I came into the service area for an inspection and oil change. Steve recommended I get the induction service. I did. When I returned to the dealer early, they went out of their way to see how long it would take to finish the car. I didn't even ask. I didn't care because I like hanging out there. Everyone asks you how you are doing. Everything about this place, from the fast garage doors, to the ease of entry and exit, and the people, make this all the more the ultimate driving machine. Easy to pull in and out of service garage door, with check-in all being handled indoors with no need to be exposed to bad weather. i brought my 2006 BMW 325xi to Haberstad BMW of Bay Shore in Dec. 2011 to have a leaking valve cover gasket replaced. The price I was quoted for this job was around $500. Steve lagala, my advisor suggested that my car needed several other repairs to which I agreed. I love my BMW, I am not mechanically inclined and I trusted BMW of Bay Shore to do the right thing. Steve called me the next day and told me that my car had a transmission leak and that it would be cheaper to fix then and there while they had the car apart. I reluctantly agreed, though I've never had a problem with my transmission. The total bill came to over $2,700. Several days later I noticed a hesitation upon acceleration when the car had been running for awhile. I brought the car in to have the mechanic look it over and was told the car was fine, there was nothing wrong with my car. But Steve did suggest that I needed work done on my front end to the tune of $1,700. The hesitation problem problem persisted so I brought it back about two weeks later. This time, Steve told me I needed a new transmission and quoted me a price of almost $8,000. I was stunned. I am convinced that Habberstad BMW of Bay Shore did a lot of expensive, unnecessary repairs just for the sake of billing me and in the process screwed with my transmission and caused the problem I now have. Furthermore, they are unwilling to take any responsibility for the damage they have done to my car. Needless to say, I would steer anyone considering a BMW repair far way from Haberstad BMW of Bay Shore. I am convinced that if BMW of B.S had simply done the repair I had originally requested, my car would be fine. More
I haven't received my current service yet. However, I have a slow leak in my tire and I called this morning regarding that leak. I was told to come in before 3 on Saturday or before 5 on a week day. I stopped in today expecting to have the matter resolved and I was told that I need to come back Monday, as there aren't any more loaner cars available, or I could wait an hour or so to have the tire looked at. I am a busy person and I should have gotten a loaner car today instead of having to return on Monday at 7:40AM at your convenience. When I purchased this car, part of the sales pitch was the exemplary service that I would receive. Up to this point, after two experiences, I'm disappointed. I want to make one trip to drop my car off to be fixed and one return trip to pick up a "fixed" car. And I think both visits should be accomplished quickly. I can't find fault with any particular sales representative, as similar protocol seems to have been followed both times. Last time I was also told to stop in. When I did, the car needed to have some work done on it, but no loaner cars were available, so I had to wait over twenty minutes for someone from Hertz to arrive with a car. This time, when I asked for that, I was told I could be shuttled somewhere. My time is most valuable to me, and I would like to know that car service, while a necessary inconvenience, should be easier than my experiences thus far. More

Car was brought in over night on Saturday due to computer failure. Dealership had night drop off. Was called the following Sunday by manager to confirm receipt of car. Was told by Ben, SA, that work had b failure. Dealership had night drop off. Was called the following Sunday by manager to confirm receipt of car. Was told by Ben, SA, that work had begun and found the problem already. Had explained this had happened before and computer reflash was done to original ECU unit. ECU unit replaced, took 2 days for BMW to approve the replacement. Took another 2 days to receive part and complete programming. Was picked up on Monday the following week. Only concern was when I called the service dept on Saturday, was told first that it would definitely not be completed until Monday due to them having to have it inspected and approved by BMW. Called again just to confirm it was being worked on and was told that the tech was not even in that day to be working it. Felipe called back to assure that the tech was there and would be staying late to complete the car. Was satisfied when Ben called on Monday morning to confirm the car had been completed. More
Long time loyal customer. I leased 2 vehicles and I bought 2 vehicles from your dealership from Huntington. I have been taking my cars to your Bayshore location for service. Unfortunately Service advis bought 2 vehicles from your dealership from Huntington. I have been taking my cars to your Bayshore location for service. Unfortunately Service advisers are not properly doing their jobs. I came in for repairs and they told me that my extended warranty and CPO expired. How come none of your advisers "advised" me that my extended warranty and CPO was going to expire anytime soon and we should have done some maintenance before the expiration or vice verse. The reason i bought extended warranty because i was advised that it is worth to get extended warranty and CPO because it will pay it self off when my car hits 100K mile. My car is at 80K miles and warranty expired. Your Advisors are not living up to their titles. On top of that, I have mentioned that my cup holder was not working and my cup holder was not fixed and it was not even listed in the estimate. I am very disappointed with the latest services in your dealership. I have an AUDI dealership closer to my house and they are doing everything to earn my business. I hope Habberstad will live up to its name. More
By far the best service experience I've had, among all dealerships I've been to. The price was a little higher than some other BMW dealerships I've been to. Mary took my call the evening prior to my visit and got me an appointment first thing the next morning. Mary remembered me the next morning, got me right in for service as promised, and I was out in about me an appointment first thing the next morning. I am not easily impressed - but I was truly impressed this time. The entire staff was very friendly and truly seemed to care about my car and about making me comfortable while I waited for my car.
