Unethical Customer Service! I have an older Nissan Maxima(2000). I was soon to upgrade to the 2015 Nissan Maxima which I was super excited about. But, recently my baby(2000) beca I have an older Nissan Maxima(2000). I was soon to upgrade to the 2015 Nissan Maxima which I was super excited about. But, recently my baby(2000) became dormant and would not start. I Had my car towed to A mechanic shop and they told me it had to do with my security system, and that only Nissan had the tools to fix it. Makes sense. So I gladly had my car towed to Nissan. This happens Wednesday on 08/12/2015. I was nervous because I had to work Friday, and they were saying that they probably weren't going to get to it until then. But that was fine it's NISSAN. Well, thank the Lord I was called the next day, Thursday and told that my issue was fixed and They programmed my key to allow me to drive, and that I could come by and get my car! Got my car, drove home Happy camper. Next day, tried to start up car car wouldn't start. I looked at my key and I realized the chip that was to be programmed was not present. Looked outside my car door. There it was! It fell out! Called Nissan they told me I had to get my key reprogrammed and that I would have to pay. Pay!? But it hasn't even been 24 hours, and this shows that the programming wasn't told properly. The front desk customer service rep puts me on the phone with the mechanic (Brittany Sides) who supposedly resolved my issue, and she tells me that my key was old and that I should of gotten a new one because that's what everyone does. My key is old? That's what everyone does? Why wasn't that recommended to me before I happily left the dealer? Why wasn't I told my key was so old before they programmed it so that I could request for s new key to be made? And why would you reprogram a key that is defective and 'old' if that's the case? She concludes to tell me that I am going to have to pay and that it cost money to reprogram even if I have the chip that fell out. This was a faulty job. Nissan did not take care of me properly and no one has money to dish out for a job done incorrectly. Nissan on Whittlesey Boulevard in Columbus, Ga did a poor job and is trying to con people out of their money. That is terrible! I am so upset that I am seriously considering switching dealers. This was my first car purchase and it could not have gone smoother given the circumstances. After seeing the car I had been searching for at a great price I called the dealership first thing in the morning. Brian sent pictures and all the necessary details on the car; we negotiated the price, and financing over the phone (I work and live in Atlanta); and Brian and others waited for me till well after closing to drive down from Atlanta to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. BOLD FACE LIAR THIS IS THE WORST DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I TALKED TO JOEL AND AGREED TO COME TO COLUMBUS CONCERNING A 2013 ALTIMA Stock #: N718715A. JOEL THIS IS THE WORST DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I TALKED TO JOEL AND AGREED TO COME TO COLUMBUS CONCERNING A 2013 ALTIMA Stock #: N718715A. JOEL AGREED THAT MY OFFER OF $17000 WOULD BE ACCEPTED FOR THE VEHICLE. I CALLED JOEL ON FRIDAY AND HE DID NOT ANSWER HIS PHONE. JOEL WAS ADVISED THAT I WOULD NOT NEED ANY FINANCING FROM HEADQUARTERS NISSAN BECAUSE MY FINANCING WAS ALREADY SECURED FROM A LOCAL BANK. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ANOTHER SALESMAN BY THE NAME OF DEVON, WHO MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CONVINCE ME TO USE THEIR FINANCING WHICH I REPEATEDLY REFUSED EVEN THOUGH HE KEPT INSISTING. I HAVE A PREVIOUS WORK HISTORY WITH BANKS. I KNOW HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS. DEVON WANTED ME TO USE THEIR FINANCING SIMPLY BECAUSE THIS WOULD ALLOW HEADQUARTERS NISSAN TO MANIPULATE THE PROCESS TO THEIR ADVANTAGE. PERHAPS THE INTENT WAS TO PLAY WITH THE NUMBERS SO THAT HEADQUARTERS COULD INCREASE THEIR PROFITABILITY. I HAD DONE MY RESEARCH AND I WAS WELL PREPARED FOR WHAT I WANTED AND WHAT I COULD AFFORD. APPARENTLY, DEVON WAS EXPECTING ME TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR PLAN, AS MOST OBVIOUSLY DO! WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP, JOEL WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. MY PAPER WORK HAD BEEN HANDED OFF TO DEVON HENRY WHO WAS THE SALESMAN THAT HAD CALLED ME EARLIER AND HAD MADE AN ATTEMPT TO TRY TO PERSUADE ME TO USE THE FINANCING THAT HEADQUARTER NISSAN OFFERED. DEVON ADVISED ME THAT JOEL WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO COMPLY WITH THE PREVIOUS AGREEMENT THAT JOEL AND MYSELF HAD SPOKEN OF EARLIER. DEVON AGAIN ATTEMPTED TO GET ME TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR FINANCING. I REFUSED! I REMINDED DEVON OF WHAT MYSELF AND JOEL HAD TALKED ABOUT. DEVON THEN TRIED TO GET ME TO PICK OUT A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. I STATED THAT IF THE OFFER THAT JOEL AND I HAD AGREED TO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, I AM GOING TO LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT MAKING ANY FURTHER PLANS TO PURCHASE ANY OTHER VEHICLE. I WAS REMINDED AGAIN THAT HEADQUARTERS WAS NOT ABLE TO DO AS WE HAD PREVIOUSLY AGREED. THIS WAS A LOW DOWN SALES TACTIC THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET NOR LET GO! I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER BEING LIED TO AND DISRESPECTED. I HAD MADE THE HALF HOUR DRIVE IN VAIN BASED ON A LIE BY JOEL. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. HEADQUARTERS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS AND ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN THE BOTTOM LINE, "MONEY"! THIS DEALERSHIP IS NOTHING BUT A FACADE WHOSE ONLY INTEREST IS TO SQUEEZE AS MUCH MONEY OUT OF THE CUSTOMER AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. DEALING WITH HEADQUARTER NISSAN IS LIKE DEALING WITH THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. THEIR PROMISES ARE EMPTY AND THEIR ATTEMPTS TO SMOOTH OVER THEIR INDISCRETIONS ARE PLENTIFUL! ANY CONTACT WITH A CUSTOMER AFTER A COMPLAINT IS ONLY TO MINIMIZE THE ISSUE AND SAVE FACE WITH ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AND THE PUBLIC AT HAND! THIS DEALERSHIP IS FULL OF DISHONESTY AND TOTALLY LACKS ANY INTEGRITY! THIS DEALERSHIP IS NOT EVEN CONCERNED THAT THEIR SALES REPRESENTATIVE HAS LIED! Its never any pressure with him, he gives great advice, he goes above and beyond, and he also puts your shopping experience at ease.
