The sales department was outstanding; however, the service department was not. I was provided a comprehensive report indicating that a thorough inspection of the vehicle, to include its entire mechani service department was not. I was provided a comprehensive report indicating that a thorough inspection of the vehicle, to include its entire mechanical condition, had been conducted. No findings relevant to the vehicles exhaust system and/or its components were documented on the report. Due to personal experience and as a matter of habit, once I purchased a vehicle I decided to conduct my own visual inspection at home. Within seconds of inspecting the undercarriage of the vehicle, I immediately identified that one of the main hangers to the vehicles exhaust system was disconnected and not installed properly. This problem caused an abnormal vibration that I noticed while test driving the vehicle prior to purchase. Since the sales person sold me on the merits of their vehicle inspection, I decided to ignore this concern and follow through with purchasing the vehicle. I was able to repair the vehicle and install the exhaust system properly; however, I shouldn’t have had to have done this, particularly on Father’s Day, when I was informed that the vehicle was put on a lift and inspected by a certified mechanic. I traveled 10 hours round-trip to purchase this vehicle and wasn’t in a position to walk away from the purchase after making such a commitment otherwise I would’ve made more of an issue when I observed the problem during the test drive. This was a repair due to recall. I have no problem with the work but was annoyed to find the driver seat moved forward, the seat back reclined, and the steering wheel moved. Maybe you would need to move th the work but was annoyed to find the driver seat moved forward, the seat back reclined, and the steering wheel moved. Maybe you would need to move the seat forward or back but don't touch any other settings unless absolutely necessary. I felt like I was in a stranger's car and it's not easy to get it back exactly to way I want. More
