I had researched a few vehicles prior to coming to this dealership and narrowed it down to two Toyota models. I went to another Toyota dealership, prior to coming to this one, to test drive the vehicle mo dealership and narrowed it down to two Toyota models. I went to another Toyota dealership, prior to coming to this one, to test drive the vehicle model that I was leaning towards. Unfortunately, they wanted to charge me an additional $1,500 to "Certify" the vehicle I was contemplating to purchase. After going online in their parking lot, I found the same model, year, price and mileage vehicle located at Toyota Scion North Charleston. Thank God for the internet and a mobile app - cars.com! I found an almost identical vehicle that was "Certified Pre-Owned" and was in much better shape I arrived at TSNC and was immediately greeted by Fonda, who listened to what I was looking for and promptly returned with keys to take test drive. Immediately following the test drive, Fonda asked if I was ready to talk numbers. Direct and to the point...worked for me. After brief negotiations, I had a koozie and two key-chains with keys to my new FJ Cruiser! From start to finish, the experience was much better than I expected and on-par with what I would expect at a Rick Hendrick dealership. More

On 15 March I called the Parts Department to enquire about a part for my 2002 4Runner. Parts told me it would be $187 and they could have it in the morning. I asked for the part# so I could confirm the a same part as my online price quote was MRSP $151.01 and actual cost would be 112.46 + $11 shipping. They said they do not give out part #s. I called the West Ashley dealer and he confirmed the $151.01 price, and confirmed my part #. Owning 3 Toyota's and spending over 90K in the last 9 years, plus buying all my oil filters and regular maintenance items, plus just spending a thousand dollars on a 90k service I thought that this dealership that I have been so loyal too, could at least try to match the online Toyota dealer price or come close. They would not even discuss it. I already ordered the part online plus two others due to their price and customer service. Over the last 9 years in dealing with Toyota (Gene Reed) the parts department was always very good about giving me the best service and pricing to meet my automotive needs. It's sad that such a good relationship can be tainted over a few dollars. More
