They are unprofessional and deceptive in the buying process, but the biggest issues arise once you've left the parking lot. Customer service doesn't exist and that's a real problem because they leave you with a bunch of issues which you then have to deal with without their assistance. More

Most Traumatic Car Dealership Experience Ever I am a first time buyer. I went into this car dealership on a Saturday, after seeing great advertisements online to purchase a 2018 Hyundai Accent. Iv I am a first time buyer. I went into this car dealership on a Saturday, after seeing great advertisements online to purchase a 2018 Hyundai Accent. Ivan and D assured me that the car was the exact same price as listed. I explained the price I wanted to pay monthly and that I was not making a down payment. They ran my credit, "got me approved", placed the plates and sticker on the car, and had me sign a lot of paperwork. I paid $375 for insurance plus another $100 to leave lot with the car. Ivan (my sales person) just asked me to bring my proof of income on Monday. When I arrived on Monday, I waited 30 minutes before finance could "grab my paperwork". After taking my paperwork the man in finance said "Everything looks great. You are all set... now all I need is $400 more dollars." The car note went up, as well as the price of the car by 2,500... None of this was said on Saturday. They were completely dishonest about pricing and what the bank actually wanted. I was blindsided and they did nothing to rectify their dishonesty or explain why they lied about pricing. So, I gave the car back immediately. A few days later I purchased my first car from Family Hyundai (wonderful place.) I would not recommend Happy Hyundai, because they are very dishonest and the lack care. They are the stereotypical car dealership. Please do not go there! More

unHappy Hyundai I responded to an advertisement on Cars.com for a low-mile 2017 Hyundai Elantra which was supposedly available for $12,778. I called Happy Hyunda I responded to an advertisement on Cars.com for a low-mile 2017 Hyundai Elantra which was supposedly available for $12,778. I called Happy Hyundai to ask if they attach anything else to that price i.e. certification, dealership packages, etc. The woman on the phone said that the price on their website was the price at which they were willing to sell the vehicle, plus the cost of tax and title, of course. So I took the drive from Northwest Indiana. When I met the salesperson, I explained what kind of a car I was looking for. I said that I noticed that they had a large inventory of cars that fit my criteria. He grabbed a tablet and began looking up the cars. He scrolled through the inventory, really not offering any suggestions, so I pointed to the car that first drew me to their dealership. He said that the car was certified. I asked if the price included the cost of the certification. He said "no". I asked what the cost of the certification was. He said it was between $1500-$3000. STRIKE 1, DECEIVED - Attaching more costs to the advertised price directly conflicted with the information the woman on the telephone indicated earlier Now feeling like I'd been deceived, I said that before we look at the car, I wanted to see the numbers. The advertisement on Cars.com also mentioned special financing. He said that was only for NEW cars. STRIKE 2, DECEIVED - Incorrect information about financing in advertisement When the salesperson brought out the numbers, the total was over $16,000. They had a "Happy" dealership package and certification attached to the price of the car, which conflicted with the information I called and asked about earlier before I took the drive. I said that it was too much and we negotiated for a bit. We got the price down to $14,000 OUT THE DOOR, which included tax and title; no certification; no BS package; and they were suppose to match the financing that I pre-arranged with my credit union. I was VERY HAPPY with that, so we test-drove the car. When we returned to the dealership, I suggested that maybe we could look at a couple of other cars. The salesperson was totally disinterested and said that this car was his best (yeah right). So, we came back in and I said "Let's do it. Let's go to financing." I signed the page with our handwritten agreement on it and he took it to the back room. He came back with a printout which had a total of over $15,000 on it. STRIKE 3, DECEIVED - What happened to our agreement??? He said that what I signed earlier was just an offer, not an agreement. I got up to leave. He asked me to write down another offer and sign it. I re-wrote the original offer and he took it to the back. We ended up going with the offer. I was ready to proceed. The salesperson recorded my financial information and then I waited... and waited... and waited. The salesperson finally come back with a page for me to sign. The interest rate on the financing was slightly higher than my credit union, but I agreed. The paper also included Illinois tax/title costs. I told him that I lived in Indiana and that my taxes would be higher. They told me that they could not access that information until we got to the financing department and were totally unwilling to give me any information regarding Indiana tax/title costs. So I signed the page; after all – our agreement was $14,000 OUT THE DOOR. When we finally got to the financing department, the finance manager said that my monthly payments would be higher because Indiana tax is higher than Illinois tax and it would add $400 to my total price. By that time, I was tired. They would not honor the original agreement, so I left. STRIKE 4, DECEIVED – They would not honor the agreement. Later, I received a call from their Internet Sales Dept. He said he’d check to see what he could do to help the deal go through and that he would call me back the following Monday. I never received a call. They had a serious buyer with perfect credit who was ready to make a purchase and they let her go. What a terrible experience. More
