I took my 2015 Buick Encore to the Hendrick Chevrolet service department to address a leak that had developed in the AC system this last March. At the time, the service department stated we had leaks in service department to address a leak that had developed in the AC system this last March. At the time, the service department stated we had leaks in the AC compressor lines as well as a leak in the compressor (some investigation on my part determined the lines to be the discharge line). Though I thought that having two AC components develop leaks at the same time to be highly unlikely given the age and mileage of the car let alone failure of the compressor at this mileage, I authorized the work at a cost of $1,700. Outside of the very cryptic statements on the invoice on service needs, I was not provided the old parts or any kind of photographic evidence showing why the parts were considered defective and needing to be replaced. Once we reached May and started using the AC, the refrigerant was again depleted and we returned to the Hendrick Chevrolet service department to address this issue, assuming that they either miss diagnosed the leak with the original service or that there may have been a problem with the repairs. This time around, they stated that the condenser would also need to be replaced at a cost of $1,100 since it was leaking. It is extremely unlikely that three separate components of the AC system would each develop a leak all at the same time given the age of the car, the lower mileage of the car, and that the AC system was in good operating condition up to last winter. A hole in the condenser would be the likely culprit to begin with, given the vulnerability of the condenser to road debris. When confronted, the service department manager refused to stand by their original work nor offer to complete the new work at no cost. I would have expected that they would a) refund the original work and complete the new work at normal cost given that they likely misdiagnosed the leak or b) complete the new work at no cost. I removed my car from their shop and and made the hour trip to Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Topeka to first diagnose the leak and then complete the necessary work. Ed Bozarth Chevrolet has done a good deal of work on other cars for me in the past and I trust their service. The Ed Bozarth service department completed a system diagnosis and did confirm a slow leak in the condenser. I authorized them to install a new condenser and evacuate and recharge the AC system. The technician noted that the condenser had been leaking for quite some time, well into last winter if not earlier based on the extensive amount of refrigerant oil and road grime on the condenser. I also had an acquaintance that is a 45 year master technician at a Chrysler Jeep dealership in Topeka look at the photos and he agreed that the condenser was leaking for some time and that the leak was likely missed during the original diagnosis and service work. My acquaintance also made it clear that I made a real mistake by not requesting the old parts or other evidence confirming the need for the original work on the AC system. Interestingly, Ed Bozarth Chevrolet billed me close to $300 less for replacing the condenser than was quoted by Hendrick Chevrolet. We recently moved to Shawnee and had hoped to find a closer GM service provider. All that ended up happening is that I spent approximately $2,500 on a $700 repair. I did try to give Hendrick Chevrolet an opportunity to make things right but they refused to stand behind their work. They didn't even show any interest in having a look at the photographs of the condenser taken by the Ed Bozarth technician. Most experienced technicians would agree that the condenser leak was not recent. Honestly, I would give Hendrick Chevrolet negative Stars if the rating system allowed it. Think twice about having work done at Hendrick Chevrolet. BTW, always request your old parts or some type of hard evidence for needed service work. More

I agree with a couple of reviews here. I bought a Blazer towards the end of 2020 and verified my so's military discount through idme. The GM discount was between $2-$2,500 for Blazers at the time. They did towards the end of 2020 and verified my so's military discount through idme. The GM discount was between $2-$2,500 for Blazers at the time. They did not give me any military discount what so ever. They kept the rebate theirselves. Why did they demand to verify through idme if they didn't get any discount? Also tried mark up my interest rate until I said forget the whole thing then magically was called back and it went down 2.5%. Will not return to purchase anything there. More
