At this point, they had suggested that I do a coolant flush, but I declined. The problem starts about a week later. Understand that I don't drive the truck much so the problem wasn't noticed until I had to drive to Decatur to take care of some business. I never had any problems that day. The problem comes in the next day when I go out and notice a puddle under my truck. Upon checking to see where the liquid was coming from I found that I was missing the coolant reservoir lid. I tried to call Harbin to inform them, but I wasn't able to get in touch with anybody. I received a call from Mr. Bordner. I proceeded to tell him the problem and he said that he was of the day that I had the service, but when he came in the next day and did a walk through the shop, he had found the cap. He came the next day and took my truck back to the dealership and did a flush and fill on the radiator at no charge due to the fact that the technician had left the cap off. This wasn't the end of the problem. A day or two later, I noticed that the coolant reservoir was empty again so I proceeded to contact Mr. Bordner again to inform him of the problem. He told me that the system had probably "burped" and took the antifreeze into the system. He came again and took my truck back to the dealership to check and fill the reservoir again. He brought the truck back and dropped it off. I thought at this point everything was taken care of. Needless to say, I kept smelling burning antifreeze, but I just thought it was where it had blown out. Again, I don't drive the truck that much, so a couple of weeks later after I did drive the truck, the next day there was another puddle of antifreeze in the driveway under it. I looked to see where it was coming from, I noticed it dripping down the back of the motor onto the exhaust. I took picture and sent them to Mr. Bordner and informed him of the problem. He contacted me back and we made arrangements for him to come and pick the truck up again. When he arrived to pick it up, he started telling me that he went back and looked at the original service order and said that the technician had said that there might have been a leak then. There is no record of this on my original service order and no signs of any problem previously. The only thing that was in there was a recommendation for a coolant flush due to the miles and recommended service times from Ford. After taking my truck back to the dealership again, he called me the next day stating that they had found that the thermostat housing was cracked and that's where the leak was. He then proceeded to tell me pricing and that they would have to order the parts. I them asked him where the thermostat and housing were and he told me on the back of the motor and quoted me a price of approximately $320. I had asked him where it was located knowing that it was located on the top radiator hose going into the motor. It is something that I could have done myself for less than $100. When they had the repair done, Regina had called and asked me how I wanted to pay so they could bring the vehicle back. I was actually surprised that I wag being charged since the problem started when the original technician left the cap off the reservoir. I paid for the servicee and at some point they had brought the truck back and parked it in my driveway with the keys inside. At this point, I proceeded to message Mr. Bordner and tell him that I was very dissatisfied about the whole situation. I had told him that there sad no problem with the truck prior to the day that I brought it in for an oil change. Unfortunately, I had missed his return call. I sent him a message, but I never heard back from him. This has probably cost Harbin a customer, but I don't think it matters to them. One unsatisfied customer isn't any concern to them. More
