I brought my car in 2-20-23 to purchase a key and get it programmed to my 2014 Dodge Challenger. Once I purchased they key, the service tech took my car to the back for programming, about 30 mins later he brought it back and said he couldn’t program it. When Roy asked him why, he shrugged his shoulders, handed him the key and walked off. Roy explained to me that, he would have to get a new key ordered from mopar. Roy spoke to the part sales rep and then said he would try a new battery, after putting in the new battery he unlocked my car with the remote and told me the key was good to go. Once I got to my car, I noticed my keyless entry wasn’t working and neither was my push to start button. I explained this to Roy and asked him to go get the service tech because the key was not programmed property. He told me he would but he needed me to understand my push to start wasn’t working when I got there, but the key works so it’s probably a module broken behind my dashboard. I explained to him this wasn’t the case, I damaged my old key so I had to remove the button and use the key to turn the ignition, that’s the only way I was able to drive the car. He told me I didn’t understand what I was talking about and that I needed to just listen to him so he can help me. This infuriated me because he refused to go get the service tech. I then asked to speak to management, he took me to speak with his service manager. I was expecting a resolution, but the service manger was basically saying the same thing. It’s probably a bad module behind the dash. I explained the same story to him and he seemed to get irritated and said, “ I can order you another key, I don’t care, but it probably won’t give you the results you are looking for. Once we go to order another key, Roy still insisted that I should listen to him, he’s only trying to help. I told him to order my key and I asked him how is the key programmed when the battery was dead. If he would get a service tech to program the key with the good battery, the issue would be resolved. He then told me, “ you don’t run me, I know my job, I’m just trying help you sir.” After about 5 more mins he goes to order the key and realized the parts salesman tried to charge me for a new battery, knowing the one he sold me was bad. The next day Roy called me and said he wanted to apologize, I was probably right and tried to blame the tech and he told me he’d let me know when the key came in. He then called me 2-28-23 and told me my key arrived. I went to pick up the new key 3-1-23. I left my car to have it programmed. Roy called me about 1 hr 1/2 later and told me he spoke to another service tech who confirmed I was right and I didn’t need a new key, the one they sold me wasn’t programmed correctly, so they programmed the original key they sold me. I waited 8 days for something that could have been done they day I bought the key. I would not recommend anyone do business with this particular service department. This was my worst experience I’ve had at a dealership. The tech, the service advisor and service manager are horrible. No apologies from the service manager. Roy just gave me my key and said, “ you are parked out front sir, thanks”. 0 stars if I could. My car currently has recalls, but I definitely would not let them service it again. More
