Avoid this place like the plague. This is literally the worst place I've ever gone to get work done. I was in an accident in a 2 week old car. I was told to get my estimate done there, and the insurance person told me it was unsafe to keep driving it. So they made all of the repairs at the Hampton Chevrolet. The paint started peeling on my car with BRAND NEW PARTS a few months later. I also noticed that my bumper was never correctly realigned when placed on my car. I later came to find out that they aren't a Nationwide insured shop, and NOBODY told me, so my insurance agent couldn't make them fix it. He was wonderful though and fought for me. Hampton Chevy on the other hand has literally been dragging their feet for 5 months about getting my car fixed. They don't respond to calls, they won't email you back. I have done literally everything that they have asked of me and yet I get no good service there. It wasn't until I went over the person's head and had another shop look at my car and verify it was their incorrectly done work that they said they would fix it. I will never work with this shop again and I hope that you don 't either so you don't have to go through the same mess as I have. More
My husband and I were in the market for a used vehicle, we live in Richmond, VA and there were no dealerships who had the vehicle in stock. We did locate it online and Hampton Chevrolet. We called and spoke to a friendly gentleman by the name of Lou who encouraged us to make the trip down. Aware we were coming from Richmond, he stated he would call us mid trip to inform us if anything changed with the car's availability. About an hour later Lou did call to inform us the car was still available. I was impressed by this. We got to the dealership and was assisted by Calvin Smith and a female sales person (I forget her name) both were friendly and helpful. We ended up purchasing the vehicle, unfortunately husband informed me once we got home the vehicle only had a quarter tank of gas when he left the dealership. Mind you, it is about an hour drive from Hampton to Richmond. I called the dealership today and spoke to Manager Calvin Smith who informed me that their policy is to only put 5 gallons of gas in used vehicles, but new cars come with a full tank of gas, however he offered to put 10 gallons of gas in the vehicle the next time we are in Hampton. As a consumer, I feel this is unacceptable especially when the dealer knows you have driven an hour just to purchase the vehicle. As a courtesy it would have been nice to have left with more than a quarter tank of gas given that we did purchase ancillary products from the dealership as well. My husband had to stop mid trip home to put more gas in the vehicle. I have purchased two pre owned cars from different dealerships and each time the dealer filled the tank up. I think this policy is ridiculous. Each customer, regardless of what condition of car they purchase should leave with a full tank of gas. No customer wants to hear about what your policy is, we want fair treatment. I appreciate Calvin's offer to put gas in the vehicle the next time we are in Hampton, however we have no need nor desire to return to Hampton. Why drive an hour just to get 10 gallons of gas in a V8 vehicle? That's counterproductive at best. Now had he offered to mail a gas card the equivalent of 10 gallons that would have been acceptable, but that wasn't the case. More

Quality of Work: The dealership stated it was used car sale (not certified vehicle) and it was run through their shop. After I brought the car home I found a problem with the transmission, water in the taillight (which is illegal since it had a current inspection sticker), two days after driving the vehicle the check engine light came on. I had my own mechanic scan it and it was the catalytic converter. The car was sold as a used vehicle but clearly deception occurred for this purchase. I bought here because they had the used car I wanted with the amount of miles I wanted. I will not be a repeat customer and will not refer people to this dealership. Also, the vehicle was supposed to be cleaned for delivery to me. After being "cleaned" there was dust on the gear shift, radio & A/C controls. The truck had pieces of straw (definitely wasn't even vacuumed) and a spot on the passenger side that I was able to wipe off easily. Water spots were left on mirrors from the poorly washed job. The salesman told me I could wait, the "cleaning staff were quick --about 20 min. or so", I waited over an hour for an extremely poor cleaning job. my 11 year does a better job cleaning the car out! My wife and have been loyal customers for over 24 years and that's where it will end. I setup an online appointment thru "Hampton Chevy Website" when I arrived for my scheduled appt., My service adviser (J and that's where it will end. I setup an online appointment thru "Hampton Chevy Website" when I arrived for my scheduled appt., My service adviser (Jim Goslee) made it clear he didn't think much of on-line appts. and he was very busy with other orders and I would have to wait. Another adviser took over to help me I told them of the issues I was having and was told they would take a look at the problems. They called back and said they could fix the items they found and I authorized the work to be done. I was told that they would also give me an updated "more precise" estimate. Well, after waiting 5 days without a response, I called them and was told my van would not fit on their lifts? First off it took 5 days for you to decide this and still not respond to me, but I called 2 other competitors and they said "that's crazy" They had never heard such a thing. I guess I am still wondering why they did not want to work on my vehicle? I can assure you that I will never ever darken their doors again.......... Craig, Hampton More

I had a very bad experience with another collision center through my insurance co. USAA, I was referred to Ben Allison to complete a job the other collision center didn't do correctly. Ben was able to get me in right away, the state farm approved shop(Johnny Knocks)had a 5 week delay. Ben ensured that an excellent job was done on my repair. I had to leave my Trailblazer there for the day for them to fix a intake manifold gasket. I called Mike at around 3:13 pm to see how things were going. He said that he was not going to be able to get it finished today. I told him that I had class that evening so he told me to give him 10 minutes and he would see what he could do. He called back and told me that they would be able to complete it by 5 pm and that he was going to send the shuttle to pick me. I have always gotten good customer service at Hampton Chevrolet and will continue to get my service work done there. More
i ALWAYS GET THE BEST OF SERVICE FROM PHIL AND BRAD, THEY CAN ALWAYS GET ME IN ON A MOMENTS NOTICE, THEY GOT A REPAIR COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR ME JUST FOR BEING A GOOD CUSTOMER!
