This was the first time in my life (I am 56, recently widowed) to buy a new car and make such a decision by myself. I feel very comfortable with my purchase of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The warranty, etc. is fabulous, and I LOVE MY NEW CAR!!! More
Debbie Achey had excellent product knowledge and was quite helpful in answering my many questions, promptly finding the answer for those she didn't know. She fully described the Elantra's systems and controls and made sure I understood their workings. Buying a car from her and Scholfield Hyundai was a pleasant and rewarding experience. I would do it again. I recently completed a 3,000 mile trip to 6 western states and had no difficulties with my Elantra exceeding 40 MPG for the trip. Their service department is as competent and friendly as the sales department. My ratings were based on my personal experience with this dealer. I am not an easy grader. I felt comfortable and valued throughout the entire sales process. More
Steve made car buying a truly great experience. He's attentive & knowledgeable; but most importantly he's patient. It took me a long time to decide on the right car, and I changed my mind many times be attentive & knowledgeable; but most importantly he's patient. It took me a long time to decide on the right car, and I changed my mind many times before finally buying a new Sonata SE (which is a fantastic car btw). I know that my indecision must have been frustrating, but he never showed anything but the utmost courtesy & respect. I'll be talking to Steve again the next time I need a car. I had not purchased a vehicle for almost ten years and was not looking forward to the experience at all!!! After quite a bit of research online to narrow down the vehicles I would consider purchasing, th was not looking forward to the experience at all!!! After quite a bit of research online to narrow down the vehicles I would consider purchasing, the Hyundai Santa Fe was one of four I knew I wanted to test drive. Every consumer and trade review I read of the Santa Fe was positive; and the pricing was competitive. Scholfield Hyundai East was the third dealership I visited. In a word: FANTASTIC !!!! First of all, to be quite honest, I was impressed with the lot and its overall appearance. Not a bunch of "gimmick" signs and flags, etc.; and not two or three sales people hovering outside the door waiting to "pounce on me" as soon as I exited my vehicle. (I'm just being honest here.) When Ty approached me, I was immediately impressed with his smile and his calm, friendly and courteous demeanor. He listened intently to me; answered all of my questions fully and directly; asked appropriate questions to help me articulate what I was interested in and what features were important to me or not; as well as offering what I felt were honest opinions about features I asked about on not only other models on the lot, but other makes of vehicles I had looked at and compared the Santa Fe to. After a test drive of the Santa Fe, I told Ty I really liked it, but still wanted to look at one or two other vehicles at another dealership before I made up my mind. To my surprise and relief, he didn't launch off into a fast-paced, high-pressure explanation of why I should just purchase the Santa Fe right now; but kindly and professionally accepted my statement. Thank you, Ty. I truly appreciated your respectful response in that regard. When I returned the next day and entered the showroom, I was once again impressed with what I saw. The showroom was well laid out, clean and organized. The staff all appeared to be busy and not just milling around; but not too busy to politely greet me immediately. The waiting area was comfortable and impressive as well. For what it's worth, I was also impressed with the individual offices out front as opposed to a "counter", which offers no privacy, or a table and chairs in a row of cubicles, which feels very impersonal to me. Once again, Ty greeted me with a smile and a sincere and friendly attitude. He was well-informed as to what was immediately available to test drive, as well as other options that may be available to find the Santa Fe that was "just right" for me. He even offered to pick up a vehicle from the west dealership and deliver it to my home so I could test drive it. Talk about customer service!!! As we went on one more test drive, Ty patiently answered all of my questions once again; and offered complete and concise explanations of all the features of the Santa Fe and the package options available. He even went over pricing and procedure with me about features I may want to add in the future, like remote start, tow hitch, tinted windows, etc. All the while juggling what I perceived to be a very busy and hectic schedule without once revealing any sign of impatience. As we discussed price, Ty was direct, informative, open and honest. No dreaded "negotiation dance". I was offered every discount/rebate available; as well as what I considered a fair trade-in value on my vehicle (at least according to the research I had done and the previous offers I'd had). I was then introduced to Chad Pipkin to handle the financing. I also found Chad to be very professional, courteous, personable, attentive, informative and helpful. He fully explained all financing options available and the terms of each, patiently answered all of my questions and accepted all of my decisions regarding finance options without trying to pressure me into purchasing an option I didn't need or want. Thank you, Chad, for making me feel at ease. When I returned to pick up my new Santa Fe, Ty took the time to explain how everything worked and even helped me sync my iPhone to the navigation system. He went over the maintenance procedures in great detail as well. He truly seemed almost as excited for me as I was about the purchase of my new vehicle !!!!! Unfortunately, when I inspected the Santa Fe, I found a spot of discoloration on the interior ceiling and a couple very small chips in the paint on the tailgate door. When I told Ty about it, he was very apologetic, which I appreciated, even though I wasn't particularly upset over it because "stuff" happens; and very promptly got both blemishes fixed to my complete satisfaction. He even filled my tank with gas, again !!!! Based on my experience with Scholfield Hyundai East thus far, I fully expect my future interaction and experience during routine maintenance visits and any other needs that may arise with my Santa Fe will be met with the same courtesy, prompt attention and friendly professionalism as I have experienced with my initial purchase. Thank you to Ty, Chad and all involved for turning my "dreaded" new-car-buying-experience into a pleasant and exciting event!! I greatly appreciate your professional and friendly attitude, as well as your genuine and honest best efforts on my behalf. I feel like, along with the blessing of owning a new vehicle, I've also received the blessing of making new friends. Recently, I went with my oldest son to look for a new car, he and I visited almost every dealership in Wichita. On the whole, Schofield Hyundai East was the most informative and enjoyable. Ty Vanhoosen w car, he and I visited almost every dealership in Wichita. On the whole, Schofield Hyundai East was the most informative and enjoyable. Ty Vanhoosen was aware that we were not looking to purchase that day or in the near future, but he still spent the time to show us both used and new vehicles; that was how undecided we were. After several weeks of looking at vehicles, my son decided on the Hyundai Veloster, so we went back and spoke with Ty and advised him what we were looking for, but not until the end of summer. About a week later I got a call from Ty advising that they had just traded for the vehicle we were looking for (2012 Veloster), but fully loaded with only a few thousand miles. I was able to get exactly what my son wanted and more (all the cool gadgets) for less than the base model we had been looking at (complete with all the warranties). Needless to say we were very pleased, so pleased we asked Ty to keep his eye open for other good deals, since my youngest son was also going to need a new vehicle before he went away to school in Canada (due to extreme weather conditions). Again Ty called with more vehicle than we were looking for, but below the cost we had discussed. This time it was a (fully loaded) 2011 Santa Fe. consequently, we have purchased two vehicles in the last couple of months, when we were only planning to purchase one and not until the end of summer. I have always dreaded purchasing vehicles, due to the sales games, but Ty and Schofield Hyundai made it both easy and enjoyable, so much so I have him looking for my wifes next vehicle, lucky for me it will not be available until next year. I am optimistic, due to discussions I had with other customers that our future service experiences will be equally professional and enjoyable. More
