This was a great car-buying experience! Benito, our salesperson, and Brandy, in the Finance Dept, were wonderful! We were in and out within 3-4 hours, and we just felt good about the purchase process. salesperson, and Brandy, in the Finance Dept, were wonderful! We were in and out within 3-4 hours, and we just felt good about the purchase process. There was none of that seedy finagling that makes you feel suckered at the end. Herb Chambers has definitely made us faithful customers. Thank you! More
I am a self-professed car guy - vehicles are more than point A to B to me. I do my homework and I have a gut feel for what I want and what it should cost. I don't like giving money to car dealers who don' point A to B to me. I do my homework and I have a gut feel for what I want and what it should cost. I don't like giving money to car dealers who don't recognize that this is both an emotional and rational purchase for me. Three weeks or so before I planned to buy my next vehicle, I "popped into the dealership" with my young kids. The new Jeep GC was atop my list and I wanted to sit in one and just get an initial feel b/c the FX35 was next on the list and I've had good luck with Infiniti but the Detroit origin was compelling. So, Miguel (whom I never met before) meets me out front while I'm looking a demo Overland - he opens it up, I put the kids in the back seat and I start to take a look. Kids are crazy, Miguel is cool - good start b/c I'm trying to determine if this is the type of place that will aggravate me. I tell him obviously I'm not having a conversation now but I'll be in touch and he hands me a card. I emailed him a few weeks later - with stock #'s of 3 vehicles on their lot that have all of the possible option combinations I care about and that I'll be in the next morning around 9:30 so have them out front b/c I'm bringing the 'boss'. Miguel calls the next morning around 9AM and says they're ready. I was on my way there anyway to see if I'd get a response to the email. I get there, vehicles are ready, we drive, we close in on the combination I want quickly and I already know which stock # I want b/c I had their inventory with me - with the internet prices, invoice prices, my trade values, dealer hold backs, my target price, the whole nine. We're ready to talk $, and the sales manager joins the conversation. I give the model number for the new one I want as well as the demo that is 10ft away - the one my kids tormented, I think. I simply state - "make your best offer first - I've done the research and I have a trade number and Jeep number in my head - you meet or beat the net number, I buy; you don't I move on." They come back with a number - they beat my number (sorry guys). Awesome - but the black one I want is gone (Henry Ford shivers). Their sister dealer had one (I had their inventory too). The sales manager makes some calls and works it out and Miguel offers to get it this week, very nice of him. We meet Steve, we get the paperwork done without much fanfare and I get the Jeep a couple of days later. All good. So my advice is to do your homework - a vehicle is a big $$$ purchase and you can "win" an honest negotiation in many cases. Dealers deal - the unprepared set all the things into motion that people complain about - the tactics, the games, etc. Do your research, be honest about where you are at in the process (whether you have other models to look at, kicking tires, prepared to purchase, etc.) Prepare your negotiating parameters - have a researched, viable number in your head before the process starts. Know the vehicles and how they are optioned so if there is something close on the lot you like, you can recalc your target price on the fly. In the end, they sold a car and I got a great deal because my wife and I were prepared and I told Miguel at the onset if the pieces fell into place, we'd buy. Find the right vehicle, then the price. I never gave them a target price for my trade or the Jeep - I gave them the confidence that I would buy if they were serious about selling and I had a number in my head that I felt was mutually fair. Miguel and team were straight-shooters and so was I - no drama. While we were waiting, a couple was behind us trying to negotiate without a plan - salesperson took them apart in 5 min not because he was a bad guy but because the 'buyers' weren't prepared and he was able to discern that with a few questions and determine it was a waste of his time. He was right. Do your homework, then go see Miguel if this dealer has vehicles that you're interested in. More

They helped me get into a new vehicle because the one i had was in the shop and wasn't worth getting it fixed. Helped work around the price, Brian made my mother laugh which is very good. Needed a new light they changed it and i am still working on them getting the scratch out of the jeep that i have just bought so hopefully that will be fixed to, but i don't have any doubts on them not helping me out with that one. Every one that we delt with was very and friends. I wish we went here first instead of wasting our time at the "little town of Mendon" dealership. Every one that we delt with was very helpful and made our process fast and easy. Mike was great! There was no pressure to buy. We told them were we needed to be for payments and what we wanted to spend and they did it! At the other dealership we wasted 7 hours and when we went here we accomplished everything within an hour and half and drove home in a new Jeep. Thank you guys for all of your help! This will be the only dealership that we ever go to!!!! :) More

I'm one of those people who has, shall we say, "shaky" credit. I drive a five year old Mitsubishi and it had problems. I've been working to resurrect my credit (I was a bad boy when I was younge "shaky" credit. I drive a five year old Mitsubishi and it had problems. I've been working to resurrect my credit (I was a bad boy when I was younger) and get into a new vehicle. Brian in the Internet Department was able to find me a Liberty that I liked; Miguel took me on the test drive and answered any questions I had about the SUV - Brian Lindsey fought for payments I could stomach and got me a great deal. I would recommend these guys to anyone with shaky credit - their Second Chance Financing program is second to none. More
After visiting some other car dealerships and getting the "run around" I visited Dennis Burke over at Herb Chambers. I told him the car I wanted and he didn't pressure me into a different car (sometimes the "run around" I visited Dennis Burke over at Herb Chambers. I told him the car I wanted and he didn't pressure me into a different car (sometimes they do that). He understood that was the car I wanted and he made it happen. Very friendly and accommodating. Brian Lindsey in the financing department did everything he could do get me the best rate. There was no pressure or sales gimmicks. This was by far the best car buying experience I ever had! I would recommend this dealership to anyone! More
