One experience does not typically paint a dealership a certain color but this experience told me a lot about Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk. Had bought a used Civic and had the 30K done here which include certain color but this experience told me a lot about Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk. Had bought a used Civic and had the 30K done here which included inspection of the brake pads among a myriad of services. At the time, Victor (service rep) and others were friendly and accomodating. 6 weeks later and a couple hundred miles later, took the car in for another reason and to my astonishment was told that the brake pads in front were 95% worn. No acknowledgement by Victor until I brought it up that this was unusual since the car just had a full service. Spoke to service manager who essentially admitted they had not checked the brakes but was more concerned about what this meant for the specific mechanic than for the customer. They agreed to do brakes at no charge and ensure that other services during 30K check were not missed. However, this was only the beginning. Went to pick up car and everyone from service had left but glove compartment hinges were not put back in place after they had checked a filter. In addition, a wrench was left behind on the driver seat. And this was after I had spent a good deal of time on phone with service manager. Called them after returning from trip to have glove compartment repaired and they told me "to call back when the people I had dealt with previously were there" and that "I would have to wait for the mechanic that worked on my car to be back" before they could address this problem. U might think the GM might know that such a blatant error had occurred in his service dept but you would be wrong. Went in to speak to him and he was very attentive but implied that someone moving the car must have left the wrench in the car and that it could not have been his mechanics. He attemped to place much of the blame on one of his employees who I had only really interacted with briefly over the phone. Seems that the higher you go up the ladder in this dealership, the more shameful it becomes. More

In August of 1992, the first weekend the dealership opened, my husband and I purchased our first Honda Accord. Since then, we have purchased six other Honda's (4 Accords, 1 Civic and 1 Pilot.) We opened, my husband and I purchased our first Honda Accord. Since then, we have purchased six other Honda's (4 Accords, 1 Civic and 1 Pilot.) We have had all of our service performed at this dealership from day one. The service staff has always been courteous and knowledgeable. If we had any issues Peter Slota or the prior service managers always followed thru to resolve them quickly. Sales Manager, Scott Birtles, has and continues to recognize us as a repeat customer and has made each sales experience an enjoyable one. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. I have been a customer at Herb Chambers of Seekonk since 2003 when I purchased a new Honda Accord. I bought my daughter's first vehicle here as well--a used 2004 Honda Accord Coupe. In the 6 years they have been servicing our vehicles, I have never encountered a problem. In the service department, Tim Islip, Victor and Paul G. are the BEST. They are friendly, extremely helpful and very professional. They go out of their way to accommodate their customers upon arrival, in the waiting area and upon completion of service. I really appreciate my car getting washed after each visit. Living in Providence, R. I., Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk is less than 15 minutes away and the service hours are extensive. I can assure you when purchasing my next vehicle it will be at this dealership. Scott Birtles, the General Manager, in my opinion is the reason this dealership is so successful and has the GREAT reputation it has built over the years. Service Dept personnel are very customer focused and take time to understand what the customer needs are. I have worked with different people in the service dept (Tim Islip, Victor Sousa and others)and the e time to understand what the customer needs are. We recently serviced our Honda Accord at Herb Chambers of Seekonk, which is also where we bought it. Our family has been doing business there since 1993. Scott is an excellent and exemplary general manager Seekonk, which is also where we bought it. Our family has been doing business there since 1993. Scott is an excellent and exemplary general manager, one of the best in the industry. We've known Tim in service just as long, and he always does an excellent job to meet our needs. Even the finance staff is great. Without question, I know the exceptional quality of what I get from Scott and his staff, because we have purchased and serviced other vehicles, i.e. Toyotas, as our second vehicle from other dealerships. Frankly, the only reason we own a Toyota Sienna minivan (as our second vehicle) instead of a Honda Odyssey is due to the fact that my husband requires a "rampvan", which we cannot obtain from Honda; an Odyssey cannot be modified with a lowered floor and a power ramp, etc. (Fortunately, Toyota is a great vehicle.) Perhaps Honda will get into the accessibility and mobility business one day. We have always had an exceptional experience at Herb Chambers. More
