I scheduled this appointment regarding the tire and wheel protection package that I had purchased with my new GR Corolla in December. About a week ago, I hit a pothole/construction debris while driv wheel protection package that I had purchased with my new GR Corolla in December. About a week ago, I hit a pothole/construction debris while driving at night, and one of my wheels was scratched up and damaged. I brought my car into get the wheel evaluated and a repair order approved under the wheel coverage. At the time I brought the car in, I spoke with Chris Dixon, who went on to document the damage and submit the claim. The claim came back as denied, apparently due to the fact that the damage was considered "cosmetic only". He suggested I double-check with the finance person who had sold me the warranty, as typically these packages cover cosmetic/all damage. Given the cost of the protection package, I was hoping and expected this damage to be covered, even if it was a wheel repair as opposed to a full replacement. A large part of the reason I bought the protection package was due to driving around Milwaukee daily for work in addition to the low-profile tires on the GR, as I thought it would be good insurance and cover cases like this. I remember discussing the possibility of hitting a pothole being a reason for the coverage at the time I purchased it, and I wasn't aware that the coverage had any provisions for "cosmetic only" damage. In fact, I did see in the paperwork a mention of up to six repairs due to cosmetic damage being covered. I have sent several emails asking for clarification/confirmation of the coverage of the wheel and tire warranty, and I have not heard anything back. I would appreciate a response to my inquiries, and ideally, wheel repair/replacement to be covered if possible. More
