Buyer Beware: Triple Check your Deal Buyer Beware: I've been a long time Jeep owner, and just signed for my second lease with Herb Chambers in Millbury about a month ago. Both times I Buyer Beware: I've been a long time Jeep owner, and just signed for my second lease with Herb Chambers in Millbury about a month ago. Both times I've signed deals with Herb, the process seemed seemingly painless - no haggling, just a quick sale, in-and-out. Now for the bad: In both deals, the salesmen have left Herb Chambers within 30-days of the deals (not sure what that says about management, but I digress). On my most recent lease signing, the salesman promised that Herb Chambers would "buyout" my remaining 3 payments, which I've now come to find out a month later they did not follow through on. When attempting to contact workers at Herb Chambers, I was repeatedly put on hold and told there was no one to take my call so I had to leave a voicemail for their return sales manager. After about a month of leaving non-returned voicemails, I reached out again and asked to speak to a sales manager directly. Finally getting somewhere, I was pointed once again to the Returning Sales Manager, who this time picked up but informed me that his "voicemail has been messed up for over a month and he hasn't been able to get any messages". This same returning sales manager, who mind you acknowledged that final lease payments would be paid at time of original lease return, then informed me that the deal had not been listed on the paperwork correctly, and that I'd need to talk to the General Sales Manager, but that he was already gone for the day and it would be in my best interest to drive down today. So today, I drove from work (45 minutes away) to Herb Chambers, where the GSM, gently redirected me speak with a few different people with titles ie- finance manager and sales manager. The sales manager brought me to a room and basically said that even though the salesman who was in charge of the deal verbally said my remaining payments would be made, there was now "nothing they could do" as it was not written explicitly on the deal (which only mentions "We owe on new vehicle: None".) As the customer, how am I supposed to know that means you are not paying off my original lease? Despite explaining to the Sales Manager that the deal amount was explicitly changed and the price increased to roll in the final payments on the first lease, and him acknowledging that other deals had gone poorly like this with this salesman, he was unwilling to do anything other than say "I'm sorry" and send me on my way. I'm extremely disappointed in this experience, and will not be returning. To any buyers who walk through the Herb Chambers doors, beware of your deal/contract and look it over with a fine tooth comb. Herb Chambers has proven that they do NOT care about the customer after a deal has taken place, and they find loopholes to make sure they do not have to follow through with deals they've made. To Herb Chambers: Instead of asking your customers at deal signing to "Please give us a 5-star review", how about you follow through on your salesman's promises, care for your customers, and earn your desired 5-star reviews genuinely. For clarity: The remaining payments in total were under $1,500 - an amount that one would think dealerships would not scoff at to keep a customer. Just goes to show that they only care about themselves. More
