddenly found "one" base model on the lot. I was then quoted a price at $2000 over invoice as a staring point...$11000 more than the used car I had come to see...and told that one would sell fast. In other words, every classic bait and switch move possible. The salesman was obviously uninterested in even beginning to work with me since he had ignored everything I had told him. More
I needed a spare tier cover. The part was ordered in early Feb and I have not got any calls from them until I called them in late May. I wanted to cancel the order and was told the manager would call me early Feb and I have not got any calls from them until I called them in late May. I wanted to cancel the order and was told the manager would call me back. Never got the call. Called again two weeks later and finally they agreed to refund the money. They asked me to go in for the refund. I went there last night and was told I had to go back again because the manager was not in. Finally my wife went there today for the refund and she was treated badly. No more business with them! You may wonder why I didn't call them sooner. The part was ordered along with other services and I didn't even know I was charged for it until I checked the invoice carefully later. Regardless, they should call me. By the way, only 1 person apologized to me even though I have talked to many of them. More
This is the worst dealership I have visited ever. I had taken in my Honda Odyssey for service and I had to make two trips. First trip ended up as a 3 hour wait after they told me that it will take about 90 taken in my Honda Odyssey for service and I had to make two trips. First trip ended up as a 3 hour wait after they told me that it will take about 90 minutes. I had to repeatedly ask them what the status was. Then I took it in yesterday since the replacement part had come in. I got a call at 4pm saying that the car was ready to pick up. The guy told me he will call me back in a minute with the exact cost of repair. I show up at the dealership an hour later, the paper work is not done, he tells me that the car i being vaccumed while it is sitting in the lot. After I asked that I get to speak to the service manager, things got rolling. There were other customers waiting there with complaints similar to mine. After all this, I find that there is a long scratch on the sliding doors that was not there when I took it in. Now I have to go back there to get this buffed. Stay away. There are better Honda dealers in the area. This place is the pits and too bad that they are associated with the name "Honda" More
Pathetic ! Overall experience .... Bernadi is bad too though they made the deal happen after the sales manager ridiculed the idea of even making an attempt for a deal ... they are not competitive and don though they made the deal happen after the sales manager ridiculed the idea of even making an attempt for a deal ... they are not competitive and dont know how to deal with customers More

Went into the dealership looking to buy a Fit Base Auto (MSRP, according to Honda, is $15,200). After taking a test drive, I was informed first that any car would have a 3 month waiting period before I go (MSRP, according to Honda, is $15,200). After taking a test drive, I was informed first that any car would have a 3 month waiting period before I got it (which later somehow became one month, after some pressure from me). They were unwilling to sell the base car on the lot, expected a $1000 dealer markup on all cars, and had only a Fit Sport auto on the lot which they were trying to sell for $18,750 (that's more like a Civic price!). If you are in the MetroWest area, shop Bernardi Honda in Natick, they have a much lower pressure tactic and are honest and upfront with the customer. More
