I contacted the dealership through my insurance sales program and Jay (Sales Mgr) was extremely responsive. After relaying some information to Jay and securing a trade in value, Jay brought in Joe for the buying experience. Joe was able to answer all our questions through email, call, and text. When we decided on a particular model, he accommodated our work from home schedules and brought the car to our house for a test drive. After we completed the finance piece of the transaction, Joe had the car detailed, disinfected, and brought it back to our house with a full tank of gas. There was no haggle, everything was presented up front with no hidden fees. Would definitely recommend Joe, Jay, Jeremy(finance guy), and Groove for a car purchase. Thanks guys!! More
A Remarkable Car Buying Experience at Groove Subaru - Garret In Summary... While many things have changed considerably with the Coronavirus pandemic, since our recent car purchase/lease, I would wholeheartedl In Summary... While many things have changed considerably with the Coronavirus pandemic, since our recent car purchase/lease, I would wholeheartedly recommend Garret Chanin, our extraordinary salesman and the impressive Groove Subaru dealership and their staff on south Broadway in Littleton. I quickly found that Garret was extremely trustworthy, remarkably honest and direct, incredibly knowledgeable with Subaru's line of vehicles. As a journalist, it is highly untypical for me to whiteness these important traits in a person, early on - a real tribute to Garret and his personal and professional style. While the car buying/leasing process has changed since the pandemic, I would strongly encourage anyone interested in a new or certified used Subaru, to talk with Garret early on in car shopping process. Garret will assuredly make your car buying/leasing a very positive and trustworthy experience, to work with your respective budget and vehicle needs. Groove's General Manager, Brenden Carlson was also very helpful throughout the process and we definitely knew, without any doubts, that we would be purchasing a Subaru that would fit our diverse needs and requirements at a fair and reasonable price. Garret is by far the very best car salesperson that I have ever worked with over the years! I would give Garret a 12 on a 10 point scale, as he went out of his way to be accommodating and helpful making our positive car buying/leasing experience very positive. A More Detailed Account: As a journalist, I oftentimes question the accuracy, transparency an honesty of what people say/share relating to my stories and therefore, all major purchases. When we became serious about purchasing a Subaru, I selected Groove Subaru on South Broadway as I felt that this recommended dealership would be the best fit for us. Initially, I called the Brenden Carlson, the dealership's general manager, sharing about the numerous diverse questions I wanted to ask. Brenden selected a salesperson to work with me. Garret Chanin was my/our salesman. He was truly remarkable, providing straight forward responses with facts/documentation to support what he shared. Garret was incredibly honest and very transparent, adding a sense of humor. It only took a short while for me to believe that he was someone I could completely trust and communicate with easily. I was most impressed with his vast knowledge of all Subaru models, both new and certified used cars. Garret has some solid experience representing Subaru's at Groove's mountain dealership in Silverthrone previously. He came to the Front Range at Groove's dealership in south Denver/Englewood/Littleton. Garret was amazingly patient and understanding, as I had numerous question's prepared in advance. One question quickly led to another, spending considerable time at a small table in Groove's warm and inviting lobby/showroom recently. He could not have been any more considerate. He quickly realized that I had "all my ducks in a row," having done my homework on Subaru's safety, reliability and fuel economy. This distinctive salesperson shared that he was delighted that I had done my homework and was very interested in my questions on the specifics/details because it showed my enthusiasm and interest in selecting the right car that would fit our diverse needs. Garret wisely suggested that I should look at the 2020 Forester Sport. We went to check our the top Touring model which was absolutely beautiful and provided numerous features, accessories and amenities that came as standard equipment. We spent additional time in Groove's garage, as Garret took the time to throughly explain this model's safety system, including numerous air bags, along with Subaru's EyeSight Drivers Assist Technology, "Blindspot" detection and their rear cross-traffic alert system. This was essential, as we daily have to contend with "wild drivers," to put it kindly. The Sport's front cabin and instrumentation was truly amazing with all the advanced offerings from the customizable steering wheel, to the diverse controls and functionality and options with the sizable display screen. Garret took the time to throughly share every relevant detail relating to the surprisingly large cargo area, along with going in to detail about Subaru's "Boxer" engine, which provides an immense amount of power when we travel on the highways/toll roads and traveling in the mountains of Colorado. He showed me every feature from inside to the outside, providing detailed and interesting information about everything. We then went on a test ride for several miles along south Broadway. While driving, Garret would share about the safety features incorporated in the car, along with an explanation with the internal warning lights and sounds that are built in to the Forester's Sport model. This is only the second year this Sport model has been available, as a sportier version of the proven Forester. Upon arriving back at the dealership, Garret took me to their so-called "test area," behind another Groove adjacent dealership. We went over some small pot holes, hardly noticing any cabin movement. He then had me drive very slowly through a massive pothole that was about 8" deep. It was totally remarkable that it was capable of handling a mega pothole. This small SUV has an 8.7 inch clearance. Garret then shared about this Forester Sport model was equipped with totally independent suspension related to each wheel. We then drove over some snow and ice in the side lot, so he could show me how the Sport would handle when breaking. As usual, I pushed the limit over the snow and ice, as I'm sure Garret had to be somewhat concerned about the truck parked in front of us, while I tested the brakes. He was very tolerant, accepting and understanding, even though, inside he could have been slightly trembling. The braking and stoping on the snow and ice, totally sold me that this was the car we needed to purchase or lease! To top that, Garret then had me drive to the front of the dealership to try out the "Reverse Automatic Braking" system myself. He placed a tall blue safety cone near their service door entrance. Garret had me put the car in reverse, backing up towards the cone at 5 miles per hour. To my surprise and total amazement the car came to a full stop a couple of feet from the hazard - the traffic cone. I got out to look at the distance between the space from the cone, as I could smell the breaks from the quick stop. Pushing the limit once again, fortunately Garret was very understanding, as I requested to put the Sport in reverse from about 35 feet, at around 10 - 12 miles per hour, as he was standing several feet away. I could not believe it. This Forester Sport came to an abrupt stop a couple of feet away from the safety hazard. Garret was smiling broadly, while observing my facial expressions of disbelief. Garret explained that the car's four radar units, inside the rear bumper can immediately detect objects (people/pedestrians, walls, hazards and bicycles laying on the ground, etc...), causing this SUV to immediately come to a full and complete stop. At that point, I decided that this would be the best car for safety, reliability and drivability, while getting great gas milage. Garret and I sat at the table for a short while, while he shared the benefits of purchasing a new car opposed to a certified used Subaru. He noted that Subaru's hold their value and we would not loose value, correcting the traditional misnomer that we would loose a lot of money when leaving the dealership - that is not true. We had thought about a 2019 Forester Sport, along with a 2018 certified used Outback with 8,000 miles that was priced well. While the top-of-the-line Touring model was out of our price range/budget, Garret wisely mentioned the 2020 Sport with most similar features and accessories as the top model. The Sport was very reasonably priced, especially for a brand new car with many of the features that came as standard equipment. Garret then wrote down on paper and explained the price difference between the three cars I was considering. There was a minimal price difference between the two cars that were one or two years older, from the 2020 Sport. I then scheduled a follow up meeting with Garret on Wednesday midmorning to see a brand new crystal white Sport SUV, that was literally delivered off the truck earlier that morning with only five miles on the odometer. Brenden, the general manager checked in regularly to see how things were going and asked if I had any questions, admitting that Garret was incredibly knowledgeable. I shared that we had a great salesperson whom I trusted, as he addressed every one of my multitude of questions. Brenden said he would make himself available if any questions came to mind. Since my wife had very limited time and was unable to see the car and ask questions, I thought we could call her on speaker phone to address her questions. Garret is incredibly wise, he said let's go into an office and face time her, enabling her to see for herself. In his typical style, Garret was very professional, knowledgeable, listened intently, incorporating a good sense of humor. He then borrowed my iPhone and showed her the features inside and out of the Sport and answered all of her questions. My wife and I then both came to meet Garret on Thursday afternoon to view the car, have my wife test drive it and drive on their so-called obstacle course. Like me, she was totally amazed with the car's performance and handling, along with the numerous features, amities and accessories that came standard. Garret then went through all the general financial details and add-ons, enabling us to stay within a reasonable monthly budget. We chose to have our add-ons include: tinted side front windows; a clear bra to protect the front; a tow hitch for our bike rack; a backseat rubber cover; Starlink - Subaru's diverse services and app; along with a special insurance third-party plan that would cover up to $5,000 of damage relating to the windshield, rear and side windows, hail damage and paint and dent damage. This exceptional salesman then took the time to explain the advantages between leasing and purchasing. Previously, we had never even remotely considered leasing. After Garret showed us on paper the differences, we chose to lease the Sport for three years. This resulted in a significantly lower down payment, a reasonable and affordable monthly payment, while covering any repairs, not including wear and tear items like brake pads, wipers... We then met with Jeremy Horwath, one of the finance manager and former top salesperson at Groove Subaru. He quickly made us feel comfortable and was not pushy in any way, as I have previously experienced elsewhere. This two hour progression of specifics relating to financing - with a very low interest rate for our lease through Subaru, was very easy to understand. Jeremy was very professional and capable and things went for the most part, relatively smoothly throughout the process. I am recommending Garret and this Groove dealership to friends, relatives and colleagues without any hesitation. We trust Garret and know that he will be there after the sale. Garret is by far the best salesperson we've ever worked with when buying a car! Tom B. More
