I have brought my car, a convertible, for service, to the dealership. The poor service record began when the car was new and the car was drafty from the convertible top. They said this was normal ( bu the dealership. The poor service record began when the car was new and the car was drafty from the convertible top. They said this was normal ( but the problem went away when the roof was replaced for another reason) Now I 'll jump ahead. The car has a poor ride. I attributed this to shimmying, tires, wheels, shocks or suspension, but what do I know. Each service visit I ask that this be repaired. It has gotten so bad that my wife will not ride in the car. It is uncomfortable and a minor pothole is jarring. Note that I am not faulting Mercedes or the dealership for the problem, only for the continued failure to diagnose and repair. We now use my wife's car primarily even on convertible days. I also brought the car in because the seat belt did not retract. Car was returned but not repaired This began before the seat belt recall, which they did not do because, I was told, the part was not in. The State inspection was overdue and not done. I really wanted out of the lease because I was not enjoying the car at all. I realize this was not realistic. I finally took my car to Rallye Motors. In one day they diagnosed the problem by test driving and putting the car on a lift. Despite the fact that my record falsely shows the seat belt repair by Helms, they fixed the seat belt. I have stayed with Helms out of loyalty to the salesperson, Andrea Kass, who has been a pleasure to work with. We have leased multiple cars from her and feel bad she will no longer get our business. I reached out to Susan, the GM at Helms, to discuss my concerns. She was aware of my dissatisfaction with the car but she was rude and did not seem to care. I asked her to set up a call with corporate but she refused and continued with an attitude. I asked her to set up a call with store ownership and she said that "you don't want to speak to him and he is not available". Susan was unsympathetic to a dissatisfied customer and made the situation worse She blamed me for the inability to diagnose the problem because I wouldn't ride in the car with them. I told her I am not riding in the car with anyone due to Covid. Instead of recognizing the years long poor service works, she disconnected the call. I called Andrea and thanked her for her work with me but I refuse to deal with a dealership or company that disrespects me and my concerns. More
