Kevin Pleus has been my service advisor for the four years since I have lived in Charlotte. I have a 2011 BMW 335 xdrive which I love and has been meticulously cared for by Kevin and your wonderful team years since I have lived in Charlotte. I have purchased from Hendrick Certified Pre-Owned in the past and was very pleased. I travel from a neighboring state because of their selection and can trust their service department. Recently, I was looki past and was very pleased. I travel from a neighboring state because of their selection and can trust their service department. Recently, I was looking at trading my vehicle for another certified BMW. I received some numbers locally through dealers and the value was in the range on the online valuation sites and very acceptable. Issue was there were no great choices for vehicles I was really interested in. Then, I made the mistake of going to the "Max" because of a vehicle they had. The "Max" low bid my car and even knew it. I showed the offers I received from local dealers and was informed they cannot change an offer locally so I spoke to a manager. She said because my vehicle is a higher end brand, especially my model, they do not sell as quickly to the typical "Max" shopper and so, is not desirable. OK, I get that. Fast forward 2 weeks and I see the exact model I am interested in at Hendricks BMW. I do an online offer, which includes a trade-in valuation. The valuation comes in very close to prior and submit my deal. I call and speak to a salesperson who was very professional, although new and a little pushy, but he was doing his job and I was fine with that. I let him know I submitted a deal online and based my trade-in value off 3 local offers I have in writing. I did lowball the cost of their vehicle, in which I expected some negotiations. Later that day, I received an email from the salesperson with a counteroffer that has the "Max" (and a copy) offer attached. No negotiation, no counter-offer, does not want to see my car or the other local offers from REAL dealerships, just the "Max" offer. Take it or leave it. I have owned 14 BMW's, numerous other cars and in the market to also buy my wife a new car because her Land Rover Discovery is too small (she gets new, I get used) and loves the new X7. I have never been so offended and treated like a non-customer in all my years of purchasing and trading cars in my life. If this is how Hendrick BMW has become, they already lost my business, and I will make it a point to tell my story (long time member of BMWCCA) at ALL events and club meetings. I will make sure people think twice before giving the dealership business. More
