This was my second experience with Herb Chambers, but my first with Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington. I did most of my offer and quote work via e-mail and over the phone. I was looking for a specific vehicle of a specific color and this dealer was the only one in the area with that had one in stock. I was not interested in a dealer swap, which was offered by many other dealers. I spoke with Lindsay over the phone. I told her the specifics of what I was looking for and she searched her inventory. I was pleased to hear she had one in stock. I sent her e-mail quotes from other dealerships and she came back with a quote of about 500 dollars higher. We eventually negotiated the price down $200.00 and I drove to the dealership to make the deposit. When I arrived to the dealership I asked for Lindsay. She greeted me in the showroom and thanked me for my business. She was courteous, professional and very friendly. She explained that Sergio would help me and close the deal. Sergio, like Lindsay, was helpful, professional and pleasurable to work with. He was clear, concise and accurate with all of the information that he gave me. I did not feel pressured or given any erroneous information. Nor do I feel I was the victim of the bait and switch tactics that plague many car dealerships. The price given on the phone was the price I paid...excluding the obvious title, tax and registration fees which were to be expected. Once finished in the showroom, I was brought into the finance office and sat with Greg P. (there are two Greg’s that work in finance at this dealership). Greg's service paralleled that of Lindsay and Sergio. He was attentive and listened to what I wanted and expected. I was originally approved for a finance rate higher than I was willing to sign for. I expressed my concern and told him it was unacceptable. I told him the rate that I would accept, and by the next morning (I arrived late Friday night) I was approved. We discussed the other back-office products (extended warranty, tire insurance etc.) I purchased Venture Shield (which I intended to before arriving at the dealership) and told him I was not interested in anything else. He was very receptive and was more informative than an aggressive finance office salesman. The car was at Herb Chambers port in Charlestown. Sergio left immediately after our dealings to go pick up the vehicle and take it to the dealership, though I left prior to him returning. I came in the very next day (Friday) to give my agreed upon down payment. I was greeted with the same friendly manner by both Sergio and Greg, who both remembered my name. I did not see Lindsay, though I believe she works in the offices on the second floor of the dealership. Sergio brought my car to the front of the dealership so that I could see it before leaving. I have a demanding schedule and sent Lindsay an e-mail on the following Monday to ask when the car would be ready for pick-up. I received a reply within 5 minutes which read that Venture Shield was already installed and that Sergio was on his way back to the dealership with the title in hand. She gave me Sergio's cell-phone number (at his request) and I called him to inquire when the vehicle would be ready. To my surprise, he said tonight. I am going to pick up the vehicle this evening and could not be happier with the service that I received from Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington. Call and ask for Lindsay…or walk into the dealership and ask for Sergio. More

I purchased a Civic here nearly a year ago and my husbands car broke down last week so we were in the market for another vehicle. We decided to go back to Herb Chambers since we had such a great experience last time. My husband picked out a new Accord and loves it! Never go here. They will rip you off. The regulator knob for my a/c wasn't working at 1 & 2 but working at 3 & 4. They said they will have to replace the motor and the resistor for 800$. Since I know about for my a/c wasn't working at 1 & 2 but working at 3 & 4. They said they will have to replace the motor and the resistor for 800$. Since I know about this I asked them why the motor it works at 3 &4 . He went to 'enquire' and came back saying we will only replace the resistor for 100 bucks. These people are total rip off. I wonder if Herb paid off the JD Powers guys to get that reward. Be smart never go to a Herb dealer. More

After numerous emails with a representative I arrived for an appointment. I expected a sales person to be familiar with my needs (isn't that why I emailed them?)but ended up starting all over. After several minutes I directly asked how much was the car I wanted & was given a verbal price. He then left to get an estimate for my trade in and returned with a totally different figure-highter than what I was just quoted. He denied making the earlier quote (I had a witness)& refused to budge. I chose to walk out & the salesperson followed me asking "you mean you would walk out when we are only $200 apart?" I replied "yes, when you will not honor your origional quote". Voices on both sides became very vocal. I emailed my original contact and asked to be removed from their computer files. I have not heard from anyone following up on this incident. Very poor salesmanship, very poor customer service. More

Just went to buy a 2009 honda fit with navi. Cash payment on my part. Want to do the deal quickly. Sales person agrees to a deal, and then Lindsay, his manager quickly tells me that they're going to have to on my part. Want to do the deal quickly. That's the highest dealer markup in the country (trust me I've called around) and represents almost 10% of the price of the car. Long story short, no deal and no good review for this dealer. -I set my sites on a the Honda Ridgeline after test driving a RTL in 2007 and finding out that it parked in my garage with plenty of room to keep my tools. -Every time I called, Honda was not offering driving a RTL in 2007 and finding out that it parked in my garage with plenty of room to keep my tools. -Every time I called, Honda was not offering the low APRs and cash back until. -This past Saturday I stumbled on an add from a local Honda dealership in Fitchburg (Ron Bouchard's) for $7K off MSRP on all 2008 Ridgelines + 0% APR for up to 36 months or 2.9% for up to 60 months. -I naturally called the Dealership and they confirmed the add but only had 4 left (2 RTs & 2 RTS', no RTL). They closed at 5 pm also and I was not about to wait. -Being a 2 time new owner of Herb chambers cars I called Herb Chamber's of Burlington and spoke to Jillian who confirmed over the phone that they had 10 in stock with 3 RTLs (I thought the sunroof, compass & homelink features + leather for less than $3K extra was nice). She also said they could better Ron Bouchard's and take $7K-$10K off MSRP plus Honda's 0%APR for up to 36 months or 2.9% for up to 60 months financing. She was rather hasty and it was difficult to get specific answers from over the phone. She asked me to come in since they were opened until 9pm and I did. -I drove 1 hour out of my way only to find out that Jilian had left for the day when I asked for her. I worked with Amjad Aslam who was professional and rather robotic. -After checking with the manager on duty, Aslam said I can get $K off the MSRP but without the 0% or 2.9% APR financing or get $6K off MSRP + 0% or 2.9% APR financing. I pointed out that this contradicted what Jillian told me over the phone to lure into the dealership. -I was disappointed that they couldn't even match the $7K off + 0% or 2.9% APR financing let alone do better at $7K-10K off as promised over the phone. -It got worse when Aslam entered the info on my trade in w/o even examining the car the conveniently left out features like moonroof and TCS so that the Kbb value was significantly low. -It was a good thing I had done my research prior to going and pointed out that I was not going agree to the transaction know that I was not getting a fair deal. -I left went back to Ron Bouchard's Fitchburg the next day and they still had the RTS which I bought for $7K off MSRP + 2.9% APR for 60 months and got great value for my trade. -I was pleasantly surprised when the sales person personally introduced me to the Service manager and Assistant service manager. -Thanks to Ron Bouchard's Fitchburg I am a proud Honda owner and looking forward to working with their service department. -After buying 2 new cars from different Herb Chambers dealerships, I have learned that the chain is ran like a fast food restaurant, the deal is sweet as long as you didn't do any research to know you are getting screwed and will regret it as soon as you drive off the lot with your purchase. -I will avoid herb Chambers like I do fast (junk) food restaurants. Spoke to woman in the service department. She was very rude. I do believe she had no customer service training. I will not be doing business with them again. She could have given me the answer simply by saying "If there was no accident or damage to the part physically by blunt trauma, then it would be covered by warrantee", but instead she would not even look it up. She said simply that the car must be brought in to be looked at. I think she was lazy. She definately was rude. No apology. No flexibility. More

The agent suggested in begining the it was just 90 k service and little change in break so it would come to 600 bucks. Later he put so many other things like Bush change and tire rotation which was not necessary as I just had bought all new tire couple of months before. The most needed things was break because it was reaaly in bad shape. Rotor was damaged , so after requesting 10 time what they did was replacing the break pad. My rotors are still the old ones after Paying almost $"1500". I never go there again. Then my remote key is also not working now they kept it and told that it will be fixed but I dont know when. Conclusion avoid this place as much as possible. More
