Worst Customer Service This has been one of the worst customer service experiences ever. The lease was ending on my vehicle and was looking forward to leasing a new vehic This has been one of the worst customer service experiences ever. The lease was ending on my vehicle and was looking forward to leasing a new vehicle. Bottom line, I could never get anyone at the dealer to call me back. Two different times i was left voice mails by sales inquiring about my lease ending and what I wanted to do. Both times I called, their calls were never returned. At one point I was speaking to their receptionist and asked to speak to the person who called me. She stated that he was not in. Didn't ask me if wanted to leave a message. Didn't ask me what I wanted and if anyone else could help me. She let me hang up. I even asked for the General Managers email address so that i could share my experience with him. I'm not looking for anything other than to ensure that anyone else trying to do what I was did not experience the same. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW HIS EMAIL ADDRESS. Because of this I am now posting this here and anywhere else it might be viewed. I would rather keep my grievances private, however when a business allows you no other choice, this is what you get. Finally after trying and not getting anywhere and out of frustration I thought it would easier to just purchase the vehicle. BIG MISTAKE. I called and scheduled an appointment to meet with James at 2PM to purchase my car at the end of the lease. Keep in mind that I live in Miami and this is a 45 minute drive for me. I get there at 2PM and when I tell him I have an appointment he tells me he's busy and that it will be a while. I remind him that i have an appointment and ask if there is anyone else who can help me. He states no and that i need to come back in an hour. So reluctantly I agree and return at 3PM. At 3PM he is finally free and I sit in his office only for him to tell me that Gunther needs to inspect my car and that it will take an hour. I don't know why they needed to inspect my car as it was already inspected as per the end of lease agreement by a third party hired by VW. I even show him the paperwork. They could not give me a good reason as to why it needed to be inspected other than to ensure that they were selling me a safe car. Again the car was already inspected and i'm agreeing to purchase the car (in cash) outright AS IS. But no it is reiterated that the inspection must happen. Of course they could have told me this at 2PM and started the process, but as my time means nothing to them they did not start the inspection until after 3PM. The inspection took an hour and a half. To James' credit he did apologize several times and twice acknowledged that we had a 2PM appointment. But apologies ring hollow. He offered to wash my car and fill it up if and when I return to Coconut Creek in the future. Again I live in Miami and I’m not going to drive 45 minutes for a car wash and a tank of gas. The final disrespect happened when I wrote a check for the car after having been denied using my American Express. I understand that they don't want people to use credit cards because of the fees, however it shouldn't matter how one pays so long as the dealer gets paid. When I wrote and handed the James the check, he asked me "do you have enough funds in your account to cover this?" Seriously?!? I should have walked away from the sell at that point but I did not and I will have to now live with allowing them to treat me this way. Oh yea and I didn't mention the $699 fee that they added to the sell price. James' response to this was "even I have to pay that." Do yourself a favor and if you are going to lease a car, use a Leasing Agent. It will be cheaper, take less time and they will come to your house. Just go to Gunther to test drive their cars and then run, don't walk away. UPDATE; Just this morning I get an automated call from the Gunther Service Department telling me that my vehicle is ready for pickup. I bought it and drove it away on Saturday. When i called back they said that they must have called me by mistake. CLOWNS. More
