Craig was excellent! On my way to work this morning I ran over something in my 2017 Honda CRV and stopped at the dealer, since my car did not feel right afterwards. Worst Experience In A Professional Environment EVER! Saturday was my 2nd visit to Hamilton Honda. I went once I got off of work and didn’t make an appointment with the person who helped us initially so I Saturday was my 2nd visit to Hamilton Honda. I went once I got off of work and didn’t make an appointment with the person who helped us initially so I wasn’t surprised to see that he was currently assisting other customers. As he caught sight of me and recognized me, I informed him that I would wait until he was done and he thanked me. While waiting, I roamed the showroom as well as the lot. Once I came back into the building, he was speaking with someone else. This time I just stayed in his sight so the he knew where to approach me once he was ready. Which is what he did. However, After uncovering why I had returned and what my interests were, he informed me that they would soon be closing and asked if I could come back Monday. I explained that my current lease was up and that I was interested in purchasing another vehicle as soon as possible and that although I wouldn’t mind coming back, I worked until 7pm and that my work schedule made it impossible to arrive earlier. He informed me that that would be fine and that I could just come after work. So today (Monday) I go back, however I chose not to work with the same salesman because I felt that if I was courteous enough to patiently wait for him to finish handling business with his other customers, then it would only be fair to give me a few minutes of his time instead of rushing me out( we never sat down, I explained my reasons for visiting while standing and he sent me on my way). For this reason I worked with someone else. I made a 7:30pm appointment because that was the soonest I could get off work. I let the salesman know that I already knew what car, make, model and color I wanted. I did not want to test drive because I’ve already owned one and that I just wanted to start the purchasing process as quickly as possible. I looked at the car, let him know I was interested in purchasing it tonight and went in to start the paperwork. After answering all questions and going through the numbers, we were ready to make payment. However, I asked if I’d be able to take the car tonight. The salesman informed me that although he was completely fine with staying until the process was complete, he needed to make sure it was in agreement with what his Managers plans were. After waiting for him to confirm if he could continue with the process to it’s completion( me being able to take the car after I made payment), he returned with who I believe introduced himself as the finance Manager. The only respectful tone he gave me was when he introduced himself. After that, he sat down and said “ So what’s the problem?” I then explained that I came in straight after work with the intention on purchasing the vehicle this evening and explained that although I was ready to make payment however I didn’t want to make a 4th trip back. He then replied by saying ” We’re closed” ( it was 9:04pm by then) I explained that although I understood, if I came back, this would then be the 4th time I’d be returning and I was already turned away once because of the time, I came back as soon as I got off of work, I didn’t even test drive the car I was purchasing just because I was conscious of the time and wanted to speed up the process anyway I was able. His exact words to me were” I’m not keeping these lights on for you! You’re lucky I’m giving you the deal your getting. I’m losing (x amount of) money giving you this deal. I have employees to pay.... “( he continues to talk to me like I’m HIS child) and then restages “ I’m not keeping these lights on for you.” I then told him of my past experiences of my last 2 car leases I received from Toyota of Princeton. I explained that I was the last customer there but that they completed the process with me (in a respectful, friendly, and professional manner) and I was able to leave that evening with my new car. With No Money Down! Here ( at Hamilton Honda) I had never once asked to put no money down. Offered $2500 down payment and just asked that they complete the process and give me the same kind of service that I’ve been use to receiving from other dealerships ( this would have been our 5th leased vehicle). He told me they they were not Toyota and he wasn’t staying there to finish anything. He told me I could come back the next day. “ I asked how long would it take, he said about 2 hours ( mind you, I’ve already explained that I get off work at 7pm and can’t get there til 7:30pm which would again keep us there after 9pm). And Although he was EXTREMELY RUDE, I was still willing to come back ( only because the salesman had invested his time into assisting us and he was respectful and polite through the entire process) if I didn’t have to make a down payment which is what I expressed. The Manager asked why I didn’t want to leave a down payment. I told him it’s because I’d be leaving my money and still going home with nothing. He then told me ( in a loud and rude tone) that the down payment was to make sure no one else bought the car I wanted. (Truth be told. At this point, I no longer wanted to give them my business. I was so offended by the disrespect I received, I regretted not going to Toyota in the first place). I then got up and apologized to the salesman for wasting his time and told the Manager that I’ve never had these issues at Toyota and that that’s where I was going as I started to walk away I mentioned that I’ve never had to make any down payments there and always got what I wanted the same day. He then started yelling across the sales floor as I walked away, I was soooo angry because of the disrespect, that I turned around to respond, yet I reminded myself that I’m a Christian, so I just turned around and again apologized to Salesman for his time being waisted and walked out the doors. NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. More
Pay for service and parts I didn't get Everything was fine until I notice that the windshield blade I paid for were not replace with new ones. I took the car back after washing it and Mr. Velez came out to look it over. He found that in addition the blades the service area also didn't replace the two filters I paid for. He had them do the work asap and apologized for the inconvenience. I told him it makes me wonder if the other work I paid for was really done. I have been taking my car to this dealership since I purchased it even though the car repair places by me are less expensive because I trusted them. My trust is a little shaken. More
