There was no miscommunication on my end. I clearly asked to have the transmission fluid and filter changed on my vehicle and at first was told there was no filter. I guess no one takes responsibility for their incompetence and mistakes. Bottom line, Hampton Toyota screwed up all the way around.

For future reference, we recommend following Toyota's nomenclature where they refer to the screen inside the transmission as a "strainer screen", and not a filter, since a filter according to Toyota specs implies a micron composite material.

Well I'll be damned. It is listed on Toyota's website as a filter. I copied from the website and pasted it below my comments. In tech terms it may be called a strainer screen (which filters contaminants from the oil) but in layman's terms it is a FILTER! As to my earlier comment, Hampton Toyota will not accept responsibility for the fact that I was told it had no filter (strainer screen) by the service dept. and then told they do not replace the filter & gasket. So when a customer asks for parts to be replaced while servicing their vehicle, Hampton will not do the work asked of them. We can argue about this all day. Bottom line, Hampton Toyota's Service Dept. is the worst. I had my truck serviced by someone else and it was done correctly and the FILTER & pan gasket replaced as requested. From Toyota.com. We would like to offer this to you: if you could drop off your vehicle so we can remove the sap and reapply the Auto Butler at no charge we will provide you with a rental vehicle at no charge for the same day to allow us the additional time required to remove the sap and reapply the Auto Butler.
