Herb Chambers BMW of Boston is an excellent dealership with a fantastic service department. I have been a customer there for several years and bought 3 cars from them. The service center of Herb Chambers BMW is organized and operated poorly. I asked in before making my appointment if they did work beyond oil changes and tire rotations on Saturdays and I was told they do. operated poorly. The receptionist also proposed that they can leave my keys with the sales department so I could pick up the car on Sunday since the service center isn't open on Sundays. I requested to have a note included in my file for a Sunday pick up and the receptionist told me I can notify my service manager when I drop off the vehicle. When I dropped off the car, I was told they only do small jobs (such as oil changes) on weekends. I left my car with them regardless to address smaller repairs on my vehicle and reminded them to leave my keys with sales. When I spoke with my service advisor after the small repairs were addressed, I again asked him to leave my keys with the sales department. I did not receive a response from Samik. When I tried to pick up my car on Sunday, the sales department did not have my keys. The sales department nicely helped me locate the car but we're unable to access it because they did not have keys to the gate. Despite bringing my second set of keys I was unable to retrieve my vehicle. I do not live locally so I had to find accomodations and was forced to take the day off of work because this service center is unable to follow instructions. Other customers' keys were with the sales department that Sunday so it is clear the service center is capable of doing this for some customers. Not only were my repairs unaddressed but I was also left stranded in Boston without my vehicle and without accomodations due to this error. The sales department was incredibly apologetic and helpful throughout this process but it is unacceptable that they need to tend to the customers disgruntled by the service department. More
