Reading the story on their web site about how and why the company was founded, I had a sense this was not "just another used car dealer" and this impression proved to be true. Their professionalism, responsiveness, customer service, and integrity were all absolutely stellar. They do a thorough inspection and prep of the car which *exceeds* the requirements of MD inspection. I can't describe how well the car rides. It's a 2010 Corolla with 94K miles and yet, after they did their work on it, it literally felt like we were driving a brand new hybrid -- it literally felt that smooth. I've personally almost always bought new cars but I was so impressed with this dealership that I will likely consider buying a low mileage used car from them (rather than a new car) next time I'm in the market. Can't recommend this place highly enough! More

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! Purchased a 2008 Lexus RX400h for $16K, it broke down within miles of leaving the lot. Bernadette the sales rep didn’t returned my texts or calls, and I was stranded on the road side for hours. She returned my calls and texts immediately however when communicating about the purchase of said Lexus and a Corvette, that I thankfully decided to pass on because it was likely a lemon too. You walk into this place and there are flies everywhere and no one even speaks to you to ask if you need assistance. They refused to return my money despite them selling me a lemon that broke down immediately after purchase. Then I was forced to purchased another car and they acted like they did me a favor by taking $700 off of the overpriced retail price. Anyone off of the street could haggle that! Worked with the General Manager on it and was told they drive the cars home and use them for personal use to ensure the cars work, i.e. they run up mileage on the cars and clearly do not check to ensure the cars work. He treated me like he was doing me a favor when I was stuck buying a car from them because they refused to refund my money. Completely presumptuous and did not care anything about the drama I experienced with the purchase. Hands down not client/customer-oriented. Do not recommend buying anything in this place. Completely condescending and unprofessional back of the woods operation. Thankfully I wasn’t financing as I’m sure they prey on people and charge astronomical interest rates. I had initially thought I found a great dealership to purchase pre-owned vehicles but after this experience I wouldn’t buy a pencil from them. THE PRICE MAY INITIALLY SEEM REASONABLE BUT THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND ETHICS ISN'T WORTH IT OR THE DRIVE TO WESTERN BUBBLEFUC-! More

Do NOT buy from this untrustworthy dealership My husband called about a car we were interested in since we were driving over 1 hour. Car was still being detailed when we arrived and we waited approx 30 mins to see car. In the meantime we test drove another car that shaked horribly every time you touched the brakes. Once we got back from our test drive the car we came to see was FINALLY done! After the test drive we were inspecting the car and saw some rust spots and were no longer interested in buying the car. The owner reassured us he would have the car repaired at his shop within the upcoming week and give us a loaner car in the meantime. We regrettably agreed to purchase the car. He also promised us a key fab. It’s been 2 weeks since we bought the car and the owner is still giving us the run around. Since they’ve been no help to my husband I decided to call today and explain to Tony how we needed the service that we were promised done immediately since we’re planning a family trip right before the dates they could get us in. Which was 3 weeks past the time he personally promised. First time I called I asked to speak to the owner Tony and I was told very rudely that there is no one that works here by that name. Second time i called I was talked to with a horrible attitude. Please save your time, money, and avoid unnecessary stress. Do NOT waste your time with Hampstead Preowned. More

They were very good in showing me a selection I recently bought a Toyota Camry from Hampstead Pre-Owned. I had not known them prior to this purchase. They were very good in showing me a selection of cars in my price range. They were also very accommodating to my schedule needs so that I could buy the car. The sales person I worked with was very good in allowing me to think about each possible selection without interruption; I did not feel pressured at any stage of the purchase process. The actual purchase agreement process was also very easy and there was no pressure to up-sell additional features for the car. The paperwork part of the purchase was equally easy and efficient. If I were to buy another vehicle, I would now make Hampstead Pre-Owned my first dealer to shop. More

If yo are buying used, this is the place to go Ok, so 59 years have made me somewhat jaded and cynical especially with respect to auto dealerships. If you are into glitzy showrooms and "slick" sales people this won't be your place. If you want a great deal on a used vehicle while you work with people who are honest and bust their buttons to provide you information and service this is the right place. I have put a deposit on a used Mazda CX 9 on Saturday, The price was at least a thousand below any other credible offer I could find. The car had minor body damage but otherwise seemed fine. I was concerned about a lack of oil change records. After making the deposit I followed up by asking if I could bring an endoscopic camera up to look inside the oil pan and valve cover for evidence of engine sludge. Much to my delight they were fine with it and put the car on the lift and drained the oil so I cold use the camera. As it happens, the car had absolutely no interior sediments which would indicate non-maintenance. I was amazed at how they had no reluctance to offering me any insight into the car I wanted (in this case literally as well as figuratively). Each person I interacted with which included Erica, Anthony, Adam? their mechanic and a person from their body shop was patient and respectful without being fawning or fake. They clearly limited my expectations when appropriate and gave me honest straight forward answers to any questions I had. As I mentioned the car had minor body damage and they seem to specialize in finding good cars with minor damage, correcting and selling at them at an extremely competitive price, since they have their own body and paint shop. So their business model is a little different in that you are welcomed to see the car in its original condition and agree to what may need to be fixed and end up with a great value for your money. I found it hard to believe that the car could be this competitively priced and hence the endoscopic camera. Until I pick the car up, I can't really comment on how well the body work is completed but so far they have either performed exactly to the expectation they set or exceeded it. If the remainder of this experience goes this well I will drag any friend or family member to this place to purchase if looking for used car. So far they get five stars for honesty, service, integrity and the quality of the sales experience. I look forward to picking my vehicle up and will follow up with a post at that time. More

Lemon - buyer beware Picked up an 07 Subaru outback at the end of September. I was told the timing belt, water pump, and head gaskets had already been replaced. Here are t Picked up an 07 Subaru outback at the end of September. I was told the timing belt, water pump, and head gaskets had already been replaced. Here are the issues I had. 1. Coolant leak as I got the car home. Returned and within two days, was told a clamp had broken off, causing coolant to be sprayed onto the engine. 2. Pulling it out of the lot, found the tail light was out. Even though it has supposedly just passed inspection. They fixed this after I brought it up. 3. 2 months into owning the vehicle, the radiator is cracked and needs to be replaced. Either this is an unfortunate coincidence, or that leaking issue before wasn't a clamp, but instead a crack that could have been patched and popped open later for me. Cost $700 to replace radiator + hoses. 4. Constant misfires, auto zone suggested replacing the spark plugs even though I was told they were new. Spark plugs were not included in the power train warranty, but they would "help me out" in 5 weeks if I waited. 5. Spent about 1k getting smaller things fixed that weren't the issue. (sparkplugs, wires, ignition coil) 6. Passenger side airbag sensor went bad - $250 to replace. 7. Airbox has cracks - $200 to replace. 8. Main issue: Head gasket is leaking. Also, short block was grinded in some fashion from a past repair that it needs to be replaced entirely. Most likely head gasket/timing belt/water pump was not done, or hampstead preowned did not even recognize the damage to the short block. This repair is reaching towards $5,000. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt early on with the possible bad coolant hose clamp and the bad tail light... but they should have served as warning signs to not purchase the vehicle in the first place. Before you purchase or consider purchasing a vehicle from this dealer, have a mechanic -thoroughly- look over the vehicle. Spending the 500 then would have saved me 7k. Buyer be warned. More
