I never would've thought that buying a car could be as easy as it was. When I decided on a visit to Hamer over the previous Toyota dealership I worked with, I was ready for the typical car salesman appro easy as it was. When I decided on a visit to Hamer over the previous Toyota dealership I worked with, I was ready for the typical car salesman approach I've experienced before. I was happily and surprisingly stunned that this didn't occur. From my initial phone call until I drove off the lot, Steve Denson guided me through the entire process. Never once did he try to fit me into a car. I knew what I wanted and Steve made sure he would see me get precisely that. Not only did I find the car but i got it at the right price and it only took a few hours. I couldn't have imagined that from a phone call to Hamer in the morning, I'd be literally in the driver's seat by the afternoon. Since my purchase a few weeks ago, Steve and the Hamer Family have kept in close contact with me to make sure I'm happy and satisfied with my Toyota. It's not just good business, it's great business. There is caring and concern from these fine people. I feel like I have a friend in Steve Denson and Cary Bunting. If you want a good car with great backing and the professionalism that goes with it, your one stop shop has to be Hamer. I'll be back and so will my friends. Thanks Steve. More
The experience was First Class from the start. I received an internet quote from Jerry. I then submitted my application online. The Right Car was in stock. Jerry had me in and out of the finance office in 20 minutes with a full tank of gas and my bluetooth activated for my phone. I couldn't be any happier. David O'Brien congratulated me on my purchase and Dave Gilman sent me a nice follow up letter. Jerry has called me a few times just to make sure I don't have any unanswered questions. I wouldn't be surprised if they threw a parade in my honor. Thanks for everything. I won't buy from anywhere else but HAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More
I had no problems with the salesperson that assisted me. Karo Hovsepyan was very helpful. I did however have a huge problem with the vehicle itself. My first experience with Toyota involved a 2012 Highlande Karo Hovsepyan was very helpful. I did however have a huge problem with the vehicle itself. My first experience with Toyota involved a 2012 Highlander. After 20 miles on the odometer there was a clunking in the steering column. I phoned Toyota and was told that it would get better after the break-in period, which I was told is 500 miles. After 700 miles the clunking got worse and I did not feel safe driving the vehicle. I brought the vehicle in for service and was told a couple of days later that they did not know what was wrong with it and that they had to call Toyota. I went to the dealership and spoke with Luis the service technician. He also told me that they didn't know what the problem was and that he had to call Toyota to find out that it was a steering column malfunction that goes to the electronic steering. I saw my vehicle while it was in service and the entire underneath of the dashboard and steering column was removed from my brand new vehicle. I explained to Luis that this I did not spend all of this money on a brand new car to have a factory defect in what I consider to be a safety issue. The next day I phoned and spoke to Larry Freeman and told him how upset I was over my new vehicle and that I did not feel safe driving it since the car made the clunking with only a few miles on it. You not only heard the noise you could feel it through the steering wheel. That is not a safe vehicle. Larry told me to come in and they would show me another car and that they (Toyota) would take care of me. The next morning I went to the dealership and I was told that if I wanted to get rid of the car that I would lose $3000.00 of my money that I had paid and I would have to pay $11,000.00 more to get a different car. I did not have any choice since I was not going to take the unsafe factory defective vehicle that they sold me before. Then I was sold a 2012 Highlander that was not the same color, I had agreed to settle for the white with tan interior. I had also agreed to pay extra for an upgrade for the tech package, since my husban just had open heart surgery and needed a power seat, they had to drive it from Long Beach. Since then I my husband has put about 400 miles on it and now this, another brand new Highlander is making the same clunking. Since I cannot afford to lose any more money on yet another factory defective brand new vehicle, I am forced to explore other legal options. As I said before I did not have any problems with my salesman. Karo did everything in his power to help me, but was also forced by the manufacturer to allow such an injustice to be done. This was my first experience with purchasing a brand new vehicle and I can honestly say that it was an awful experience. I feel like the dealer and the manufacturer took advantage of me. The only person that seemed to be concerned with my feelings was Karo, he actually called me just to see how I was doing and to apologize for the problems that I was forced to deal with. Karo is a compassionate human being and Toyota needs more people like him. I don't know if all of the Toyota dealerships are the same but I am very disappointed with my vehicle and the way I was treated by the dealership and the manufacturer. More
