I purchased my car from this dealership in 2005 and had a decent experience. The dealership is a little out of the way for me so I never had my car serviced by them in the past. This week I had an unfortun decent experience. The dealership is a little out of the way for me so I never had my car serviced by them in the past. This week I had an unfortunate and nerve wracking experience while driving on the highway on my morning commute to school. Thankfully I was only a few miles away from this Honda dealership and prayed that I would just make it there o.k. Upon arrival I was greeted pleasantly by Joel Piggot, a service advisor at this location. He was kind and courteous and quick to help me out. I am in a very intense accelerated nursing program at a university that is 85 miles away from my home. I had a full day of exams and lecture and being late to class would have resulted in me missing a ton of information. Knowing the situation Joel did everything he could to make my morning better. He got my car into service right away, he explained everything clearly and concisely, and worked to get me a loaner car so that I did not have to wait 45 minutes for the car rental business to open. I was in and out of there with a clean, fully gassed, loaner vehicle in under 15 minutes. In this day in age customer service is usually so far lacking. Joel epitomized what true customer service should look like. He was friendly, compassionate to my situation, knowledgeable, and competent. I was so impressed with how he handled my situation that morning and even more so when he called me ten minutes later to let me know the status of my repairs. It is usually the little things that can make all the difference and turn a bad situation into a better one. Herb Chambers should be very fortunate to have a dedicated employee like Joel working for them and he should be commended for his hard work, attention to detail, superb customer service skills, and for just being a downright good human being. After this experience I will now be having my car serviced at this location and will most likely be purchasing my next vehicle there! More

Tony found evidence of minor overheating/corrosion from improper parking brake use (not me, probably my wife!). No $$$ brake job; simple fix by sanding down drums/pads. Braking is still quiet after two months; job done. Also, plastic shield broken and hanging down underneath (not my wife, certainly me backing over obstacle!). Rather than replace the part at $175, Tony repaired supporting areas w/ special wire/washers. This kind of service is important to me (or any customer) because the fixes were effective and inexpensive. Thanks Tony! Henry More

I did it !I was thrilled. Tim took my service order for maintenance and was great! I had to "train" myself to be patient and wait for the "wrench" light for the oil change and was panicked because the first time I did, it came on the morning the day before the Storm! They took me that night and were able to appraise my car during the maintenance. Tim made an effort to congratulate me on the purchase and the sales department paid for the maintenance! Doesn't get much better than that! But it does! My other regret besides the color of my fit was that I had not put the "auto start" feature in so I decided to add that before I took the new car. All of the people I have dealt with at this Dealership have given me EXCELLENT service. Including the 'finance' guy from the original purchase (I tried to find his picture above but was not sure which one BUT I do remember that experience as favorable as well'. I can hardly wait to pick up my new fit when it arrives and I anticipate that experience to go just as well. PRIOR to Herb Chambers experience, I had found car salesmen to be rude,pushy,'shifty' and would not have even considered the dealership maintenance because they had ALL been just AWFULL on the first scheduled maintenance(I always tried to start at the dealership first for maintenance but never continued after 1st visit) NOT the case at THIS Herb Chambers. I am a 53 year old woman and this is the 8th car I have bought. this is also the 1st time I buy a 2nd car from the SAME dealership! More
I’ve come here for service a few times for my 2007 Civic and have been assisted by Joel. I’ve been very impressed each time. Today was my first time visiting this dealer, the employees were awesome, service was fast and prices were great! I have been dealing with Herb Chambers of Seekonk for more years than I can count. Scott runs a spendid dealership. In the Service Department there is no one better than Tim Islip. He has been taking care of my Honda service needs for over 15 years. This is a true gentelman. Always extremely curteous, always willing to go out of his way to provide a pleasent experience every time I take my Honda for service. We were younger when we met, but Tim has always been the same. Always ready willing and able to make you feel important and feel like my business is important to the dealership. If when I go in he happens to be working, I go to no one else, even if he is busy with another customer. Scott is blessed to have such an employee in his service department. I’ve always allowed Herb Chambers to perform routine service to my 2008 Civic Si, but when I went in to the dealership to have a standard oil change and maintenance check, without an appointment, I was asked if I had any coupons, I answered “No, this was unplanned and wasn’t able to print any”. The service writer proceeded to take out of his pocked and apply it my account. I said, “You don’t need to do that, it’s your own personal coupon for your car”. He said, “It’s all set, my wife has more for her car”. I thanked him for his generosity and professional he bestowed upon me for this simple act of kindness. I said “If the mechanic finds any problems, please correct them, you have my permission” He said that he would never perform any service without approval. I need to mention the service department was busy, and the waiting room was filled with customers (I counted 10) waiting for their service to be completed. I knew it was probably to be longer that the hour wait, but I figured I’d work on my laptop while I waited. Within the next hour, I was informed the car was complete and no other problems were evident and I was “all set”. Thank you Timothy M. Islip for your generosity, your professionalism, and your positive attitude you carried throughout your day. Herb Chambers is fortunate to have such an admirable employee representing their company. What an amazing experience. The first thing I have to do is thank Tim Islip for being patient and understanding with the very many questions I threw at him during my time there. Now for the story; I pur is thank Tim Islip for being patient and understanding with the very many questions I threw at him during my time there. Now for the story; I purchased a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid with 70K miles last year in March from Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk. Despite maintaining regular checkups and maintenence, it developed a judder problem at 100K miles and began to become a nightmare to drive. I took it in to Honda and asked about their warranty for said issue and was told that mine had expired (105K or 7 years, my 7 ended in April). I was very frustrated at first, after all, how can my transmission be going after one year of having the car? They handed me the paper work on it and told me the steps they would have to take the car through, and that it could get expensive. A new transmission after burnishing the clutch? Yuck. Well there was a clause on the paper about out of warranty extensions, and both Victor and Tim worked damned hard to make sure I was covered. They had me go through the process necessary to identify the exact issue, and when it was discovered they took care of everything for me. No fighting with my insurance, no headache over payment plan. Just service. Simple, excellent service. After they got involved and Tim handled my situation himself, I left with a smile. This could have become very contensious and very stressful, but it never approached anywhere near either of those. I am still stunned about the level of service they provided me. Everyone goes through crap with bad mechanics, poorly done repairs and money grubbers who try to pinch us. You will not find that here. Maintain your car like they suggest (doing regular oil and such there) and they WILL take care of you. I will be doing any recommended services that comes my way from this point on. More
