I have leased/bought 3 cars from Gunther Mazda. Always used the same Salesman(Jim Collins). When Gunther called me to let me know that my lease was coming to an end in a few months(which I already knew) a used the same Salesman(Jim Collins). When Gunther called me to let me know that my lease was coming to an end in a few months(which I already knew) and asked if I wanted to come in to look for a new car. I made them aware that I was going to purchase my car with the lease buyout option. I called them a few days later to let them know that I was coming with a check and was ready to sign and buy. I asked them to please have the paperwork ready as I will be there in a few hours. I was told, "Absolutely, no problem!" I showed up a few hours later to find out that I needed to wait an hour just to speak with anybody that could help me. When I was finally talking to Jim, no paperwork or anything was ready. He told me that he had to get my buyout "number" for me. I showed him my contract, which very obviously states the lease buyout price. He came back 20 minutes later with a "Number". This number had an additional $2,000 added to what the lease buyout was supposed to be. Nowhere in the contract does it state anything about these fees. He admits to me, that these are dealer fees, which he stated were NON-NEGIOABLE. I let him know that I already paid dealer fees on this car when I first leased it. I walked out on them. Called Chase(my finance company), and they gave me the correct buyout number. I ended up selling my car to CARVANA, and they handled the lease buyout directly with Chase and everything, with the correct price. Gunther is mad that people are able to make some money off of their cars, so they want to gouge people now. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRICKS AND SCAMS PEOPLE. I will never deal with any Gunther dealership again. More
I switched to Mazda after leasing BMW’s and Audi and never looked back! I was referred to Jodi Weisfeld at Gunther Mazda Ft. Lauderdale, even though I have a Mazda dealer 5 minutes away I chose to go wi never looked back! I was referred to Jodi Weisfeld at Gunther Mazda Ft. Lauderdale, even though I have a Mazda dealer 5 minutes away I chose to go with Gunther that was 45 minutes from my house because of Jodi being so awesome. I leased my first Mazda two and a half years ago, all with texting and Jodi had the car delivered to my home, on my birthday with a large red bow on top. This past Tuesday I went in for my regular maintenance check and thought I would introduce myself to Jodi since we had never met in person. Jodi offered me such a FANTASTIC deal on a new Mazda that it would have been dumb not to accept. The car is decked out with all the high end features I didn’t even have in my Audi. I drove away that day with a new car! I love how the entire Gunther Mazda team is so friendly and I felt no pressure whatsoever from Jodi. The only difficult decision was which color to choose. Very happy customer! More
Purchased 3 cars from Gunther Mazda in Ft lauderdale, referred 2 others and Took my sibling there to get a new car. Jim Collins I’m new car sales whom I purchased my 2 cars from completely embarrassed me referred 2 others and Took my sibling there to get a new car. Jim Collins I’m new car sales whom I purchased my 2 cars from completely embarrassed me in front of my sibling. On our way there I talked Jim up on how amazing he was amd helpful with my purchase. Long story short he told me we have to pay Msrp “because of THE chip shortage”… I asked several times about the best deal. He literally pointed to a car window sticker and my sibling said” are you kidding me, Jim we went and looked at your new car inventory and had 42 CX5 on your lot” he said “it’s a different time, here’s my card “ GTFOH. Never again. We were so polite and trying to stay positive. Anyways, that day we went to another Mazda dealer, got $2300 off MSRP and we are happy. I would not recommend Jim again. More
Went in to buy a car, made an appt with salesperson, I said I will meet you in the showroom. When I got there he was not in the showroom and none of the other sales people would go and find him. (the appt said I will meet you in the showroom. When I got there he was not in the showroom and none of the other sales people would go and find him. (the appt was set for a certain time) we looked at the car ourselves and when we were ready to leave the guy we had the appt with showed up. When I inquired about the price the sales person starts giving me a lecture and trying to educate me on global chip shortages. I said I am not here to buy chips does this car come with the missing chip and he looks at me like he does not know what I am asking. He went on and on for 20 minutes about the global chip shortage not that I cared about, so what I wanted to know did this car I am lookig at had the required chips in it or not. He looked at me like he did not understand what I was asking. Then I said how much are you willing to sell this car for if I buy it now, he comes back with $5500 over msrp and I said not interested in paying over msrp, He said his manager told him he can not sell the car any less than $5500 over msrp because everybody wants the car and he is the only dealership that has one. So then I inquired if the car is 1 model year old and everybody wants one then why is the car still on your lot. So I made him an offer at full msrp plus tax and tags and said take my offer to your boss. He said no, so we left. After I left I got 4 calls and 3 messages fro the dealership. Funny I thought they have a car that everybody wants and wiling to pay $5500 over msrp. Well they got my business, on the way home I stooped at a chevolet dealership and they had 5 corvettes on their lot, I found the one I wanted, within 1 hour I was out the door in a new Corvette for only $10,000 more than Gunther Mazda wanted for a miata More
I went in to purchase a bigger vehicle, I told the salesman I could only afford the total out the door 19999.00 he said "we can do this" I said okay, I signed my car over, got to sign documents is whe salesman I could only afford the total out the door 19999.00 he said "we can do this" I said okay, I signed my car over, got to sign documents is when I saw what I was being charged close to 30000. I told the guy no I could not do this, its to much money and with the dealer fees, I could go elsewhere, he said you already sold us your car. I was forced to buy this Mazda CX 5. Its the worst car I have ever purchased. runs rough, always pulls to the right, has a vibration in it. Do not buy a vehicle from these people. I have taken the vehicle in numerous times, they told me its the driver not the vehicle. I tried taking the vehicle back within the 3 days, NICK blocked me and refused my calls, when I told him I was coming in, he conveniently was not there, I was told the only way I could return the car was through the salesman. If you really want a Mazda, Go to a different dealer. Gunther Mazda are shady. My mistake for selling them my car first. Back stabbers. My mistake for not paying better attention to how fast I got blind sided. More
I purchased a car 3 years ago for my self, then 3 weeks later I took my mom and she got a brand new car. Over the next 3 years of my lease had 2 co workers purchase 2 more new cars. I had a ok sales exper later I took my mom and she got a brand new car. Over the next 3 years of my lease had 2 co workers purchase 2 more new cars. I had a ok sales experience with Jim in new cars sales and great 3 years with Anthony in the service department . Every service visit I went to he was outstanding. Finally I take my sister for her first new car purchase. We went to see Jim in sales and he was assisting another customer, we waiting and he was attentive, he seemed to be helpful at first. He brought a car key, let us sit in the car and long story short did the “salesman dance” between us and the customer he was delivering a new car too. Then got another salesman to help. After reminding him we got 2 cars from him and numerous co worker referrals he said the expected “ it’s a different time, low inventory, no discounts , maybe $750 off msrp” are you kidding me . I’ve help you get over $150k in sales between these 4 car sales and you tell me that all you can do for me . He had over 40 CX5 in inventory. Used the new tool /trick “chip shortage” bull. 40 plus cars ……Wow. Thank Jim, no help. Brushed us off to another guy and wouldn’t not even sit us down and give us a number. Literally our number was pointing to a MSRP on a window sticker in the showroom. “That’s the number ..” I can do 750 off that “…. What !!! . 🧐😡… anyways… We went to Mazda of north Miami and spent our $33,500 on a new car there , we got a car at a $2,400 discount and my sister had a great experience. You lost me Gunther . Maybe he was having a bad day or over worked ..but still , I bragged about my experience previously for the last 3 years. Send numerous references and Unfortunately Jim and his “30+ years of experience “ were anything but embarrassing and insulting. I’d go back to Gunther but I’d never be embarrassed again referring him to a friend or family member again . Find someone else or enjoy back and forth dreaded act and stereotypical salesman puppet show. ✌🏽 More
Went into explore purchasing a 2018 or 2019 Cx5 for my son but I was hesitant because I had read reviews regarding the power train on this model. When I asked Marius (who also brought his sales manager ov son but I was hesitant because I had read reviews regarding the power train on this model. When I asked Marius (who also brought his sales manager over to confirm) they BOTH said the has never been an issue with the power train on this car and it must have been their competitors who wrote such misinformation on the internet. Turns out that there is a HUGE SAFETY issue for this model as it just stalls for no reason with no warning. The power train issue is so great that Mazda issued a recall on the software that controls it so that cars don’t stall. This recall began in July 2019. Why on earth did my sales rep nor the sales manager know of the recall on this car? Perhaps they were lying to me - directly to my face, to get the sale??? I will NEVER go into any Gunther dealership because these two have me questioning the dealerships credibility. Forget the potential cost. The potential safety issue is unforgivable not to disclose.
