Great car buying experience! I wanted to buy a new Mazda 3 Hatchback, but I wanted to buy an S-series car (2.5 liter engine) with the wheels and tire size that came on the I-serie I wanted to buy a new Mazda 3 Hatchback, but I wanted to buy an S-series car (2.5 liter engine) with the wheels and tire size that came on the I-series (2.0 liter engine) car. I live in Birmingham, AL and someone working at a local tire dealer gave me the name of Hennessy Mazda in Atlanta to check on the possibility of switching wheel and tire sizes on a new car. The folks I talked to on the phone were very nice, especially considering I was not even a customer or a potential customer at the time. I got to talk to David in Service about my interest in changing wheel sizes and he patiently took the time to explain why it was not safe to do what I wanted. So I resigned myself to buying the I-Series car. I used the USAA Car Buying Service to locate a "certified" dealer who would sell me a car for the USAA estimated price. After entering my information online, USAA told me I would be contacted by a Mazda dealer about 1 hour away from Birmingham. That dealer did not contact me and, after a day or two, I called them. They were not upfront with me about pricing and it took several days and multiple phone calls to finally realize they were not going to honor the USAA estimated price but wanted to sell me a car for about $3000 more. At that point I was beginning to see how the car buying service worked and I re-entered my request with an area code close to Hennessy Mazda in the Atlanta area. Mark Cooper sent me an email in less than 24 hours and, after talking to him on the phone, he sent a purchase "certificate" to me with a great price on the car I wanted. He was easy to work with on the phone and, since I would be driving 166 miles to pick up the car, he carefully made sure we had all the paperwork taken care of so there would not any glitches when I got there. My car was waiting for me, cleaned and with a full tank of gas, when I got there on Saturday morning. Mark was a pleasure to work with and if I come across anyone who wants to buy a new Mazda, I will send them to him. More

Damon approached me in a very warm and friendly manner with no pressure to buy. After looking around I asked to test drive the Mazda 3 Grand Touring; we took the car out for a spin and I was impressed the way Damon explained all the features, not once insisting that I purchase the vehicle. When we returned to the dealership, I met Ron, and again, no pressure to purchase. After running the numbers I had a decision to make: purchase or walk away, again no pressure. Needless to say I purchased the vehicle proudly. Damon and Ron were amazing, and JB in finance was awesome as well.
