They wanted to charge me 4-5% more interest rate than what the bank approved me for. This is known as" reserve " So what happens is that there's a marketplace of lenders offering loans at a buy rate ,th what the bank approved me for. This is known as" reserve " So what happens is that there's a marketplace of lenders offering loans at a buy rate ,the dealership ( in this case the finance manager) re sells the loan at a sell rate( increasing the percentage) When this fails or the customer is informed then they demand a higher downpayment so they still make what they couldn't make in finance by manipulating interest rates. This is just one way of making extra profit ,not to mention the direct profit they make by buying low( low balling trade ins) I decided to go straight to my bank and finance with them at a lower rate.I bought from an individual avoiding the scams and fees they charge you. Saved thousands! More
