My daughter and I were shopping for a new VW convertible lease a couple of months ago. I called John because I was receiving friendly letters from him reminding me of our current lease end and to contact him should I be interested in re-leasing a new VW. Out of interest, I did call and we had a great conversation without feeling the pressure of having to do anything. We kept the communication going and finally came in to look at the car, test drive it and run some numbers. We explained from the beginning that we wanted to think about it and might not be ready for a few days or a few weeks. John, being a great salesperson, kept his distance, but also gently followed up about a week later. It was during this time that we decided the VW convertible was not the car we wanted. Now, you might ask why am I praising John... well... he is different from other car salespeople I have worked with. For one thing, he is knowledgable of the VW cars - all of them. He knew the cars and explained them accurately. Second, although we did not lease a new VW, his proposed numbers for the car we would have leased, were within striking distance of where my daughter and I wanted to be. Third, I found him to be honest. He was more concerned about helping you/guiding you to the car you wanted vs. the car he wanted to sell you. I believe someday, I will lease or purchase another VW and John will be the only person I call - Period! More
