I had not considered getting a used BMW before my husband started looking at a new car at the Sudbury dealership. He was working with James Affannato and suggested I talk to him and see what used X5s they h started looking at a new car at the Sudbury dealership. James convinced me that these cars were made extremely well and held their value, and would be a better purchase (and much more fun to drive!) than a new Honda, Acura, or Nissan SUV. James emailed or called often to let me know what cars were available and I went in twice to test-drive a few options. We both targeted a particular X5 (with perfect mileage, price, color, and equipment for my needs) that was in the Boston dealership. He had it brought to Sudbury and I drove it a few times. It was very easy dealing with James and he was clearly knowledgeable about the car. I felt he was honest with me (even agreeing that one model with a larger engine and more $$$ wasn't worth it for my needs) and enjoyable to work with. More
We had a rocky start at this dealership. We spoke with at least three different sales people, and a sales manager, none of whom called us back or followed up. We were trying to buy a new 5 Series, but it truly felt like they didn't want us to buy a car. Then, one day when I complained while having our other car serviced, the service person took me over to the sales floor and personally introduced me to James Affanato. I was skeptical because of what we had already experienced, but from the moment we met James, our entire sales experience changed. James was great. He has a sense of humor but doesn't waste your time. He listened to what we wanted and called us back, and when we had additional questions, he always followed up. He gave us just the right amount of assistance when we needed to figure out the complex array of available features and options while ordering, and he was gracious about teaching us to use them once the car came in. He is patient and thorough -- two good qualities to have when you are selling high-end cars with a lot of complex options. We have a new 5 Series and James continues to follow up with us. We felt as if he wanted us to buy the car -- we didn't have to chase him down, as we had with other staff in the past. Well done, James! We'll be back. More

Even though I'm in Sales as a career, going through the process of researching, visiting, test driving, buying a car ranks near the bottom in terms of how best to spend your time. Well, the gentlemen at Chambers BMW in Sudbury made this a painless process. Jim Affannato, Sales Exec., did an outstanding job all throughout the process of answering my questions and was very pro-active in terms of ensuring this process went as smooth as possible-- i.e. having the car available for test driving, demonstrating and describing the features of this 2008 750Li and simply being a consummate professional throughout. Chris Rich, Sales Mgr., was integral as he was the first person I met on the showroon floor- Chris took the time to listen- a sometimes lost art in the world of sales- and my interaction with him was key for me wanting to return and transact business. Michael Davis, though he's a Chicago Bears fan,(he'll learn), was extremely helpful in a critical area of the business; the financing. He took the time to explain the different finance programs that were available to me and through our conversation was able to tailor a program that aligned well to my needs. Lastly, the great service I received didn't end at the signature of the agreement, they've been keenly responsive to questions I've had after the purchase as well. I've had great service at Herb Chambers BMW throughout the years and now, no surprise, the purchase of my 750Li was handled exactly how I'd like my sales organization to work with our customers. I was shopping for a new BMW 328xi and had a terrible experience at Herb Chambers. The sales person and the manager tried playing the "bait & switch" game with me since the model that I wanted wasn't ava experience at Herb Chambers. The sales person and the manager tried playing the "bait & switch" game with me since the model that I wanted wasn't available at the dealership. When I turned down the final offer because it was missing the security system that I wanted, the manager told me that he was "done with me". In addition, I filled out a complaint form on the Herb Chambers site and never heard back from anyone. I ended up buying the car at Wagner BMW of Shrewsbury. (much better experience - they treat you with respect) More
I bought a beautiful used 335i coupe in Space Gray with a manual 6 speed and all three of the above helped immeasurably in my making the decision. I bought the car I traded in from Joe 10 years ago so it really helped to see him when I went to go see this car with my wife. It was totally coincidental and was a nice touch because we really felt like he was excellent on our first purchase of a BMW 325i. Jim and Chris were extremely helpful as well and instilled much confidence in spite of us being completely wishy washy about the whole purchase. My wife bought her Mini Cooper s Clubman from Herb Chambers too and that lead us wanting to buy a used car from that dealership. We initially purchased the 325i that I traded in from Foreign N Motors West. Chris is a confidence inspiring professional while James is very personable, genuine and nice. Both can be said for both. Kosta Pappas is an exceptional General Manager; he was delightful to work with in coordinating the new car purchase and the return of our previously leased 3 series. His attention to detail ensured that our experience was exactly what we wanted. Our salesman, Peter Vargo, sold us a certified pre-owned X3 in July 2010. We returned to him for the present BMW 2011 X3 purchase because he was pleasant and easy to deal with and always promptly responded to our many emails and telephone messages. In addition, Chris Rich, helped make the entire process of returning the lease vehicle seamless. They are a dedicated team. We are recommending Sudbury BMW to all our friends. More

What can I say? James Affanato made the experience of getting a new car the best I've ever had! My husband and I went to Sudbury BMW late last summer and did a test drive of a 325xi but weren't ready t getting a new car the best I've ever had! Jim touched based with us AT LEAST once a month to see if we were ready, but we never were quite there... :) I knew my husband really loved the car, so I decided to surprise him and make all the arrangements to lease the "car of his dreams" and make it a Christmas present. Because of his attention over the fall (that was never aggressive or nagging), I knew James was the salesperson to call. He understood my preferences and helped me get EXACTLY the car I wanted--never trying to convince me I might want something else just because it was on the lot). He worked enthusiastically to locate the car (which has its own story) and then kept me up to date on where it was in the delivery process. I happen to know now that James was pretty sick right around Christmas, but he always answered my emails and text messages promptly. I think he was as disappointed as I was when the car got held up for delivery due to weather on the East Coast....But it did get here in time for New Year's Eve! And I think he was as excited as I was to see my husband's reaction to the shiny red BMW with a bow waiting for him in front of the showroom. James went the extra mile, right up to the very end--pushing everyone on his team to help us line up all the paperwork for insurance, plates, and financing on New Year's Eve day! I will be happy to tell anyone thinking about a BMW to be in touch with James! More
