Windshield was cracked and we were required to pay $550 (invoice was $610). Used car manager said was visible in online photos and had discounted advertised price because of it. I checked. Typical dealership Harbin is a typical dealership. Sell for as high as they can to make as much profit as they can. That’s the game. I did business with them because the Harbin is a typical dealership. Sell for as high as they can to make as much profit as they can. That’s the game. I did business with them because they had what I wanted. Otherwise, I would have moved on. It would be nice to have a dealership that one could build a “business relationship” with, like a banker or doctor or favorite supermarket, etc. (those days are gone, i.e. 1950’s) They did yield somewhat in the “negotiation.” They were going to finance for me and tried to give me a 9.99% rate. When I called back and complained they came back with 4.5% which was almost insulting. They have a $848 doc or prep fee which they alleviated somewhat on the sticker price. Their prep fee is one of the highest around which they said they make up for by having the lowest sticker prices...yeah! Again, the game. They are good at “the game” because they are there always playing the game. Just remember car dealerships or typically the sales staff are not your friend or buddy they are there to make money and only can at “your expense.” More
