I have no other means of transport and depend on my car . They had me on my way again after only 2 hours. I am so grateful to them and their swift, polite and expert response to my difficulties. This is the second time I have found service at Herb Chambers in Boston to be excellent. I drove my car off Rt. 128 all the way to Herb Chambers on Commonwealth knowing that I would get the best available service. I was not disappointed. Thank you, thank you! More
Very poor service, they take customers for granted. Feels like they do not need the business. Long wait, and no one offers to help or asks if you are being helped. I've been taking my BMW to Herb Chambers for the past two and a half years for regular service as well as for issues that I refer to as brain teasers because their causes have rarely been immediately app two and a half years for regular service as well as for issues that I refer to as brain teasers because their causes have rarely been immediately apparent. Matt Baker, my service rep, has been exceptional at working closely with service, keeping me updated on the progress of the diagnosis or repair, securing a loaner for me, and getting me back into my car as soon as possible. Regarding the repairs, they have always been completed correctly the first time and the costs have been comparable to non-dealership repair shops specializing in German cars. Further, every single person you encounter, from the gentleman that escorts you out of you car to the one that escorts you back in, is truly friendly, helpful, and customer focused. Herb Chambers takes customer service seriously. So, if you're looking for professional repairs by BMW experts at comparable prices and exceptional customer service, I can't imagine why you would go anywhere else. More

I was disappointed and insulted by the lack of professionalism at the parts department at Herb Chambers BMW Boston. I will provide some data from my perspective so that others may be able to bene professionalism at the parts department at Herb Chambers BMW Boston. I will provide some data from my perspective so that others may be able to benefit from my experiences and decide for themselves. At a minimum, one moral of the story is: If you live in New Hampshire, call from a Boston area phone for a quote, they use caller ID and you will receive a better price due to a “more competitive market”. I called the parts department for quote on two BMW original equipment Rims that I needed to replace. After providing the VIN they were able to locate two in stock and quoted a price of $359.91 each, and provided me with a Quote #. After checking with the Peabody dealer and finding they only had one in stock (quoted the same price), I called Herb Chambers back, provided my quote # and reserved the Rims – I was then provided an invoice #. When the rims were picked up an hour later the invoice read: $479.58 each. A 33% increase. The responses provided (in order) 1) “$479.58 is the list price, we didn’t realize you were quoted something lower” (Peabody quoted the same $359.91 price) 2) “Sorry, we thought you needed Rear rims not front rims” (VIN # shows all 4 rims are the same, and the right rim was provided) 3) “I’m sorry, this was my fault (manager), I didn’t want to keep you on hold long, so I had <someone else> process your order, and it was a clerical error. We are fixing it now” After writing a letter to the dealership, the GM apologized for the error saying it was due to two customers calling from different “markets” (NH vs MA) at the same time that led to the confusion, and that this never happens. A request for a written response on how the clerical error was made was refused, even though this would have made me more comfortable trusting their services in the future. This error caused just a couple hundred dollars in potential losses (whether intentional or not). What if the error were replacing the wrong brakes or an error in some other service that could pose a risk to the driver? More

My place of employment is entirely out of given excellent service. The service advisers are attentive, communicate and accommodate whenever possible. My place of employment is entirely out of the way of any service shuttle pick-up staff, but the team at this service center always pick-up and drop me off right in front. Theyre thoughtful and considerate and my car has always been in tip top shape after leaving the center! More
Dan Small is a special talent. I really enjoy speaking and seeing him for service. He is really knowledgeable as a trained mechanic, friendly and a great listener. He also has an amazing demeanor. I hope BMW finds a way to keep him working there for a long time. I love evaluating talent and finding truly exceptional people at what they do. A guy like Dan is who I would choose to build a service franchise around. More
On Jan 3rd 2011, between the 6th and 7th floors of the Childrens Hospital Parking Garage, myself, my family and my car were faced with a dire situation. At about 3pm I returned to my 1995 BMW 525i to fin Childrens Hospital Parking Garage, myself, my family and my car were faced with a dire situation. At about 3pm I returned to my 1995 BMW 525i to find that I was unable to start the car. Not only that, but the key no longer unlocked the steering wheel or the transmission. So basically the key did nothing except turn. My parents got me the gift of AAA, so I attempted to use their services. Four hours, a cracked steering column, two locksmiths, and two tow trucks later I was still stuck. You see I created the ‘Perfect Storm’ with regards to my untowability. My car is rear wheel drive, my front tires were turned hard over at a 45deg angle, and I was in a low clearance garage on the 7th floor. Any one factor could be removed and I could have been towed, but all three made my car a 1 ½ Ton paperweight. I called BMW Peabody a few times trying to get help and to see if they knew of anyway to get my car unstuck. They balked and told me I was out of solutions. It was maddening, how could over a half dozen professionals tell me my car is forever stuck in a Hospital garage. I have a special needs child and I come to the hospital regularly and I only have one car so this situation was so frustrating. Someone mentioned Herb Chambers BMW and that I should give them a call. I didn’t feel that it would be promising but I was out of ideas. So I called at about 7pm, closing time, and was lucky enough to cross paths with Dan. Dan listened to my situation, and actually cared to help, unlike most of the others that were supposed to be there to help. He said that the techs went home for the day but he would find a solution for me and get back to me first thing the next day. Promptly at 8am the next day I got a call from Dan saying that he is ordering the part I need and secured a tech to come out to my car and get me underway. I almost fainted with unexpected joy. The day the part came in I met Edwin and Joe on the 7th floor of the garage. Edwin worked a minor miracle as Joe and I held flashlights like professionals. After a few hours my over three day ordeal was over. They are amazing people at Herb Chambers BMW and all I really have to give is word of mouth. I am spreading the good word about Herb Chambers and I thank them for giving me that opportunity. More
I brought my 2006 BMW330xi in for a minor issue- the tire pressure indicator had gone on. While my problem was quickly fixed, unfortunately the guy pulling my car around ran into another customer's car and pressure indicator had gone on. While my problem was quickly fixed, unfortunately the guy pulling my car around ran into another customer's car and there was minor damage to my bumper. Scott immediately came out to express his apologies and to ensure that my car would be fixed immediately. He asked me to let him know when I wanted to drop off the car and he had a rental waiting for me. Over the weekend, before I dropped the car off, I was again unfortunate and another car side-swiped me while I was parked. Scott worked with me to get all of the work done immediately after the other driver's insurance company accepted liability. He even made sure that several other dings and scratches that had nothing to do with either incident were fixed as well. He kept in constant communication and his service was absolutely amazing. I just picked up my car and it looks amazing- fully detailed and almost like new. I understand that sometimes stuff happens. But it's what you do in those sutuations that truly defines what you are as a service organization. Thanks to Scott's handling of this situation I truly feel as though Herb Chambers BMW is the gold standard for customer service in the industry. Thanks! More
