We were In the process of purchasing a 2006 Acura RSX and when we were presented with the price breakdown. I questioned the Dealer’s Inventory tax that I was responsible to pay for. Even though it was a mere when we were presented with the price breakdown. I questioned the Dealer’s Inventory tax that I was responsible to pay for. Even though it was a mere $25+ I’m still a man of principle and don’t believe I should pay for something the dealer is responsible for paying himself. This is a great example of how this particular dealer can pass on fees to their customers. I walked away to do more researching on the Internet and came upon this statement, “The Dealer’s inventory tax charge is intended to reimburse the dealer for ad valorem taxes on its motor vehicle inventory. The charge, which is paid by the dealer to the county tax assessor-collector is not a tax imposed on a consumer by the government, and is NOT required to be charged by the dealer to the consumer.” I called GUNN ACURA and asked if they could waive the $25+ fee and I will come in to do up the paperwork. GUNN ACURA did not accept my condition and explained to me that it was a sales tax paid to the county tax assessor and they were not willing to waive the fee. It saddens me that they were not empathetic to customers during these tough economic times and cared only about their “bottom Line.” Well, needless to say I did not do any more business with this dealership and will not recommend them to any of my friends and relatives. I’m a military veteran and hope military folks and veterans alike, closely question this dealership’s core values. Next time you go ahead with a purchase and think they are on your side, closely examine all fees tacked on to your final price and question the ones you aren’t sure about. If they weren’t willing to waive a $25 fee/tax, what other fees can they pass on to you? Or you can just skip this dealer and spend your money with a dealership who’s willing to work with their customers. More
I'm not a very good negotiator and Gunn takes all that worry out of the picture. It is truly a no haggle environment. Once they set the price that's it. I was missing some of the paperwork that I needed to finalize the deal, but they didn't seem to mind and they worked around it so that I could take my car home that night. I had a trade in for my car and I thought they were very generous on what they offered me for it. This is my second car that I've bought from them and after this experience I don't think I'll be going any where else. More

The sales manager Ed help out when we had a few questions David was unable to answer about finance, and like David he was very courteous and pleasant to deal with as well. Our relationship with this dealership has been outstanding so far. They have gone above and beyond what is normally required to make us feel comfortable in our negotiations for a vehicle. Their (Acura's) reputation as a superior vehicle dealership is well founded. Their availability of new vehicles was outstanding; in fact they had two vehicles to show us in the model, style and colors that we specified. I believe, based on the conversations I have had with the two employees mentioned above, that our relationship with Gunn Acura will be a rewarding one. They have expressed to me that they will not become a "disppearing salesperson" as so often has happened in the past. We just accepted delivery on our vehicle yesterday so I have not had an opportunity to evaluate their repair services. I met the service manager and she seemed real nice so I am looking forward to a satisfying experience with any repairs or corrections that may be required. More

On his day off he made sure Pete communicated with me to answer any on my million questions! Upon my arrival Tony was patient and allowed me the time and privacy to make our decision. The sales management team was eager to work with me to make the transaction happen. My exit with finance was simple and very pleasant. I cannot leave out the excellent service department for their friendly demeanors and eagerness to ensure my needs are met. Thank you Pat, TJ, and service gentlman (name blanking now) for your helpfulness. This is my fourth Acura with Gunn and the overall consistent excellent customer service they provide is the reason we keep coming back. Thank you Tony and THANK YOU the Gunn team!!!! More

The car buying wexperience was great all around. Tony was very proactive at providing information and flexible in providing test vehicles to ensure a good decision. We called Gunn Acura in San Antonio regarding a used Lexus they offered for sale on June 27. We completed the credit application that evening and we were approved for financing the next day. We discussed all of the financing details regarding the downpayment, etc. and agreed to purchase the car on June 28. As we live 250 miles away from San Antonio, Tony agreed to drive part of the way to meet us so we could sign the paperwork and pick up the car. We asked if we could do this on Saturday, as they were closed Sunday and Monday for the 4th of July holiday. Tony told us he found a couple of scratches and wanted to get the paint touched up before delivery, so we would need to meet on July 5 or 6. We called and emailed over the weekend to follow up on the status of the paint job to see if we would need to drive down on July 5 or 6 to pick up the car. However, we received no response. We called the morning of July 5 and we were told they needed to call the shop and check the status of the touch up paint job. We received a call back informing us they sold the car to someone else over the weekend. Although we had been in discussions regarding this car for 10+ days and agreed to purchase the car one week prior, it was sold to a different customer. Furthermore, the finance department ran a credit check before they approved us, so now we run the risk of looking like we're trying to get credit all over the place if we find another car in the near future. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed in the customer service. We had to be very proactive in our communication and messages were not always returned. We were willing to overlook this since the price was right and we were pleased with the car. However, they demonstrated that they lack organization and ethics. After conversations with the assistant manager (and the unreturned phone calls from the manager), we are still unsure if the car ever had scratches or was being repainted (as it clearly was not in the shop when it was sold). I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. To rectify this situation, we asked the general manager, Eric, to remove the credit check from our record. He said he would get back to us. In response to this negative review, Peter Holloway contacted us. I explained what we had requested from Eric and that we had not heard from him in a few days. Peter was the only person we dealt with at this dealership who took initiative and offered any customer service. I would rate our experience with him as very positive. Peter continued to follow up with us and see this issue through to the end. We never heard back from Eric again. It is my assumption that he knew Peter was helping us, but I've learned my lesson from assuming anyone at this dealership communicates with one another. It is unfortunate that Gunn Acura does not employ more people like Peter. More
