He did everything he could to make sure I was not only happy with the Tacoma but that it was exactly what I wanted. He did a very good job explaining the truck and the warranty. Never did I feel pressured to buy. In fact it was quite the opposite. He was very professional with me, especially since I was crunched for time. Chris Vandalo and Charles worked with my schedule to be there first thing in the morning so we could complete the sale. Victoria Terry in the finance department is a wounderful person to work with. She explianed all the finance details making the whole processes go smoothly and quickly. Fil Catania runs a straight forward no nonsense car dealership, it was a very pleasurable experience. I will recommend to anyone we know wanting to buy a car and I will definitely buy from Toyota of EC again when looking to make another purchase. More

I looked at their website and found a couple that were of interest to me. I sent an inquiry and Cara contacted me back where I proceeded to explain my situation and what I was hoping to accomplish. I was told that it should not be a problem and she emailed me their credit application which I completed and submitted. Cara called back to say she had received it and we could absolutely work the deal. I made an appointment with her to meet on Saturday morning, drove 1.5 hours to see her where I was passed off to a salesman named Joe who informed me that the credit application was actually NOT submitted as they needed a physical signature. This was a little irritating but I signed the app and went over everything a second time. Joe came back and said they could work a deal with 500 down but it would need to be on a specific vehicle which was not one of the ones I asked about initially. I looked at it and decided that it would fit my needs so I took it for a test drive while Joe and the "business manager" worked out paperwork for me to sign and complete if I liked it. I did like the vehicle which would have been my 3rd choice and was waiting for the contract etc. Joe came back and suddenly the same bank allegedly wanted more money down (a 75% increase mind you) or no go. Either Joe lied to me prior to the test drive or the owner:business manager did. Needless to say, I did not take this deal and a little later I contacted Cara who informed me she knew nothing about my deal but would have Joe call me to explain the bizarre increase. Still waiting. This is the classic hair and switch that give car dealerships the reputation they deserve. More
Do not waste your time here. I was initially referred to Toyota of EC by the USAA car buying service which generated a TrueCar certificate for the vehicle that I wanted and I was I was initially referred to Toyota of EC by the USAA car buying service which generated a TrueCar certificate for the vehicle that I wanted and I was contacted by the dealership through their Internet Consultant. I drove from Norfolk, VA to EC which is about an hour or so drive. Once I arrived I went on a test drive while my vehicle was being appraised. When I got back, I was in a bit of a rush to pick up a friend from the airport, which they were totally fine with they got me some numbers on the vehicle and I had to correct them right away. The advertised internet price was 31K, they were trying to sell me the Tacoma at 34K and some change. (It is important to note that I assumed that they had word on my TrueCar certificate since the internet consultant set up my appointment ahead of time and this is how I was initially referred to the dealership.). This was apparently not so. Once the salesperson, Chuck Hall, verified that the website had an internet sales price of 31K listed, his tune changed a bit. He and the sales manager insisted that I go with their financing - I gather that this is because they had already quoted me an appraisal on my vehicle based on their selling price of 34K (A last ditch effort to make a few thousand off of me by getting the finance reserve % -- since they were not making the $$ off me that they thought they would). I left that Friday and thought about all this. I contacted Chuck the next day to discuss the vehicle and he started talking about the internet price not being correct due to fine print on the bottom of the webpage which included a military discount and a college grad discount, both of which were taken off the Internet Sales Price erroneously. Basically, the internet price was a farce to lead people into the dealership. Once I brought up my TrueCar certificate in a conversation on a later date, he pretty much did his best to ignore my conversations - via email and text after that. I tried contacting management through email, never to receive any responses to my emails. My opinion: this is a very rude dealership that uses questionable tactics to lead people on. Also, I am surprised that they are affiliated with TrueCar.com or USAA since they don't want to honor their certificates. I hope USAA removes them from their Car Buying Service -- it is a shame that military personnel (or any one for that matter) have to deal with a shady dealership such as this one! More

Was told they did 98 point inspection on used car we bought My wife bought a 2009 Hyundai Accent with 76,000 miles on it for my son who's a freshmen in college..I met her and the salesman in town to test ride. My wife bought a 2009 Hyundai Accent with 76,000 miles on it for my son who's a freshmen in college..I met her and the salesman in town to test ride. Supposedly they replaced front brakes, tires, battery and drive belt, and threw in the 75,000 service. The car rode fine and the only thing I noticed was a ticking sound from the rear when I applied the brakes right before stopping. I shutoff the car and mentioned that to the salesman. We looked in the trunk and because the jack was loose in the spare tire area he attributed that to the sound I heard. But said they would check it out. I left at that point and noticed in my rear view mirror as I went down the street that they were still parked. I figured they were BSing or something. My wife told me later the car wouldn't start after I shut it off. They had to tow back to dealership and replaced the starter. The next day we get the car and I noticed a screeching sound when starting the vehicle. I had a friend of mine look at it and he said the steering and starter belt needed tightened. He also noticed the clicking sound in the rear when I slowly came to a stop. He said no problem rear brakes need adjusted. Wife took it back and they replaced the rear brake shoes and adjusted. Works fine now. However they said they just replaced the belts and they were fine. I took it for a ride and car made a screeching sound upon starting. Then driving down the rode it would screech on every turn made and upon taking off at a red light or stop sign. This time I took it there and showed the service manager the video I took of it screeching and he said the belts need replaced. No problem. The service technician took me for a ride afterwards and finally it was fixed. He stated he had to tighten the alternator and power steering belts. Ya think!!!! Took 3 trips to service to get it right. More

We agreed on a pr On Sept. 12th I purchased a 2014 Highlander from this dealership through the USAA Car Buying service. Everything started out fine! We agreed on a price and the finance manager was able to arrange financing that was actually a bit better than my pre-approved rate thru USAA. During the pre-delivery inspection I noted that a piece of interior trim was broken. The dealership agreed to repair it and deliver it to my home in Virginia. When the Highlander was delivered the courtesy driver and I noted that one of the electronic smart keys was missing. Upon contacting the dealership my sales consultant indicated that he couldn't locate a second key. He asked me to give him "10 minutes" and he would call me back. That was three weeks ago. I have called, emailed and texted my sales consultant, tried to reach a manager by phone and have written to the general manager. No one at the dealership has had the courtesy to follow up in any manner. The dealership uses the slogan "Customer for Life." Perhaps they should change the slogan to "Customer for Life or Until you drive off the lot, whichever comes first!" More
