****BUYER BEWARE*****I have bought a lot of cars in my lifetime and Gurnee dodge is the worst dealership I have ever been in. Their sales tactics and people are what give car sales people a bad name. They told me that one of the sales people I was working with was the sales manager and he turned out to be just a regular sales associate. They didn't return calls or follow up. They gave me one price over the phone and when I got in changed the price. It wasn't until I threatened to walk out that they gave me the price we agreed on. I refused to do business with them and left. When I called the actual sales manager to complain he talked in circles and refused to take ownership or try to make it right. The sales people I worked with were Justin Milem, Mike Fagan, and Mitch Horwitz. Stay away from this dealership and these sales people. More
Went in to have a truck worked on and they told us it would be a quick fix. We were told the truck was in prefect running condition and we paid for it and were told to pick it up the next day. That "quick fix" turned into $1737.37 and getting back a vehicle that was in worse condition than when we had brought it in. The truck wouldn't drive and wouldn't stay running. I complained to several people and was told it was due to our after-market parts. Which it's not because those parts have been on our truck for years and this problem started a month ago. I was also told the technicians had to "GUESS" at the problem and when they couldn't fix it, they told us to take the truck and they didn't want to deal with it anymore. After calling to get my money back, we were told it was our fault the truck didn't drive and they wouldn't refund us or fix the REAL problem free of cost. I now have an open case with Chrysler Corporation and they are paying for the repairs to be done at a different dealership. (This dealership was able to locate the exact problem within a matter of hours and we're on our way to getting our truck back after a month of it being out of service.) I would not recommend this dealership at all for anything. I am a loyal Chrysler customer (I've owned several Jeeps and my fiance has owned several Dodges) and now I am rethinking my loyalty!!! More
My son bought a Jeep through the dealership. On the window sticker it said a hard top and soft top came with it. When we got in the car the soft top was not there. We were told it was in the warehouse and that he would get it. We signed the papers and we were then notified that they could not find the top. We were promised that he would be getting us next week. That was in May of 2011, now it is April 2012. We call no less then 9 times and got no where. He stopped returning my calls so I called the store manager. The manager made it sound like Todd was "sweetening" the deal by throughing it in. NO we paid to the top that we never got. I wish I had reviewed the dealership before we bought there. This was my son's first car that he bought and the experience was horrible. So now along with paying for college he has to buy a soft top for a car that he alread bought but never got. Really bad when you need to cheet a kid!! More
Each time when we arrive for service, price is outrageous for service with stuff not needed. Charged $125 for an evaluation. Dishonest. Never a line. Always fast. This dealership was great, all the way from sales Justin, and the service department Steven and Mitch, sales manager. Every time i come in i am treated with respect. We had a deal made to purchase a new car. Even had keys in our hand. We shook on deal and went to see the guy about extended warrenty. Then finance man came and said we need to put more money down. We had a set deal and at the end he came and changed it. Very dissappointing. Sales/Finance never respond to emails and always say they will call back and they won't . They guy in finance is such a jerk to. Will never recommend this dealer! More
Bought a used car, and was very difficult to get direct questions answered. Definitely an experience were what they said was not what was done. Damage was done to my new vehicle when returned for service less than a week after purchase. Even though Manny did everything possible to get the damaged fixed, it took almost a month and $100 out-of-p service less than a week after purchase. Service dept is rude and very unhelpful. I was told that the problem i addressed was fixed and it wasnt. I had my car in 4 times in a year and a half. Now after I have3 mentioned many times my window rarely rolls up. My radio decides if it wants to work most of the time. My air cleaner box is still broken after the dealer broke it. A sad excuse for a family run dealer. Gurnee Dodge will never get my business or anyone I knows business again. DISGUSTING... More
