Frank - Unfortunately, at time of delivery, we noticed coolant leaking from your vehicle while our salesperson was together with you demonstrating the equipment in your new Explorer. We immediately informed all parties of the issue, and escorted you and your family into our service waiting area so we can diagnose the problem. It was found that a radiator hose had worked its way off and caused the coolant leak. Both Sales and Service Managers sat down with you to apologize, explain what we found (a clips mechanical failure) and explained how we will resolve the problem. The repair was performed and vehicle re-cleaned within 20 minutes of occurrence. In good faith, we also offered a contract to cover your maintenance for the 3 year term of your lease - which was accepted. What sometimes goes unsaid is everything that went right - we completed most of your deal via email and phone (given that you are coming from a distance), we had the needed equipment you purchased for your Explorer installed overnight and the vehicle was ready for your scheduled delivery. Our sales person even came in on his day off to make your delivery and ensure all went well. We expected a perfect delivery and to make sure all your expectations are met. But sometimes problems occur, things break - what is important is that we took care of the problem, offered alternatives and compensation, and we stand behind the Ford and Lincoln products we sell.
