They worked with me on the price and negotiated the fees so we reached a happy medium. I worked with Zermin and Steve, both were straightforward, professional, responsive, and helpful. After visiting several dealership in NJ and dealing with the stereotypically sleazy and pushy sales staff, Hamden was a breath of fresh air. Honestly confused about the negative reviews on here, I would recommend this place to friends and family. More

The car deal they offered was ridiculously expensive, but chopped up in lots of vaguely identifiable fees. Tax and fees added $4,964 to the cost of the car. Additionally, they would not give me a copy of their offer, although I could take a picture. I’d guess the 2018 CX-5 cost less new then it was now being offered used to me. My experience at Hamden Mazda made me think of the research that shows women pay more for cars than do men. I KNOW the market is tight for used cars but my car had been totaled and I had to deal with the current market. In the world of used cars, I would not recommend any dealership and this one seemed no worse than the others. More
I recently purchased a brand new CX crossover vehicle. They lowballed me on my trade-in, and would not budge on the MSRP price. In light of that, I told them they needed to give me some sort of discount because the monthly payments were going to be a bit high. I felt that the least they could do, because I did not make an attempt to haggle on my MSRP or the true worth of my trade-in, was give me a discount with the delivery charge. The sales manager agreed that he would not charge me for delivery, but as I was finishing up the paperwork with the finance manager, I wanted to make sure I was not being charged Total Loss Protection (an optional charge). She told me that TLP was in the final sale and part of the “deal”. I told her it was optional and that I’d never asked for TLP. She asked me if that meant no deal, and I said yes, I would not buy the car if TLP was in the final sale because its optional and I never asked for it. She went to talk to the sales manager, came back into her office, and proceeded to tell me that the sales manager would let it go. If not illegal, this action was highly immoral and deceptive. Had I not inquired about TLP, I would have been charged for it, and not known until it was too late. A few days later, while reviewing my receipts from the purchase, I noticed that they charged me the maximum delivery charge of $699, despite having agreed to not charge me for it. When I texted my salesperson regarding this discrepancy, he told me “I’m sorry that it had to end like this, but I have no control over what the finance manager and sales manager put in the final contract”. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership to anybody. More
Who ever is reading this, I just want to share the horrible experience I had at Hamden Mazda sales person Mr Steve and his manager ( the outlet manager). They agreed to sell a car and then later decid horrible experience I had at Hamden Mazda sales person Mr Steve and his manager ( the outlet manager). They agreed to sell a car and then later decided not to sell. They asked more money then they agreed and force us to do financing too that too after we did the test drive and set to sign the papers. I have everything in my text message thus they technically can’t deny. Even after agreeing on those terms they didn’t sell and just said they don’t want to sell. We wasted our 1hr. I hope the leadership at Mazda Hamden have a look at these practices and fail to comply with commitments. I had high regards since some of my friends did buy cars few years back, unfortunately this hasn’t been our experience.. very sad More
Just purchased a CX 30 at Hamden Mazda and had a great experience. I worked with a first-rate salesperson, Dean Artusa, who was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. The dealership had a good invent experience. I worked with a first-rate salesperson, Dean Artusa, who was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. The dealership had a good inventory, considering the issues with new and used car supply that we’re all facing in late-Covid. A great car at a reasonable price for the current market. More
If I could give them -1 star I would. It was the worst experience of my life. I had called prior to coming and told the sales person what I wanted and I was ready to buy. He said they had two cars. I dro experience of my life. I had called prior to coming and told the sales person what I wanted and I was ready to buy. He said they had two cars. I drove the 30 minutes to the dealership and I was made to wait another 30 minutes once I arrived. Then I was told he would go get the car to test drive. Some 20 minutes went by and then I was told it got in an accident so I could not drive it. Then I found out that the second car was in the shop getting serviced. I approached the manager ( JOE) and he was very rude. I told him this was a terrible experience and how could they treat customers like this and he told me if I did not like it I could leave. YES HE ACTUALLY DID! Eventually when I asked to speak to the GM FERMIN, Joe told me he was tied up so I said I would wait. He never came out and I went to tell Joe and he told me to leave the dealership. He physically got in my face. I raised my voice at him saying to back off. He wouldnt get out of my face. I then started filming him and he backed off but glared at me the whole time. HOW CAN THIS DEALERSHIP SURVIVE? How can anyone want to buy from these people? A disgrace to Connecticut car dealerships. I know that dealerships have leverage now but you never treat people this way. The market will turn around and my hope if that this dealership will not survive. Look at what others are saying. I am not the only one. Partyka Mazda should be ashsamed of herself. More
