Work commitments prohibited me from visiting the dealer with her. To summarize, I was communicating with my wife and Gaetano via phone. As we got to the "signing" stage, my wife and I both made it clear we DID NOT WANT an extended service contract for our leased vehicle. During the contract signing process, my wife, after declining again, was told they would throw it in at no cost, and I quote, "Just bring me in a vanilla chai (she was drinking one that day). True story. We made it clear we did not want to buy this contract. They understood. It honestly slipped my mind and I didn't review the paperwork until I received a letter and pamphlet from Toyota congratulating me on the warranty. I was surprised. I looked on the paperwork and there it is. A $355 charge. I called the dealership and spoke with Gaetano and Marc, the finance manager, to voice my displeasure. They tried to give me a load of you know what to justify it being on the contract. I was assured we'd receive a credit from Toyota on our statement and a confirmation from the dealership that they took care of this. Two statements later, nothing. Today I'm calling Toyota. This is a blatant attempt to squeeze money out of a customer who stated in no uncertain terms they didn't want a product and were charged for it anyway. I cannot do business with a dealership like this that cannot be trusted and I would not recommend them to anyone. My experience in leasing the Highlander was as noted below. But after bringing more business their way in the matter of a few months, I was rewarded by salespeople attempting to gouge a woman who frankly was not very experienced in the game. Shame on me for trusting Hartford Toyota and attempting to do this remotely. Lesson learned. They have proven to be untrustworthy and I would not do business with them again. Car buying is difficult enough to not have to deal with unscrupulous business practices. I had been looking to lease a 2016 Highlander for several days and requested information online from three different dealerships, one of which was actually a partner of Edmunds.com. I basically submitted the same questions and leasing intentions to all three. Jill was by far, the most responsive, straightforward, and patient contact at any of the three dealers. In her communications she said she wanted to earn my business and boy did she. No pressure, no salesy stuff - just straightforward conversations and answers to my questions. I made an appointment and upon walking in, Jill introduced me to Guy, who handled my request. Guy was extremely helpful, also very straightforward, and actually guided me towards the black interior color that I not only selected, but am very happy with. I actually went to the dealer looking for Ash, but Guy provided some reasons (with a little help from my wife) why I should also consider black. At the end of the day, he was right on. I've bought and leased many vehicles over the years and I have to say this experience was without question, the best I've ever had. I'd recommend Hartford Toyota, Jill, and Guy without hesitation. More

She was very personable, helpful, called me several more times,and sent information by e-mail. We live a distance from Hartford, and ultimately decided to purchase a car from a different dealership because of the distance. But if Tina had been at a closer dealership, we would have definitely been very happy to work with her. More
Misled and lied to I went in to co sign for my son. While signing paperwork I noticed my name was first. I pointed out to financial person and said my son is buying the I went in to co sign for my son. While signing paperwork I noticed my name was first. I pointed out to financial person and said my son is buying the car and I am only cosigning. He said yes it was going in my sons name. Come to find out that I bought car, I get all billing. When I called and questioned they said they put in my name because my son could get lower interest rate. The financial person totally misled me and lied to my face regarding the sale. I tried calling after 1 st statement and no one answered phone at dealership after 4 calls. When I did get through the supervising manager that day avoided my call and they picked up phone and kept putting me into an Internet salespersons voice mail. I am disgusted over the situation and will be filing complaint. More
