Looking for a used car? Stay away. I was in the market for a used car and had my options narrowed down to a handful, including the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. I was looking for the V6, manual-transmission versions of both, anywhere from 2012 - 2014. An Internet search led me to Herb Chambers Chevrolet, as their website indicated they had one Mustang that qualified, and several Camaros. I called the dealership and spoke to Andrea, who was extremely friendly and helpful. She confirmed that the cars were on the lot, confirmed that I could come by and test drive them, and took my number so she could call me if any of the cars were sold or moved before I could come in. Several hours later a friend and I were at the dealership, and were quickly greeted by Clinton. I let him know I had called earlier about looking at the used V6 manual Mustang and Camaros, and he flatly stated, "We don't have any of those here." I clarified that I had spoken with Andrea on the phone, and her and the website both indicated otherwise, and could he set me off in the right direction if I was in the wrong place. Clinton let me know that Andrea "works in another building," and conceded that they did in fact have a used Mustang with a V6. The Mustang was a different car from the one on the website (and was an automatic) but I thought a test drive might still be informative and so we filled out the requisite paperwork and were off. During the drive Clinton was somewhat understandably (as a Chevy dealer) unkind to the Mustang. He did seem to have some enthusiasm for the Corvette, a great car, but assured us that neither I or my friend could afford one (my friend owns two). Returning to the dealership, Clinton made no effort to show me around any of the Camaros on the lot, and seemed rather indifferent to finding out what I was looking to purchase or when. We left at that point, and I purchased a car from a different dealer the next day. More

He went above and beyond my expectations with my repairs, providing me with alternative transportation and returning my vehicle back to me ASAP. Quick Recall Service My new 2013 Chevy Cruze was recalled and within a week of calling and scheduling an appointment, they brought it right in and had it looked at. Car Delership hater for repairs! I love my regular local mechanic, but he couldn't figure out what was happening with my car. I had NO choice but, to bring my car to a dealership for repairs. I always feel like I am going to get ripped off! Herb Chambers proved me wrong! They were on the money. (My brother-in-law is a mechanic in Maine so I double checked everything.) And the customer service was GREAT! John put me in a rental car without me needed to ask, beg or fight with him. Herb Chamber of Danvers has exceeded my expectations! I will definitely go back with no reservations!!!! The price and customer service was RIGHT! More

We live in central Connecticut so it was rather a long drive to even go look for the car. We called the dealership first to confirm the car was their, this was a Sunday. We drove to Danvers Chevrolet first thing in the morning on Monday, we were met by a very cheerful salesman named Corey Stewart. Corey brought the car up for us to look at. As we had explained we were very serious about the purchase and did not want to spend half the day at the dealership as we still had to work for the day. True to their word we were able to wrap up negotiation's on the Car in short order . We were able to negotiate a reasonable price and a good deal on my trade, unlike other dealers I have been to, they were understanding of my needs on my trade as well as realistic in their first offer. I can tell you we went to a number of dealers who offers on my trade as well as their price for their car were insulting at best. We all understand that a dealer needs to make a profit, this dealer understood not to insult my intelligence, we all have access to the internet, it amazes me how many dealers still want to work on selling cars like they did in the 70's. I found the dealership to be refreshing and a straight shooter. Unfortunately we were unable to pick up the car up that day, as the registration on our car was from Connecticut. The dealership sent someone to transfer the plates for us later that week, we did have a paper work issue that had to be resolved and one quick call to the sales manager and the issue was resolved. Corey then drove the car to the Connecticut border to meet my wife and deliver the new car and pick up our trade. Thank you for a pleasant buying experience. The Bruce's More
